The capital was set abuzz by Gui He’s return, yet the instigator of it all was silent deep within his own consciousness.

Here, it was pitch black, save for two rivers of power endlessly surging and looping.

To the left was a crimson river, and to the right, a verdant river. Originally unconnected, the two beca entwined due to Gui He’s manipulation.

The crimson river extended countless tiny tributaries, piercing into the verdant river, stealing its waters to bolster itself.

And the verdant river, its waters drawn off, began to dwindle, showing signs of drying up.

Although Gui He did not know what effect the drying of the verdant river would have on himself, one thing was certain: it ant harm. With the demise of the verdant river, he would have to bear the cost of its extinction.

The two rivers represented the power of qi and blood learned from Lu Hong, and his own tortoise bloodline.

Cultivating based on one’s bloodline was a reckless act that would ruin his future.

As stated before, without any special turning point, Gui He was almost certainly dood. Now, however, was his chance to save himself.

But within his own deep consciousness, Gui He, after several days of effort, found himself utterly helpless, unable to make any move within his mind’s depths, rely watching the two rivers continue their relentless flow.

Recently, Gui He felt his soul becoming unstable, as if it were about to float away and ascend.

This should be a sign that he was about to leave his subconscious. Ti was running out, he had to do sothing.

What would his master do in this situation?

Gui He pondered ceaselessly and, after so ti, he pinpointed the opportunity for his action. It was the brief mont when his soul would depart his subconscious. Only during that phase was the deep consciousness’s repression at its weakest, but the opportunity was singular and extrely brief.

Next, before his soul was completely untethered, he had to figure out how to handle the two rivers.

Gui He rembered a casual chat with Hai Ge, who ntioned the circulation patterns of power within his body after becoming a Magic Fighter.

Under Hai Ge’s demonstration, Gui He clearly discerned this fusion vortex. If Hai Ge could fuse two types of power into a vortex, could he as well? Could he not use a similar thod to rge his qi and blood power with his Bloodline Power?

Or should he sever the draining of his Bloodline Power by qi and blood?

Or assist the Bloodline River to engulf the Qi and Blood River?

Gui He sifted through dozens of plans and ultimately settled on fusion. Only this thod could definitively resolve the issue.

As ti passed, the deep consciousness’s hold on Gui He’s soul grew weaker until it dissipated entirely.

And as the hold faded, Gui He’s soul surged upward in an instant, on track to break through the sea of consciousness and return in less than thirty seconds.

Although the ti was short, Gui He was exceptionally calm, using thods he had simulated countless tis to manipulate the rivers.

First, Gui He maneuvered the Bloodline River, sending out nurous branches into the Qi and Blood River.

The nearly depleted Bloodline River, like a parched sponge, voraciously absorbed the power of the qi and blood.

Simultaneously, Gui He directed part of his focus to the Bloodline River, sectioning it from the void and aligning it closely with the Qi and Blood River.

After ten seconds of siphoning, the Bloodline River had regained so semblance of its forr scale. Gui He did not wait, employing the sa technique to cut and align the rivers.

Then, using all his might, Gui He began to rotate the two rivers.

As he rotated, he continually compressed them, seeking to rge them into one.

But the rivers, as if hostile to each other, were always separated by an invisible barrier.

Only five seconds remained before he would depart the depths of consciousness.

Gritting his teeth, Gui He’s soul erupted with one final burst of power. At last, the barrier dissolved, the two rivers fused completely, and a violent tremor burst forth from the depths of consciousness, sending a wild surge of power.

A powerful heartbeat jolted Shi Changxin awake from her rest. She sat up abruptly, looking towards Gui He, who lay unconscious on the ground.

Was that his doing?

Amidst her confusion, the second heartbeat seed to strike Shi Changxin’s own heart.

Indeed!

Shi Changxin’s brows knitted slightly, why would such intense palpitations erupt from this pale-faced young man who hadn’t yet awakened and whose body was obviously very weak?

With a touch of curiosity, Shi Changxin leaned in close to Gui He, carelessly pulling open his shirt, and pressed a hand against his chest to feel the unusual activity within.

