Chapter 1284: Chapter 1284: Seats Chapter 1284: Chapter 1284: Seats Li Yao arrived at the Chieftain Hall in the Valley of Glory and separated from the others, being led into the hall.
There, Li Yao saw many people.
The Chieftain was seated comfortably on a throne that represented his authority, with leaders from various races of the Dark Camp seated around him, although each leader had only a few subordinates with them.
In fact, apart from the leaders of each race, those who could attend this eting were the powerful generals managing various regions, totaling only a few dozen people.
The rest were so clerks as well as heirs who ca to join the excitent and learn from participation—essentially the young individuals valued by each faction of the Dark Camp, serving as future leaders and power-wielding generals.
For instance, Li Yao saw the son of the Tauren Chieftain, Blood Hoof, and the son of a legendary Orc Chieftain who had sacrificed himself in an attempt to slay a Demigod, as well as a young and promising High Elf Countess among others. These were individuals of minor authority but exceptional talent who had contributed significantly to great deeds.
Li Yao glanced around and noticed that only two seats were empty; one behind the Queen, next to the President of the Pharmacists’ Association.
The other was behind the High Elf Regent, next to the Countess.
Li Yao paused, his mind quickly grasping the situation, and then he bowed ticulously.
“You need not be overly formal, the eting starting today will not discuss any major issues. It’s just to allow everyone to share their thoughts and the difficulties they have encountered,” said the Chieftain with eternal humility. Being an Orc, his deanor often made people overlook his fierce appearance and think of him as a true gentleman.
Li Yao nodded, understanding it was essentially a preliminary eting intended to foster communication and exchange before the actual eting comnced.
The Chieftain then showed a slightly mischievous smile, “General Prairie Fire, please take your seat.”
Without hesitation, Li Yao walked behind the Queen and sat down, while the crowd looked on with interest.
Although the Queen remained expressionless, as Li Yao approached, he could see a flash of satisfaction in her eyes.
The Regent’s face darkened montarily, but as a leader of the High Elves, he naturally could not chastise a junior, as it would seem ungracious.
Countess spoke up, “General Prairie Fire, you are our High Elf General. Why then do you sit on the side of the Undead Clan? Have you chosen the wrong place, or do you no longer wish to serve our race?”
Li Yao spoke calmly, “You place too much importance on this, my Countess. As a High Elf, I will certainly give my utmost whenever needed. But this occasion is different. First, all races of the Dark Camp are brethren; I can sit anywhere without error. Are we, the Dark Camp, supposed to segregate internally? Secondly, I am now a disciple of Her Majesty, and as a disciple, I naturally need to be by my ntor to learn better. We study not only the fighting techniques but also how our ntor speaks and acts, aiming for self-improvent. Is there anything inappropriate about my seating here?”
The Countess shook her head slightly, “It seems General Prairie Fire is not only skilled in combat but also very articulate. We should exchange more in the future.”
“Certainly, certainly,” Li Yao sighed in relief internally, knowing he had passed the test and truly established his footing in the Dark Camp from this mont.
“Alright, now let’s hear from Vol’jin about what’s going on with your side,” the Chieftain said as if unaware of the recent turn of events.
Vol’jin, the Troll Chieftain, nodded and began discussing the situations and hardships faced by the Troll race.
Their faction was a closely-knit alliance, not just in advancing and retreating together but also in economically supporting each other for mutual developnt.
Li Yao had already started a private recording of the eting. He wasn’t going to post it on a forum but intended to let the Starfire council decide whether they could find business opportunities, whether it was the actual situations faced by each race or the resolution of major issues which ant endless business opportunities.
While Li Yao was earnestly analyzing whether the matters discussed by the leaders contained business potentials, and mbers of Starfire were communicating with guards of other leaders, the outer city area of Starfire was also waging a battle.
The assassin’s Sandy Beach Forest ambushed had completely shattered the Land Alliance Army’s hopeful notion of raiding Starfire through the forest, forcing them to take a detour.
The vanguard Legion was too small; even upon sighting the city walls, they did not dare to attack until the main Legion took over an hour to detour and regroup.
However, their situation, though slightly better than those in the Outer Harbour Area, was still dire as the dense cannons inflicted heavy losses on their Legion, leading to a temporary stalemate.
A Hunter deactivated his Eagle Eye Technique and inford the guard officer, “Sir, recon is clear. The enemy’s order has been restored, and we’ve pinpointed the location of their elite forces, with their commander among them directing the battle.”
“Good, mark the Tunneling Bugs. Also, lure out the Fire Poison Cockroaches from the hive. Rember, be careful not to err, or those creatures won’t differentiate us as friends,” the guard officer instructed.
“Yes.”
The guard officer slightly shook his head, “If the Lord were here, it wouldn’t be this troubleso. But thankfully, we thought ahead for his absence. Otherwise, our defenses would be virtually nonexistent.”
Atop the World Tree, HY puzzled, “You guys really trust him, letting an NPC command the battle.”
Feng Yi chuckled, “Ancient NPCs are not re programming. You’ve seen it; his command is flawless, even better at adjusting and dispatching formations than Sister Li. You should know, the cannon array at the outer city can’t control everything.”
“That’s true. I’ve heard that the first NPCs received by Starfire were elites from the Marine Kingdom. I didn’t give it much thought before, but the rumors seem true. Everyone knows the value of NPC population, but it’s rare, especially for those NPCs with special skills to take interest in a new city. Much less those equivalent to the elite Legions of main cities. How did Starfire manage this?” HY exclaid and then asked.
“It’s simple. We provided them with hope and a stable life for their families, which naturally made them willing to serve the guild. When they arrived here, it was agreed that they could leave whenever they found a better place,” explained Feng Yi nonchalantly. “But as you see, only a very few chose to leave, and the vast majority have stayed, making Starfire their ho.”
“Don’t fool . If it were that simple, NPCs wouldn’t be so hard to engage. Surely, there’s so other secret,” HY expressed disbelief, noting all the ample promises made to attract NPCs, yet none followed.
“If you don’t believe, let it be,” Feng Yi shrugged.
“Hey, your settlent even has bugs, what are you planning to do with them?”…
