Not many words were exchanged.

Liu Changqing silently watched the two won in front of him.

They weren’t oblivious either;

they could tell that Liu Changqing didn’t want to argue any further.

Wang Xi gently tugged on Li Qing’s arm before supporting her, helping her out of the office like soone who had just suffered a heavy blow.

As the door closed behind them, their figures disappeared from Liu Changqing’s sight. Staring at the now-empty office, he let out a long sigh.

Li Qing felt a tightness in her chest.

Just as Liu Changqing had said earlier, she knew very little about him. Aside from learning during their bookstore conversations that he was divorced, she knew nothing else.

So… he even had a child…

Of course. At his age, having been married before, how could he not have a child?

These thoughts swirled in her mind as she walked forward in a daze, like a lifeless puppet being led along by Wang Xi.

To her, Liu Changqing’s words had been a huge blow.

Suddenly, Wang Xi stopped in her tracks, and naturally, so did Li Qing.

“Li Qing.”

A voice reached their ears, and Wang Xi looked up in surprise at the woman standing in front of them.

Before she could even ask, Li Qing had already responded.

“An Yuanyao…?”

Seeing An Yuanyao appear here, Li Qing’s eyes widened slightly, recalling the last ti they had t.

Back then, it was at the bookstore.

An Yuanyao had been in a miserable state, looking exhausted and haggard—a stark contrast to how she appeared now.

At this mont, in Li Qing’s eyes, An Yuanyao was dressed elegantly, exuding an entirely different aura.

It was as if she had beco a completely different person.

A certain possibility crossed Li Qing’s mind, and her mood sank even further.

So, she and Liu Changqing were already…

“Can you two co with for a mont?”

An Yuanyao spoke with a gentle smile, the kind that made it impossible to dislike her—like a kind and understanding older sister.

From the first mont Wang Xi saw her, she inexplicably felt a sense of goodwill.

People are naturally influenced by appearances, and first impressions are often dictated by looks.

To Wang Xi, An Yuanyao gave off an aura that was simply impossible to dislike.

After a brief mont of hesitation, Li Qing nodded, gently pulling away from Wang Xi’s supporting arm and following An Yuanyao inside.

Once the three of them had entered the room, the employees who had witnessed everything finally lowered their heads and resud their work.

Wu Yu, too, was staring in confusion.

It was clear that those two young girls had left the boss’s office looking heartbroken.

But he had no clue what had happened.

The bespectacled man sitting beside him smacked his lips and shook his head, letting out a long sigh.

His reaction caught Wu Yu’s attention.

Unable to suppress his curiosity, he lowered his voice and asked, “What are you sighing about?”

“The world’s morals are declining… I never expected the boss to be this kind of person. Those poor young girls… what a pity.”

Muttering as if talking to himself, the bespectacled man gazed at the room the three won had just entered, wearing a look of soone who had seen through the truth.

His response only made Wu Yu more curious.

Though Liu Changqing had always treated him well and even given his girlfriend such a great opportunity…

He was still curious.

Unable to hold back, he scooted his chair closer to the bespectacled man.

“What do you an by that?”

“It’s simple. You’ve seen how the boss and the boss’s wife act around each other—always glued together like young lovebirds, even though they’re not that young anymore. Every day, it’s like watching a drama unfold…”

“That’s true.”

“And now, isn’t it obvious? n… you know how they are.”

The bespectacled man nodded knowingly, as if he deeply understood the ways of the world.

Patting his chest, he continued, “n always like sothing new. The wife at ho never seems as appealing as the won outside. But I never thought the boss would take it this far—those two girls from earlier look like university students, and he went for both at once…”

Wu Yu was utterly stunned, his eyes widening in shock.

Muttering under his breath, he said, “You an…”

“He got caught. The boss’s wife caught him red-handed. It’s going to be a bloodbath when he gets ho tonight.”

Looking toward Liu Changqing’s office, the bespectacled man’s eyes, even behind his glasses, were filled with pity.

Liu Changqing wasn’t the type of boss to put on airs. He often gave employees little benefits here and there—overall, he was a good boss.

But given the current situation…

Things weren’t looking good.

Wu Yu followed his gaze toward Liu Changqing’s office, a hint of concern flashing in his eyes.

The boss was such a good person…

Both n sighed internally.

Just then, Liu Changqing pushed open the door and stepped out, only to be greeted by the sight of two grown n with their heads close together, making weird expressions at each other.

Startled, he froze mid-step, staring at them.

Realizing they had been caught, Wu Yu and the bespectacled man quickly snapped back to their seats, pretending to work diligently—like emotionless machines.

Liu Changqing glanced at them, then shook his head with a helpless expression.

The company already had more n than won, and Wu Yu, with his fair and delicate features, was quite the looker.

Not to ntion, he had a girlfriend…

But why did he act so oddly with his desk mate? It was starting to feel a bit… suspicious.

As he gently closed his office door behind him, Liu Changqing walked forward, heading toward the room where An Yuanyao was.

At the sa ti, a thought crossed his mind—maybe he should hire so single female employees.

If things continued like this, the entire workplace atmosphere might take a strange turn.

Sighing at the antics of the younger generation, Liu Changqing arrived at An Yuanyao’s door and reached for the handle, about to push it open.

But he hesitated.

Pausing, he instinctively glanced behind him to ensure that no one was watching.

Once he was certain, he slowly let go of the doorknob and leaned closer to the door.

As he pressed against it, voices from inside beca clearer.

An Yuanyao’s voice stood out.

Listening carefully…

The once-muffled conversation gradually beca distinct.

“You’re still young. You shouldn’t mistake misplaced gratitude for love. I know you said he saved you before, but that alone isn’t enough to say you love him.”

“But… I’ve never been in a relationship before. I don’t know…”

“So just because Liu Changqing saved you, you think you love him? Does that make sense? If that were true, then wouldn’t every kind-hearted person who helps others be popular?”

Inside the room, An Yuanyao looked at Li Qing with an unusually serious expression as she spoke.
