Chapter 47: Chapter 47

"Oh, trust , Mr. Saenz. You would NOT want

to work with you. I’m not young or fresh for your age," Winter sneered. "I’m sure you’d prefer her instead. So no need to hide it."

Sebastian had hundreds of rebuttals to that statent.

He would be the most blessed man on earth if he could live harmoniously with his beautiful wife.

In this life and the previous life, he never found anyone better than Winter, and justifiably so. He was given a diamond by God, only to toss it because his mother told him to.

So, his suffering was a punishnt for being a complete idiot.

"I’m not hiding anything. I wish it were you who helped

instead," Sebastian said sincerely, though he knew Winter wouldn’t believe him.

Winter had a lot of rage in her heart. When she first found out about Sebastian and Cindy’s affair, she wanted to explode like a volcano.

She wanted to give both of them hell and make sure that Sebastian regretted ever being born.

But she finally cald down once she spent ti alone in the penthouse.

She realized how tiring it was to be angry all the ti, and now that the fire had been extinguished, only an undying resentnt toward this bastard remained.

’But what should I say now? I don’t feel like getting angry at him anymore. I’m too tired...’ Winter thought. ’Should I tell him I’m angry with how he looked at Cindy?’

’But why should I get angry at him? I don’t love him, and he’s free to cheat anyti he wants. The faster, the better, so the judge will be on my side during the divorce trial.’

Winter stared at Sebastian, who looked calm. He didn’t seem affected by Cindy’s presence, but that made total sense.

After all, no man would reject having a beautiful young lady in his office. It would help refresh his eyes and mind and relieve his stress.

Or at least that was what Winter expected.

anwhile, Sebastian was unnerved by Winter’s silence.

So far, she hadn’t scread at him, but he was unsure if he liked that.

Maybe if she yelled at him, he could gather enough courage to express his feelings.

"Are we done here?" Sebastian asked after a long silence between them. "Look, if you don’t want to invite

for dinner, I’d rather shower first and order sothing to eat."

"Do you want Cindy to work permanently? I can make her a permanent secretary for you," Winter offered. She didn’t know what she was doing right now.

If she were sane enough, she’d move Cindy to another departnt to avoid any chance of cheating.

But in her experience, nothing would stop a man from cheating. She also had ex-boyfriends when she was young, and when they wanted to cheat, they would make a lot of effort to do it.

Just like Cindy and Sebastian.

If they really wanted to get together, they’d find a way behind her back.

So it was better to keep them close. It’d be a lot easier to observe them as well.

"No," Sebastian replied quickly. "I only need Iris. You can send Cindy to another departnt."

"She’s exhausted by the workload. You do need a second secretary," Winter insisted.

"What are you trying to do here, Winter?" Sebastian finally asked after her constant stubbornness. "I don’t need your sister to work as a secretary. She’s just a fresh graduate. I need one with experience, like Iris."

"Co on, Sebastian. We both know what you have in mind," Winter sneered. "My sister is young, beautiful, and smart. All the perfect reasons to keep her around, right? Who knows, you might enjoy her company in the future."

"Stop beating around the bush, Winter. Just tell

what you want

to do."

Winter took a deep breath. It didn’t seem that Sebastian wanted to play the guessing ga with her.

Then so be it, she would be frank this ti, "I don’t plan to move her to another departnt. I want to see how long you will survive until you do sothing to her."

"You—" Sebastian was speechless. "Are you testing

with your own sister? Winter, do you hear yourself?!"

Winter’s heart grew cold. She didn’t even know if she still loved her sister.

She had been good to Cindy.

She helped her mother raise Cindy since she was young. She gave her monthly allowance, fully paid for her university degree, and bought her an apartnt.

Winter did everything for her foster sister, so if Cindy still dared to betray her, then Winter couldn’t cling to the old concept of family. Clearly, Cindy didn’t appreciate her at all.

"No, I want to test both of you," Winter said.

Sebastian scoffed, "You’re so ridiculous, Winter. I don’t know what went wrong inside your head. Why would you push your husband to cheat? And do you think I will?"

"Oh, I’m sure you will. I know you too well, Sebastian Saenz."

"You don’t know

that well if you think I’ll betray you," Sebastian replied confidently. But his palms and back were wet with cold sweat.

He had no intention of cheating because he wanted to spend the rest of his life with his wife. However, he was worried about what Cindy and Camilla were planning.

’So in the end, I still have to work with Cindy...’ Sebastian knew he couldn’t let that witch work with him for too long. So he racked his brain to find a way to kick Cindy out of his life, "Why don’t we make a bet, Winter."

"A bet?" Winter frowned.

"I’ll allow your sister to work in the office only as an intern for a few months. If you find

cheating with Cindy during that period, then you can do whatever you want. You can make her a permanent employee or even fire

as a CEO," Sebastian said. "But if you have no proof that I cheated on you with your sister, then you need to kick her out and help

in the office instead."
