Chapter 663: Chapter 150: Returning to the Ancient Dreams (42)
Nightfall had gradually descended, and the north wind bore down, limiting the reach of the light from the mountain fires.
In the distance, beyond where the firelight could reach, the snow piled up like rolling waves.
If one looked closely, they would see countless white figures leaping across the surface of the snow.
They were the Snow Clan, relying on the great snow to seal the heavens. With their environnt now fully constructed, it was ti to launch their all-out attack.
Beneath the snow, there were also hundreds of thick, black snakes winding and weaving their way through.
At that mont, a formidable mber of the Lionheart clan, sitting beside the fire, opened his eyes and murmured, “They’re here!”
As he spoke, he stood up, gazing into the sky.
Before long, an ancient python of a hundred zhang in length erged, its black pupils fixed firmly on the Lionheart clansman as it spoke, “Lionheart’s Roar, it’s been a while.”
Lionheart’s Roar replied without a change in expression, “It’s indeed you.”
“And too!”
Another voice spiraled upward; it was a strong mber of the Snow Clan, wielding a battleaxe filled with divine power, his eyes overflowing with a surging will to fight.
“Qi Da Mo!” Lionheart’s Roar spat out the na heavily, as if it were a taboo.
“Hehe, it’s been a while, Lionheart’s Roar. You seem to have aged quite a bit,” teased Qi Da Mo, pointing at him. “I wonder if your old bones can still exchange a few moves with .”
“Then co and try!” No sooner had the words left his lips than Lionheart’s Roar’s bloodline power surged, and he transford into his King of the Lions state.
Like a cannonball, he launched himself toward his foe.
Seeing Lionheart’s Roar coming on the offensive, Qi Da Mo revealed a maniacal expression. The battleaxe in his hands burst forth with dazzling white light, as endless cold air exploded layer by layer, forming a sky full of ice spikes plumting towards Lionheart’s Roar.
In face of the incoming skill, a mighty Lionheart’s Roar exploded in the air.
The sonic wave, tangible as it was, imdiately swept across the battlefield, shattering the ice spikes.
But this was all within Qi Da Mo’s expectations. The shattered fragnts of ice spikes, under Qi Da Mo’s control, rapidly coalesced in midair, and in an instant, thickened into a massive sheet of ice pressing down on Lionheart’s Roar.
Lionheart’s Roar’s fist struck the sheet of ice, and his trendous brute force blasted it to smithereens.
But in the next second, Qi Da Mo, axe in hand, was chopping straight towards his opponent’s head.
Lionheart’s Roar quickly dodged, but at that very mont, the black serpent moved, opening its wide mouth and spewing a sky-full of poison fog, enveloping Lionheart’s Roar.
The potency of the poison was not to be underestimated. Lionheart’s Roar wanted to dodge, but Qi Da Mo wouldn’t let him get away, using ice magic to firmly entangle him, allowing the poison fog to surround them both.
At that mont, another mber of the Lionheart clan, previously stricken by the intense poison, made his move, throwing a punch towards the sky.
The explosive force of his punch caused a series of powerful waves, altering the path of the poison fog and rescuing Lionheart’s Roar.
The ancient python glanced at the clansman on the ground and sneered, “You’ve been poisoned by and you’re still not dead?”
“Hehe, I was lucky to have gained so resistance to the poison. I won’t die just yet.” The clansman said as he too leaped into the air, standing shoulder to shoulder with Lionheart’s Roar.
Qi Da Mo stepped back a few paces, and the ancient python also moved to his side.
“Fine, since you can still fight, let’s make it fair, two against two.” Qi Da Mo caressed his axe and muttered, “Ever since the Spirit Lord bestowed with this divine axe, it has not yet tasted the blood of the Lionheart clan. Today, I must let it thoroughly indulge.”
Both parties knew there were battles between the younger mbers still happening on the ground, so they all deliberately moved away from the ground to avoid the tumult of battle hurting their kin.
Watching the four powerful fighters vanish into the sky, Shi Changxin knew their battle was about to begin.
anwhile, Shi Feiqing also unwrapped the bandages from his body, stretched out his muscles, and walked over to Gui He. “Let’s compare later.”
“Compare what?”
“Compare who kills more. If I win, you’re not allowed to get near Chang Xin any longer; she’s my woman!”
Hearing Shi Feiqing’s words, Shi Changxin imdiately protested angrily, “What are you doing? Using as a wager?”
Gui He also said, “Although I don’t agree with this wager, I accept the challenge. If you lose, kindly keep your distance from Shi Changxin and find yourself another wife.”
