Chapter 801: Chapter 801 Opportunity

The close-combat troops charged without hesitation because of the war mode of the Ancient Gods.

In previous gas, during combat, military achievents were calculated based on the number of kills.

However, in the Ancient Gods, if there were no special circumstances, once soone died, they typically couldn’t participate in that battle anymore; if the original chanism was used, it would create an unwillingness to fight.

This would be extrely unfair to the MT, since leading the charge often ant certain death.

But when the Ancient Gods entered war mode, military achievents were basically calculated based on objectives. Completing military targets could earn overall military contributions.

And those players who had fallen earlier could still obtain the sa military achievents; of course, individuals who made special contributions would receive certain compensation.

Under this system, because resurrection was not possible, the army in one’s hands was the most critical factor. Once exhausted, there was basically no chance of replenishnt.

So, while it seed like there were many attacking the city, in actuality, the side of Undercity and the Lizardn were quite outnumbered. Normally, achieving victory would be almost impossible, especially with the enemy defending the city.

Adding to this were the players on the opposing side, countless players operating cannons and stone throwers, coupled with the veterans’ adjustnts, and intense formations, causing massive casualties to the Undercity side.

At this mont, underneath the eastern city wall, nurous players had already fallen. The entire world resonated with booming explosions that seed to light up the sky.

Countless players charged toward the city walls. It was their first ti participating in a real war.

It was so realistic, so shocking, that countless spectators who were originally competing or leveling up through killing monsters, had all stopped what they were doing to watch the live broadcast here.

Many people began to regret not participating in this large-scale warfare.

The battle could be described as brutal. The enemy’s wooden walls were very high and independent, capable of defending both inside and out, and it was unclear what substance they had been treated with— they simply would not burn like ordinary wood and were extrely sturdy.

Assuming a siege ladder, players desperately climbed, but amid rolling logs and boiling oil, countless players scread as they fell.

Both sides engaged in an intense battle for the walls, leaving countless onlookers in shock.

Players in other directions couldn’t see that far, but through the live stream, they felt their blood boiling, for they too were about to take part in the upcoming battles.

“It will take three hours for the city walls to beco completely secure. This ans that within three hours, we must destroy the Altar, or else this city will fully descend into our world,” the queen stated from on high, her eyes filled with frigid light. “I have taken note of your valiant struggles; regardless of success or failure, you are all strong soldiers.”

The queen had not expected these new recruits to be so fearless, which was beyond her expectations.

As the first wave of players climbed the city walls, the human and Lizardn players began their next clash. Their military achievents soared, causing players elsewhere to beco anxious.

Boom… Boom… Boom…

In a quarter of an hour, the western district fell, leaving two areas in emptiness as the city in the sky lost two of its corners, as if a piece of a building block had been removed.

Players in the western district wasted no ti in launching their charge, leaving the other two districts’ players looking distressed; this ant they were going to waste a lot of ti.

Just watching others’ overall scores skyrocket was truly irritating.

Half an hour later, all four city blocks had landed, and the main city in the mirror looked like a giant spider, with the altar at its center and spider legs all around.

So smaller areas also flew into the mirror under the influence of the altar.

“Big brother, everyone else has gone up, why aren’t we moving yet? All the military rit has been snatched up,” Tonto asked, voicing everyone’s thoughts.

If it weren’t for the fact that Li Yao had led them to a great deal of military rit, and they had co to trust him considerably, they would probably have already charged into battle by now.

“Because the ti isn’t right yet. What does this military rit amount to? It’s too difficult to take down the city walls; we wouldn’t be much use if we went up now. My principle has always been to go big or go ho,” Lia’s voice was filled with confidence.

The two hundred thousand players who were already itching to move suddenly began to wait patiently, and having pledged their allegiance to Li Yao, it would be even harder to earn military rit if they left.

Crack, crack, crack…

So massive fragnts of the city also surged out, but instead of connecting to the four city blocks, they floated in the air. These fragnts were much smaller than the four city blocks, but were not to be underestimated, as the lizardn on them began their attacks as well.

These fragnts once again disrupted the attacking rhythm of the Undercity side, causing heavy casualties amongst the players.

“What’s happening? Why didn’t these fragnts of the city combine with the four city blocks?” Tianxiang asked in confusion.

Li Yao smiled and explained, “It’s simple. We destroyed all the chains, and although there’s the Flesh and Blood Altar, their forced crossing through the planes is still sowhat insufficient. Teleporting the four city blocks has already used up most of the sacrificial power.”

Just as Li Yao had analyzed, those fragnts of the city were descending at an excruciatingly slow speed, and the light from the Flesh and Blood Altar had already dimd.

With the roar of the High Priest in the center, so lizardn even began to commit suicide, and as their blood poured into the altar, its bloody light slowly started to glow brighter again.

“The ti has co, we’re getting ready to move out,” Li Yao said, looking at the scattering fragnts of the city. Although they were fragnts, they were very large, with enough space to hold a hundred thousand people with room to spare. “Stay put and be ready to fight at any mont, Sister Li will stay behind to command.”

Everyone was very puzzled, but then they saw that a Mage had suddenly raised his hands, causing over ten thousand people to disappear instantly.

It was only then that they saw the firepower on a fragnt above their heads suddenly vanish, followed by the sounds of combat.

Li Yao and his group disappeared and then appeared directly on the fragnt.

“Damn it, how did they get up here? Turn the cannons around, bomb them!” a commander shouted loudly.

But after he shouted, he felt a sharp pain in his chest. Only when he looked down did he see the claws of his two subordinates had stabbed into his chest, one piercing through his abdon.

“Why!” disbelief filled the eyes of the lizard commander; he could not have imagined why his own kind would suddenly strike at them.

“The master wishes you dead, so you must die,” a lizardman’s eyes flashed with a hint of blood, followed by a ferocious tug, and the lizard commander’s heart was ripped out.

The lizard commander watched his still-beating heart, opened his mouth but only blood filled it, and he never managed to say a word before he thunderously fell to the ground.

This sudden change left all the lizardn dumbfounded, watching as several dozen lizardn protected the murderer of the commander, equally filled with bewildernt.

How did these humans get up here, how could they possibly bribe their own kind…
