[Long ago, the dwarves found themselves tasked with guarding a mysterious and extraordinary prisoner whose safekeeping couldn’t be entrusted to an ordinary cell.

In response, a coalition of these stalwart beings, along with master builders from all races, embarked on a journey to a forsaken land. There, they located the loftiest peak, and atop it, they erected a grand palace with a secure subterranean dungeon.

These chosen builders pledged their very blood to preserve the enigma of this prisoner, vowing to carry the secret to their graves, never even sharing it with their most cherished.

As ti marched on, decades turned into centuries. The stronghold took shape. A magnificent castle erged, concealing intricate pathways and hidden chambers beneath its regal facade. It ca to be known as "The Dwarf Fortress."

For generations, the dwarves thrived within its walls. Amidst the ebb and flow of countless kingdoms, lives both given and lost, the prisoner’s existence remained veiled, impervious to the grasp of any who dared seek it out.

Yet, as the years advanced, the onset of famine was followed by a procession of natural calamities, rendering the city inhospitable. Reluctantly, the dwarves abandoned their cherished ho, forsaking all they held dear in pursuit of safer shores.

Over ti, the enigma of the Fortress transford into a re legend within dwarven lore. Its concealed truths lie in wait, yearning to be unearthed by intrepid adventurers who dare to seek the revelations concealed within its depths.]

Xin eagerly delved into the lore of The Abandoned Dwarven Fortress, his excitent for exploration growing with each word he absorbed.

His NPC conquests could wait for monts of boredom; the allure of dungeoning and questing was currently irresistible.

"So, what’s our plan?" Rever inquired, glancing up from his own reading of the Fortress’s history.

"We’ll head to the city surrounding the fortress and seek out an Earl there," Victor explained. "This Earl should give us the first quest that unlocks a portion of the fortress map."

"Sounds straightforward. Let’s get going," Rever declared, leading the way with Yuzuro and Xin following suit.

As they advanced, Victor remained cautious, keeping a watchful eye on Midnight Duchess, his suspicion apparent in his vigilant deanor.

Midnight Duchess, not missing a beat, addressed Xin with a soft chuckle. "Your friend doesn’t seem to be fond of ."

Xin briefly glanced back at Victor, who was maintaining his unwavering scrutiny of Midnight Duchess.

"He has valid reasons to be cautious. You’re an unfamiliar presence with an infamous reputation," Xin defended Victor’s wariness.

Midnight Duchess’s amusent remained evident. "But you and I aren’t unfamiliar, are we?" Her voice took on a slow, deliberate cadence, a tone that seed to hold more aning beneath the surface.

Xin recognized that they had crossed paths before, thanks to Hilda’s intervention. Yet, there was sothing about the way Midnight Duchess articulated her words that hinted at a deeper connection.

Was it her tone, her choice of phrasing? She was known for her trickster tendencies, for manipulating minds with her deceptive discourse.

However, Xin’s stoicism acted as an effective shield against her tactics, preventing her words from penetrating too deeply.

Xin nodded curtly in acknowledgnt of their prior encounter.

"No," Xin responded, his tone asured. "But we’re not friends either."

A low chuckle escaped Midnight Duchess’s lips, her amusent palpable. "I see that your lady dwarf friend is not here."

Xin knew that she ant Hilda. "She had her own business to take care of." He only wished that he sounded believable.

Xin was keenly aware that Hilda was around. He could feel her fervent stares even from miles away.

With their conversation concluded, they continued onward in their journey through the city.

Xin’s gaze was drawn upward to the Abandoned Fortress perched atop the hill.

The city that surrounded the Abandoned Dwarven Fortress was a picturesque marvel, a blend of architectural wonders from the Dwarven races.

Tall spires of elven influence rose elegantly, contrasting with the sturdy and ornately designed structures built by the dwarves.

Human-style houses lined cobblestone streets, while banners and flags fluttered in the breeze, depicting the unity of the Dwarven races that once thrived there.

The city wasn’t frozen in ti, unlike the Fortress, as it held echoes of the bustling life that had once filled its streets.

And then, at the pinnacle of it all, stood the Abandoned Dwarven Fortress. It was a sight to behold, a testant to the craftsmanship of the dwarves.

The Fortress perched upon the hill like an ancient guardian, its towering black stone walls exuding an air of mystery.

The Fortress was carved out of stones, with intricate carvings of legendary battles and mythical creatures adorning the outer walls.

Overgrown ivy adorned the buildings, adding a touch of nature’s reclaiming hand to the scene. Hints of faded paint and weathered statues told tales of the city’s glorious past.

Tall watchtowers reached into the sky, offering a panoramic view of the surrounding lands. The Fortress itself was crowned with a majestic spire that seed to touch the heavens, and its stone gates, though worn with ti, still bore the marks of skilled craftsmanship.

Despite the passage of ti, the Fortress retained an aura of power and secrecy. Its halls, now possibly ho to untold secrets and dangers, had once echoed with the voices of the dwarves who once called it ho.

But now, it stood silent, waiting for adventurers to step foot within its storied walls and uncover the mysteries it held.

The group arrived at the grand entrance of the Earl’s mansion. The mansion’s architecture was a fusion of various styles, reflecting the diversity of the races that had once gathered in the city.

Tall columns flanked the entrance, supporting an ornate roof that showcased intricate carvings depicting historical scenes and mythical creatures.

The double doors before them were massive, crafted from rich, dark wood and embellished with delicate etchings of intertwined vines and magical sigils. The handles were wrought in patterns and symbols.

As they stood before the mansion, Xin couldn’t help but admire the craftsmanship that had gone into creating such a masterpiece. The place felt both ancient and alive as if it held within its walls stories waiting to be discovered.
