Chapter 783: Chapter 783: Escort Mode

The battle between both sides erupted in an instant. As the opposing team’s warrior charged forward, their summoned demon also began to advance.

The Fruit Knight, however, stood her ground, raising her shield.

Boom…

The warrior’s charge battered into her, causing a montary stun. Yet, the warrior’s target was not the Fruit Knight, but a player standing behind her.

The warrior initiated his charge again, this ti targeting Mu Zi, the novice player.

Two distant opponents, initially hiding behind a column, raced out to et their Fruit Knight face-on.

“Target the priest.”

The Fruit Knight leaped up, brandishing the Sword of Divine Punishnt.

As the warrior charged towards Mu Zi while the novice Mu Zi blinked to the priest and magician on their team.

Rings of ice!

Snap!

An icy halo rapidly froze the steps of the priest and the magician.

Consequently, the warrior’s second charge hit nothing but air.

The totem called by the dazed pupil was already inserted in their erged area, four elents surrounding the warrior.

And the Fruit Knight descended from the sky, directly smashing onto the priest.

Sanction Hamr!

With a flickering light, a shadow of a hamr stunned the priest. A torrent of attacks followed.

The enemy Demon Warlock froze and was about to continue casting a spell when suddenly turned into a frog.

It was the dazed pupil’s demon art. Snap! The pupil placed a grounding totem between the priest and the magician.

The priest’s complexion changed and he used his badge to break free from the Sanction Hamr. Yet, due to the grounding totem, his speed was virtually at a standstill.

What followed was an onslaught from the three of them. Despite the priest healing himself continuously, his health kept declining.

The enemy’s warrior tried to break free but was restrained by the four elental forces. He needed a few seconds before he could break through, at least until his next charge was ready.

Seeing the dangerous situation, the enemy’s Demon Warlock also used his badge.

He tried to command his demon to attack Pupil while he attempted to cast fear technique on the three of them.

Though his plan was good, no sooner had he returned to his normal state but he was turned into a bleating sheep by polymorph spell.

Mu Zi, the newbie, remained calm throughout, keeping it for burst rather than controlling the opponent’s Demon Warlock after the latter used the badge.

With peace of mind, you can imdiately cast a non-instant spell.

Peace of mind Polymorph, once again controlled the opposing warlock.

Pupil ran straight through the grounding totem and temporarily got rid of the demon pet. The demon pet wanted to destroy the grounding totem on the command of the Warlock but this would take at least three seconds.

All three of them attacked the priest, especially the newbie Mu Zi. A fiery eagle resembling a teorite hit the priest, leaving him with no ans to escape.

The attacks of the Fruit Knight were not weak either. Coupled with the priest constantly having to cast spells due to the grounding totem, continuous attacks battered the priest’s body.

Pupil released all sorts of attack totems without holding back. Just when the Warlock’s demon was about to shatter the grounding totem, the priest had already fallen.

“I’ll hold the Warrior. You kill the Warlock,” declared the Fruit Knight as she charged toward the besieged warrior..

Under the onslaught of a few elents, the warrior’s blood volu was less than half. However, the Warrior anxiously awaited his charge ability cooldown as his team’s healer had already fallen.

Following this, the opposing Paladin also charged forward while the two mages focused on the team’s Warlock.

Essentially speaking, the match was over. It was a three versus two situation and all three mbers of their team had almost full health.

Although the Warlock activated the fear technique to control Mu Zi and Pupil for a few seconds and attempted to kill the Fruit Knight, but the Fruit Knight didn’t give them an opportunity to do so, imdiately using the Holy Shield then engaging the warrior.

A few seconds later, the effect of the fear technique faded. Mu Zi and Pupil killed the Warlock amidst their onslaught and then all three turned to attack the critically wounded Warrior.

The match ended—the Fruit Knight had half her health remaining; Pupil had four-fifths of his health remaining; and the newbie Mu Zi was at full health. They claid a significant victory.

“Humph, don’t get too full of yourselves. Three against three is not our forte. Next ti, we hope to get matched up with you,” the Ink Sea Team huffed with dissatisfaction. In their opinion, losing the match was because they weren’t good at three vs three battles, and additionally, the opponents’ lineup had specifically countered their formation.

Li Yao and the rest didn’t address this. They thought, “If your team wasn’t at its best, or if you weren’t good at three against three, why would you co forward to say such things? It’s a flawed team, lacking confidence, trying to act tough despite the outco. What’s the point?”

Li Yao opted to exit the virtual scene, leaving the mbers of the Ink Sea Team cursing and complaining.

“Hmph, these losers are so annoying. If you can’t stand losing, then don’t play.” Pupil expressed his thoughts with a hint of contempt.

“Though this team is not bad, they had the ill-fate to et us. However, they ultimately stand no chance for our next match,” stated Li Yao as he prepared for the following match.

Soon, a notification was received by everyone. They all chose to enter the virtual space.

“System: Generating battle mode randomly.”

“System: Battle mode generated. Five vs five, location: Gno Second-Level City Electro-control City.

“System: Match mode is escort mode, victory will be determined by a best of three series.”

“System: Both sides choose five mbers for the battle.”

“System: Battle rules are as follows, attack and escort sides are chosen randomly within the arena.”

“System: The attacking side needs to seize the escort target and escort it to the final destination within the allotted ti to erge victorious, otherwise, they lose.”

“System: Escort mode provides matching character templates. Please choose the appropriate fighting template based on the fighters.”

“System: As it’s the first ti for the teams to encounter this ga mode, a three-minute familiarisation ti will be provided.”

Following this, more detailed rules appeared. Everyone took a minute to glance over them.

Sister Li frowned: “I get the mode, but why do we have to select character templates?”

Although they were called character templates, they were essentially corresponding transformation cards. Also, they had noticed that these characters had restricted abilities.

“This kind of mode is all about ntal state and operation, ignoring the individual’s equipnt and character class. I find it interesting,” The Peerless Maiden comnted.

Li Yao understood clearly and said: “Actually, this type of mode isn’t bad. While the characters have few skills, they are not unfamiliar. They too can be divided into tank heroes, assault heroes, healing heroes, and assassin heroes. We can always find sothing we are proficient with.”

“Chairman is correct, we are not familiar, and neither is our opposition. Just temporarily choosing a hero that we are familiar with should do fine. As our ti is nearly up, who gets to wear the badge is the decision we need to make. Shall we proceed?”