“Fine!” Shi Feiqing agreed without hesitation. He might not be able to beat Gui He, but that didn’t an he would kill fewer enemies. With his Lionheart clan’s bloodline enhancent, once he got into fighting, wouldn’t he sweep through the battlefield with ease, leaving a trail of chaos in his wake?
As shadows continued to close in from all sides, with seemingly endless enemies—Snow Clan, beastn, earth spirits, and even dark snakes…
The combined might of the four clans converged here; defeat was all but certain, and even Shi Feiqing found it difficult to turn the tide. Only by fleeing could they grasp a strand of hope for survival.
But even knowing they would lose, no one present shrank back; their fighting spirit swelled instead. They were the noblest beast clans of the continent, and to die on the battlefield was their highest honor!
Gui He stared once more at Shi Changxin by his side, then turned his head to look back at the Doom Legion. They were all valiant sons of the beast clans, not ant to be buried in the mountains and lost to obscurity, to beco re sacrifices.
The ice and snow sealed everything, but the stench of blood within the village on the mountainside remained unmistakable.
“I apologize for using your blood. I will take up your cause and seek your revenge for you!” Gui He murmured as the Bloodthirst Skill was activated once again.
Frozen blood shattered to bits, now flowing towards Gui He.
Watching Gui He voraciously absorb the blood qi, Shi Feiqing hastily turned his head away, the mories too painful to revisit.
Shi Changxin and the rest of the Doom Legion were, however, incredibly stirred up; the might of Gui He had long been etched into their minds.
The bloodline power of the pangolin clan wasn’t strong, so even the blood of the whole clan couldn’t fill Gui He’s body and the two Heavy Swords he bore on his back.
But the resentnt contained within was even more intense than before.
In the depths of his mind, the aggrieved spirits of the dead pangolins wailed continuously, pouring out their tragic fates to Gui He.
The myriad cries of anguish engulfed Gui He’s ears in chaos.
Gui He listened attentively, without a hint of impatience.
After a brief mont, Gui He spoke, “My compatriots, I know you all died unjust deaths at his hands. Today, those who killed you have returned. I hope you can lend the strength to avenge you, to exact vengeance for the injustices you’ve suffered!”
Gui He’s words took the spirits by surprise, their contorted faces slowly becoming clearer.
An elderly spirit among them approached Gui He and bowed, “This old one has seen the young hero. My pangolin clan has never made enemies; we lived in peace. Yet those foreign clans, without reason or right, invaded our lands, rcilessly slaughtering our young. If the young hero could avenge this deep-seated blood feud for us, I would be willing to offer up a treasure that my clan has cherished for years, as thanks for your kindness.”
“Agreed!”
Upon Gui He’s acceptance, all traces of crimson faded from his eyes.
Shi Changxin had been worried that Gui He might lose control and attack his allies in a frenzy, but seeing the clarity in Gui He’s eyes, he breathed a sigh of relief.
With a clear mind, Gui He felt the explosive power within him, almost intoxicating, and realized this was the power the Master had spoken of—the power that exceeded all limits.
At that mont, the invading enemy unleashed their skills, hundreds of ice blades howling towards him.
Shi Feiqing was just about to act, to get off to a strong start.
Yet a Blood River tore through the night sky, its raging tides pouring down like the roaring spirits of nurous pangolins, exterminating their killers.
As the Blood River fell, the foes before them were swallowed whole, not even bones remained.
Under the augntation of Bloodthirst, the fresh blood of those killed was also drawn entirely into Gui He’s body.
The negative emotions that should have surfaced were violently suppressed by the spirits of the pangolin clan, unable to stir the slightest ripple.
Gui He, wielding two Heavy Swords, sent rivers of blood cascading down with each swing, slaughtering every foe they touched.
Still unsatisfied with the carnage, Gui He took the offensive, charging into the enemy ranks.
Faced with such a formidable opponent, the elite of the snow clan sprang into action.
Nearly a hundred joined forces, summoning a massive cot of ice, hurling it ferociously towards Gui He.
Feeling the imnse pressure descending above, the blood-colored divine turtle at Gui He’s back once more took shape.
The divine turtle roared skyward, colliding with the falling cot of ice.
With a sound that echoed like thunder,
the cot was shattered by the divine turtle, and large chunks of ice plumted from the sky, falling amidst the allied forces of the four clans, causing another wave of casualties.
anwhile, the ghost clan of the earth spirits, likewise composed of experts, blinked to Gui He’s side. An innurable array of daggers almost sealed off all escape, adopting a suicidal stance for their attack.
But such tactics were useless against Gui He.
Vast blood power surged from his heart, the Blood Qi Shockwave exploding steadily within the ranks of the allied forces.
This ti, Gui He did not need to worry about friendly fire and exerted his full might.
