As Anthony appeared in his room, he saw Jarod already packing his things to move toward the area reserved for the Above Disciples. Anthony thought for a moment, tempted to give the Fruit of Law to Jarod and see what kind of changes would follow. After thinking about it for a while, he abandoned the idea, simply shook his head, and decided to sleep instead.
A lot had happened today, and he needed to get some shut-eye. With that, he lay on his bed and quickly drifted off to sleep. Time flew by, and night gradually approached as Anthony spent the entire time sleeping. Jarod, who had already prepared dinner, could see that Anthony was asleep, but he did not bother disturbing him, deciding instead to quietly leave the meal waiting for whenever Anthony eventually woke up.
At 10 p.m., Anthony’s eyes fluttered open. He yawned before stepping out of bed. He left his room and headed toward the dining area, where Jarod had already left dinner for him. Although it had been sitting there for several hours, the food was still warm, as the plates were engraved with runes that kept whatever contents they held warm for an extended period of time.
As Anthony sat down and ate, Jarod stepped inside. He bowed respectfully before proceeding to speak.
"The Decipherer Of The Heavens brought your robe, identity token, sword, and cultivation pills," Jarod stated as he rose from his bow and placed the items that The Decipherer Of The Heavens had brought onto the table.
"He also asked me to inform you that tomorrow morning you will be taken to the Heavenly Library to pick out a cultivation manual, a sword technique, and a movement technique before you head to the Above Disciple area," Jarod added.
Anthony stared at the items on the table for a moment before simply nodding as he spoke.
"Thank you."
Jarod merely nodded before turning around and walking away, having already passed on the message. Anthony waved a hand, and the items floated before him. He picked up the cultivation pills and examined them carefully. With his Thought Conception, he already knew that they were pills designed to supply massive amounts of Origin Essence, greatly hastening the cultivation process by reducing the time needed to absorb Origin Essence naturally.
But Anthony did not need them. If he wanted to, he could break through to the next cultivation rank at this very moment. Since his mental capacity and overall strength had increased because of the evolution of his bloodline, doing so would not be difficult. Even so, he refrained from making the breakthrough because he already knew that the so-called The Sleeping Hollow, which he was supposed to enter alongside the other Above Disciples, possessed a cultivation limit.
Of course, he could easily bypass such restrictions through Thought Conception if he truly wished to. Such limitations meant very little to him.
Therefore, he had no need for the cultivation pills, and since they were useless to him, he did not bother giving them to Jarod either, as Jarod could not use them. After all, if the man consumed even a single pill, his body would be incapable of enduring the overwhelming surge of Origin Essence contained within it. He would simply explode into countless pieces and die on the spot.
Anthony then picked up the robe. It was purple in color, with the embroidered emblem of a shining silver sword pointing upward on the left side of the chest, which appeared to be the insignia of the Null Sect.
Anthony could see numerous runes engraved upon the robe, ranging from cleansing runes and self-repair runes to defensive formations and size-adjustment formations. Every one of them varied in quality, beginning with one-star runes, such as the cleansing rune, all the way to six-star formations, such as the defensive formation engraved into the robe.
That particular formation alone could withstand an attack from a Foundation Heavenforge cultivator, which was the tenth cultivation rank out of fifteen. That alone demonstrated just how highly the Null Sect valued its Above Disciples.
Anthony, however, paid little attention to the runes. He had never truly needed such things, and even if he did, improving them would be effortless. If he wished, he could casually upgrade every rune and formation on the robe to the twelve-star level without expending much effort.
’So the Above Disciples wear purple robes, huh?’ Anthony thought as he continued eating, recalling that he had not seen anyone wearing a purple robe while walking from the city area to the core regions of the sect.
The robe vanished from Anthony’s hand as it entered the system inventory. With a thought, his Universal Clothing immediately adjusted itself, perfectly matching both the appearance and color of the purple robe that Jarod had been given to deliver to him.
Anthony picked up the identity token next. With Thought Conception, he did not need Jarod to explain anything, as he immediately understood all of its functions. By channeling Origin Essence into the identity token, one could transfer and receive contribution points. It also possessed a function that acted as a map, guiding anyone carrying the token safely back to the Null Sect even if they became pletely lost.
Naturally, such a feature had its limitations. It would not function in places where space itself was distorted or sealed, such as the underground tomb where The Lover Of Death was buried, nor would it work in other unique or forbidden locations.
Anthony immediately cut open his index finger and allowed a single drop of blood to fall onto the identity token. The token shone with a gentle black radiance before returning to its ordinary appearance, once again being nothing more than a rectangular wooden token covered in numerous unknown carvings.
Anthony fastened it to his waist without another thought. One did not specifically need to carry an identity token openly, as it could simply be stored inside a spatial ring, and most disciples preferred doing exactly that. After all, if someone lost their identity token, obtaining a replacement was an enormous inconvenience, as they would have to answer numerous questions regarding both themselves and the sect.
After all, it could very well be an imposter attempting to replace the original owner.
Anthony then turned his attention to the sword. It was far from an ordinary weapon. Through Thought Conception, he could immediately perceive that the sword possessed a few innate abilities derived from the precious materials used during its forging, along with additional abilities bestowed upon it through runes and artificing techniques during the crafting process.
However, Anthony had no need for it. Without another glance, he casually tossed it into the system inventory as though it were nothing more than a worthless piece of metal. Under normal circumstances, Anthony would have simply given the sword to Jarod, but if he did, Jarod would most likely be robbed and killed the moment he stepped beyond the sect gates while carrying such a valuable weapon.
Anthony simply shook his head before continuing his meal. None of the items that had been sent to him held any real value in his eyes. Whether they were the cultivation pills, the robe or even the sword itself, every single one of them was ultimately unnecessary, as he had no genuine use for any of them.
