Chapter 258: Poor Zhao Xinchen
The pungent stench of antiseptic infiltrated her senses.
The VIP wards of the hospital were all on the top floor of the hospital and the corridors were usually quiet, with a few nurses passing by occasionally.
Dong Xu respectfully led the way in front and only stopped when he reached the door of Zhao Xinchen’s ward. “Sister Jinyi, Mr. Zhao is staying in this ward.”
Yan Jinyi nodded and suddenly asked, “Aren’t you Tang Qing’s subordinate?”
Dong Xu smiled sheepishly and scratched the back of his head with so nervousness before saying, “The world is round and so are networks of connections. Mr. Zhao is a famous heir so it’s not that surprising that we know each other.”
‘That’s true.’
Yan Jinyi pushed the door and entered, only to see Zhao Xinchen lying on the hospital bed.
He was leaning on the edge of the bed with an arm in a cast and his hair all ssed up. He seed haggard and disheveled too.
There was a middle-aged man standing beside him with a docunt in hand and reading sothing in a robotic voice. When he saw Yan Jinyi approaching, the middle-aged man was obviously displeased.
“Sister Jinyi, you’re here. Please take a seat,” Zhao Xinchen said, pointing to the sofa.
As soon as Yan Jinyi sat down, Zhao Xinchen imdiately stopped smiling and glared at the middle-aged man in annoyance. “Continue.”
“The reputation of the Zhao Corporation has been affected by the incident lately and this ti, the other party happens to be the son of the president of the Tianxiang Foundation, which has a very good reputation in this city. Young Master, the chairman would like for us to settle this privately.”
Zhao Xinchen imdiately got agitated after hearing that. “Why? Is the Tianxiang Foundation a big deal? Does the old man think that there’s no need to offend them for my sake because he has plenty of sons? Get lost, I won’t let this matter rest!”
It was the first ti in Zhao Xinchen’s life that he had been beaten up so badly!
The middle-aged man quickly tried to calm Zhao Xinchen down. “Young Master, it’s just a minor injury and you can be discharged in a few days. Why bother offending the Tianxiang Foundation? You’re the biological son of the chairman’s lawful wife and the only recognized heir of the Zhao family. Why would the chairman not care about you?”

Zhao Xinchen sneered, well aware of what his family was like.
Apart from the ones he already knew about, his father probably had even more illegitimate won out there!
“Young Master…”
“Can’t you understand simple English? Get lost!”
The middle-aged man sighed, and before leaving, he looked at Yan Jinyi with an ambiguous gaze.
Yan Jinyi sat on the sofa expressionlessly, as if she hadn’t seen what just happened.
After they left, Zhao Xinchen finally got a breather. “Sister Jinyi, do you think my life is really ridiculous? As the heir of the Zhao family, my father chose not to pursue the matter after watching get beaten up right in front of him.”
Yan Jinyi looked up, not missing the trace of despondence that flashed past his face. “I heard that you had an argunt with Jiang Zhao because of a gift?”
Zhao Xinchen coughed and said with righteous indignation, “I was going to give you that gift, but Jiang Zhao heard about it from sowhere and even spoke rudely about you. I decided to hit him because I was really furious and I couldn’t tolerate his behavior. I didn’t know that he had so many gangsters with him!”
“How did you get hurt?” Yan Jinyi suddenly changed the subject.
Zhao Xinchen froze for half a second before snapping back to his senses. That despicable Jiang Zhao had a knife with him and I was cut by it. I ended up having to get several stitches.”
‘Knife…’
Yan Jinyi squinted as her lips curled into a bloodthirsty smile.
When Zhao Xinchen saw the smile on her face, he shuddered and said, “Sister Jinyi…”
