The company environnt was decent; everyone was in uniform. After all, in such intense competition, it was hard to survive without so skills. Big companies focus on reputation, while small companies focus on service—there’s truth in this saying.
As soon as we entered, everyone looked over. Tony said, "Please have a seat, I’ll get you a glass of water."
I nodded, sitting down. Just then, Tony walked over with a glass of water, but before he could set it down, a woman’s voice rang out, "Tony, co here for a mont."
Setting down the water, he said, "I’ll be right there."
Walking over, Ms. White inquired, "What’s happening here? Why are you allowing outsiders into the company and offering them water? Are you aware that this is a waste of the company’s resources? Haven’t you noticed the sign at the company entrance that states ’No entry for competitors’? Why don’t you know?"
Tony’s face turned pale as he struggled to explain. "Ms. White, he’s not an outsider, he’s..."
"Are you talking back to ?"
Ms. White grew angrier, her voice getting louder, and colleagues around started whispering. So female colleagues covered their mouths, giggling at the scene.
Tony’s treatnt in the company is reminiscent of mine in the past. It feels like we’re in the sa situation. Since we’re in this together, I have to offer my help.
I gestured to Tony, and upon spotting , he inford Ms. White, "My friend called ; I’ll head over there first."
Disregarding Ms. White’s reaction, he walked over.
"Tony, why bother with her? Go directly to your boss; she doesn’t have the authority to make decisions on this deal." I deliberately raised my voice.
Tony nodded. "Yeah, I’ll go now!"
Ms. White approached. "Where are you headed? The boss is on a lunch break at the mont, did you not know?"
She looked down at and said, "We have a rule in our company: We don’t entertain competitors. Please leave!" She gestured as if to usher out directly.
Tony grew agitated, "Ms. White, it’s not like that. He has a deal in his hand and wishes to negotiate with us..."
Before he could finish, Ms. White impatiently interrupted, "Is he also interested in our company’s policies and discounts? You’re so naive; even a fool can see that he’s here pretending to place an order to investigate our company!"
"It’s not true, really..."
"Have you grasped the concept? Am I the manager here, or are you?"
Ms. White snorted. "Are you planning to leak the company’s secrets?"
I find it ridiculous. In this industry, everything is transparent. What secrets could possibly be leaked? It’s just about a few internal rebates. So companies offer more, and so offer less. If I wanted to gather information on a competitor, I could simply call and pose as a client. Isn’t that more convenient than visiting in person?
Ms. White grew irritated. "What brings you here? I oversee my team. Do I require your input? Who do you think you are? Kindly leave at once!"
From her deanor, it was evident that she held the belief that "competitors are enemies."
"I’m not leaving today!" I declared firmly from my seat. "Not only am I a competitor, but I’m also a client. Tony, please call your boss to co and discuss. I refuse to believe that you won’t consider a deal!"
After interacting with prominent figures like Edward, my attitude and perception had significantly shifted.
"Are you playing hardball?" Ms. White turned and ordered, "Get a few people. This individual is causing trouble. Remove him!"
Seven or eight n in suits approached, all appearing hostile. Despite feeling no fear, I thought, "If they dare to touch today, I will imdiately take Tony to their competitor’s office to secure his employnt. Today, I am determined not to let them disrupt ."
"Ms. White, you..." Tony spoke up again.
"Tony, you’ve really ssed up this ti, and I’m going to report it to the boss. You might end up losing your job and not getting paid this month."
Tony’s expression shifted, and he beca angry, saying, "Damn it. I’m giving you a break, aren’t I?"
He was furious. Tony was always composed in college. I had never seen him this enraged before. It made see a different side of him. A real man should have so temper; without it, can you truly consider yourself a man or even a young person?
Ms. White looked incredulous. "What did you say?"
"I said, damn it. I’m going easy on you, right? Is it enough, or should I say it again?"
He almost roared, his voice so loud that even people from neighboring companies ca out to watch.
Slamming the table, he stopped the n. "Co forward and try; I won’t kill you but I’ll hit you!"
Holding a chair, veins popping on his hand, with that fierce look on his face, so n hesitated, not daring to take a step forward.
Everyone was taken aback. They likely didn’t anticipate Tony, who they typically ordered around, to react so explosively. At that mont, the door of the innermost office swung open, and a middle-aged man with a large belly erged. "What’s all this commotion about?"
Ms. White approached and whispered sothing in the man’s ear. His expression changed dramatically, and he angrily confronted Tony. "You scoundrel! How dare you bring troublemakers into the company? Do you not care about your own reputation?"
Addressing the others, he added, "Why are you all just standing there? Get rid of him, and I’ll take responsibility for any consequences."
The man appeared to be the CEO of TT dia. Faced with the CEO’S authority, Tony clearly lacked confidence.
"Mr. Morales, my friend is not here to cause trouble; he wants to discuss a big deal with our company."
"A big deal?"
Mr. Morales approached and said, "Listen, if your friend can secure a major deal, why are you always on the brink every month? Today, you caused trouble and displeased . You’re fired. Leave now. No salary!"