Those intense heartbeats, accompanied by strong fluctuations, continuously piqued Shi Changxin’s desire to explore.

Using just her palm to feel was too weak, so Shi Changxin simply pressed her ear against Gui He’s chest, listening to the rhythm brought by each intense heartbeat.

This rhythm was mysterious, as if heralding the birth of sothing formidable.

And just at that mont, Gui He’s voice suddenly rang out, "Chang Xin... Miss Chang Xin, what... what are you doing?"

"?!" Shi Changxin was startled and hurriedly jumped off Gui He, "I didn’t do anything, really, nothing at all!"

Gui He looked at his exposed chest and his face was full of disbelief, "I believe you."

Shi Changxin, rarely blushing, then said, "I just saw that you hadn’t woken up and wanted to check on you. Now that you’re awake, you can leave."

Seeing Shi Changxin eager to send him away, Gui He said with a wry smile, "Chang Xin sister, I have no strength right now, let rest a bit first."

"Nonsense!" Shi Changxin didn’t believe him, he had clearly erupted with powerful strength just a mont ago, how could he possibly be in a weak state?

Feeling deceived, Shi Changxin flew into a rage and kicked Gui He out of the room without further ado.

The ejected Gui He drew a beautiful arc in the air.

Dragon King, reacting instinctively, caught the object flying out from the house and upon closer look—damn, why is it a pretty boy?

Wait.

"You’re Gui He?"

Dragon King’s reputation was resounding, so naturally Gui He knew of him, and responded, "Gui He has seen Lord Dragon King."

"Why did Changxin throw you out?"

Recalling the embarrassing situation just now, Gui He sighed, "I might have ruined her mont!"

Dragon King nodded, casually tossed Gui He out, cursing under his breath, ruining my disciple’s good mont, you’re lucky not to be killed!

Having thrown Gui He, Dragon King walked into the room, "Chang Xin, you... you..."

Looking at Shi Changxin, still with a hint of blush on her face, clutching a pillow, an old father’s heart shattered.

"You... you... you!" Dragon King’s anger surged upward, "You didn’t actually, with that boy... did you?"

If you want to forcefully keep Gui He at Beast Battle Hall, you must find a good excuse. I only wanted you to put up a facade, certainly not take it to heart?!

"Master?!" Shi Changxin hadn’t expected Dragon King to show up, and quickly gathered herself, urgently trying to cover it up.

This cover-up further crushed the already broken heart of the old father.

Dragon King took a deep breath, "Changxin, I ca this ti to assign you a task."

"Just give the order, Master," Shi Changxin affird, beating her chest, "I guarantee to complete the mission."

"Go to the eastern slopes of Donggang and et Young Master Shi Feiqing, and ensure his safe escort into the capital."

"What?!" Shi Changxin was stunned, "Master, how could you...?"

Dragon King was well aware of Shi Changxin’s attitude towards Shi Feiqing.

"Alas!" Dragon King sighed, "I don’t want to either, but the influence of the Shi heart royal family in the court is too great. It was the Heavenly God of Barbaric Fire himself who ordered , and I cannot disobey."

"I understand," Shi Changxin nodded, believing that Dragon King was also under imnse pressure, otherwise, he would never assign her this task which went against her will.

"When do you plan to leave?" Seeing Shi Changxin not getting emotional, but empathizing with him instead, his fractured heart finally found a bit of solace, "Shi Feiqing should arrive at the eastern slopes of Donggang in about seven days. This ti I’m assigning you three thousand soldiers of the Doom Army, this escort mission is fraught with danger at every turn. Be very careful, there are too many people who want to eliminate the future of the Shi heart royal family; the threats are endless."

"Rest assured, Master, I will safely bring Shi Feiqing back to the capital."

"No," Dragon King shook his head, "If you encounter a foe that even the Doom Army cannot resist, I allow you to lead a retreat. More than the honor of Beast Battle Hall, I care about your life and death."

Dragon King’s words moved Shi Changxin nearly to tears, and she silently swore in her heart to complete this mission flawlessly, not letting Beast Battle Hall lose face.
