Chapter 227 — THE FIRST STRIKE OF HEAVEN
The storm above the ruined city no longer belonged to the dragons. It belonged to sothing colder.
The six Executors hovered high above the battlefield like unmoving stars carved out of pure white radiance. Their wings, ford from flowing bands of divine energy, stretched across the torn sky like silent blades. From the mont they appeared the entire atmosphere had changed. The clouds no longer moved naturally; they parted around the Executors as if reality itself was making space for them.
Below, the burning city watched. Sirens echoed through broken streets while firefighters fought through collapsing structures and military units scrambled between districts evacuating civilians. Yet even in the chaos every eye that could see the sky remained fixed upward, because the war had just changed.
High above the battlefield, Long Hao hovered in his Eclipse Dragon form. The black-scaled dragon stretched across the storm clouds like a shadow cast by a dying sun. Golden veins pulsed across his scales while faint arcs of eclipse energy bent the air around him.
Across from him the Jade Dragon strained inside the Executor’s cage. The prison wasn’t physical. Thin lines of radiant white light had appeared across the air, forming a massive geotric structure around the dragon’s body. Each line glowed softly, but every ti the dragon tried to move the air crushed inward.
The Jade Dragon roared as erald lightning surged through its scales and its claws slamd against the prison.
"Break!"
The sky erupted with jade energy, but the cage did not shatter. Instead the prison tightened, invisible pressure folding inward around the dragon’s body until its wings trembled slightly.
Below, Han cursed while Nyx watched quietly and explained that it was not a barrier but conceptual authority.
Above them the central Executor spoke again, its voice calm and emotionless.
"Anchor suppression stable."
The other Executors did not move. They hovered silently, observing and judging.
Long Hao flexed his claws slowly and muttered that the situation was terrifying. Inside his mind Longyu’s voice echoed quietly, explaining that the Executors were stronger than the fragnts.
"No kidding," Long Hao replied.
The Eclipse Dragon’s wings spread slowly as the black-gold halo behind his head rotated faintly.
"Guess that ans they’re coming for next."
As if hearing him one of the Executors turned, its glowing gaze locking onto Long Hao. The pressure in the air intensified instantly and the Sovereign System inside Long Hao reacted violently.
[DIVINE HOSTILITY DETECTED]
Long Hao blinked and muttered that the ssage was not comforting.
The Executor raised its hand and the sky responded imdiately. The storm clouds froze, wind stopped, and lightning hung suspended mid-flash as the battlefield entered a mont of unnatural stillness.
Then the Executor lowered its hand. The space around Long Hao collapsed. Gravity surged as invisible force slamd into the Eclipse Dragon from every direction and his massive body dropped several ters instantly.
"Alright—!"
The pressure crushed inward like falling mountains while the air scread and rings of radiant light appeared around Long Hao’s body. Each ring rotated slowly while compressing the space inside it tighter.
Below, Han realized they were sealing Long Hao as well while Nyx identified the formation as divine restraint.
Above them the Executor spoke again.
"Second anomaly containnt initiated."
Long Hao grunted as the pressure crushed against his scales like the weight of oceans and the Sovereign System scread warnings inside his mind.
[CRITICAL ALERT: DIVINE SUPPRESSION FIELD]
Long Hao clenched his claws and muttered that he had noticed.
The rings tightened further while his wings struggled against the invisible pressure, yet the Executors did not rush. They simply watched, calm and precise, like scientists observing an experint.
Long Hao exhaled slowly.
"Okay."
His golden eyes narrowed.
"Now I’m annoyed."
Black-gold energy surged through his body and the eclipse halo behind his head flared brighter.
"Eclipse Domain!"
The sky cracked as dark energy exploded outward from the Eclipse Dragon’s body like a rising void. The rings of light trembled and one of them cracked.
Below, Han stared in disbelief while Nyx confird that the restraint had broken—barely. Above them the Executor tilted its head slightly. For the first ti it reacted.
"Resistance detected."
Long Hao grinned slightly as his wings surged and black-gold energy erupted outward again. The second ring shattered while the third trembled violently.
The Executor’s wings expanded slightly.
"Escalating response."
Then it moved. Not fast and not dramatic. It simply appeared in front of Long Hao as the distance between them vanished instantly.
Long Hao’s eyes widened.
"...Okay. That’s cheating."
The Executor extended its hand and the air warped as a blade of radiant light ford instantly in its palm.
Then it swung.
Long Hao barely reacted in ti, raising his claw as the two forces collided.
BOOM
The impact detonated across the sky as golden and white energy exploded outward. The shockwave tore through the clouds and slamd into the ruined city below, collapsing several buildings instantly.
Long Hao was thrown backward through the storm before stabilizing himself hundreds of ters away.
"...That hurt."
The Executor hovered calmly while the blade dissolved into particles of light.
"Combat evaluation complete."
Long Hao flexed his claws and replied dryly that it was good to know he passed the test.
The Executor raised its hand again.
But suddenly the sky exploded with erald lightning.
The Jade Dragon roared.
The cage around it shattered.
Erald energy tore through the prison lines like a volcanic eruption as the dragon burst free. Storm clouds ripped apart while the massive creature surged upward with erald eyes blazing with fury.
"You presu too much!"
The Jade Dragon lunged as its claws tore toward the Executor. The Executor turned calmly and raised one hand.
The dragon’s claw stopped inches from its body as reality bent.
But the Jade Dragon roared again.
Erald energy exploded outward, cracking the pressure between them and forcing the Executor to slide backward slightly.
For the first ti the divine figure moved.
Long Hao stared.
"...Okay. That’s impressive."
The Jade Dragon hovered beside him now. Two massive dragons facing six Executors. The storm churned violently around them. The Jade Dragon spoke quietly, warning that the Executors would not stop.
Long Hao flexed his claws and agreed. The Eclipse Dragon’s wings spread wider as black-gold energy surged across the storm.
"Well," he said while glancing sideways at the Jade Dragon, "temporary truce?"
The Jade Dragon looked at him before snorting.
"Until Heaven bleeds."
Long Hao grinned.
"Works for ."
Above them the six Executors spread their wings as radiant energy erupted across the sky and the battlefield expanded. The war had just beco Sovereigns versus Heaven. And the real fight was only beginning.
