Astra’s eyes widened slightly, a mix of fear and fascination sparkling within them.

She leaned back slowly, as if preparing for the inevitable strike, her voice barely above whisper. "Yet... I’m still breathing. And you’re still sitting beside ."

She’d always romanced death. Perhaps, that’s why she was still alive. So said she was too lucky. Others said she had the moon goddess’s special grace. But whatever it was, she believed that her ti to die wasn’t here yet.

She still needed to kill her mate and everyone in her pack who called her nas and shad her for sothing she couldn’t control.

His gaze intensified, his piercing blue eyes burning with sothing untold. "Most try to flee or kill after witnessing... my excesses. You seem to be considering inviting to stay... in your life, Astra."

Astra’s heart raced faster. She felt drawn to the darkness emanating from him. She knew he was a walking red sea, not just a red flag, yet, she liked this monster.

Scratch that, she loved this monster, but wished he could be more gentle, as her body was riddled with blood, sweat, tears, and scratches.

"I want you to stay." She reached out to touch his face, but a glare from him made her hesitate. Astra’s hand froze mid-air, her eyes locked on his glare for a split second before she lowered her gaze.

She was too scared to hold his gaze. Her hand dropped to the side, yet continued to say, "I want to stand by your side. Kill your enemies with you. Be whatever you want to be."

The air around them charged with tension as he spoke low and nacingly, "You’re not qualified to stand by my side." He continued heartlessly. "However, you’ll get your revenge and the power you seek. But as my Gamma and my sex slave."

With that, he rose from the bed, walking across the room.

Astra’s eyes widened, face contorted in terror. He could read her mind! What kind of monster was he?!

Grabbing his cloak, he casually replied, "A monster you shouldn’t breathe too loudly in front of, Astra." Wearing the cloak with his back to her, he continued, "I’m letting you live not because you’re special. It’s because you lasted longer than other she-wolves."

He didn’t know, couldn’t tell why he couldn’t control his heat anymore. It ca all of a sudden and went all of a sudden. He’d experienced hears in the past, had sex with she-wolves too, but never this intense - this desperate.

He needed to keep her, albeit, for now, in case his heat suddenly ca again. She’d serve as his sex slave...but his nose crunched in distaste as he rembered her sll.

Grabbing a tiny vial bottle from his shelf, filled with hundreds of tiny vials, he turned around, "Get rid of that rogue sll..." He threw a tiny vial onto the bed, ignoring her shocked face. "... Otherwise, It may propel to sink my claws into that chest of yours and dig out your heart. You sll disgusting."

With that, he draped the cloak over his shoulders, flung the hoodie on his head, put on his mask and walked out of the tent.

Astra’s face was beyond horrified as he watched him leave, yet couldn’t see him, because her mind had long frozen.

He could truly read her mind!

Their world, their kind didn’t have abilities! What kind of a werewolf was he? How did he even beco a rogue?

...

The masked man was seen walking deeper into the forest, then, he stopped and hung his cloak and mask on a tree and began to shift.

His body began to contort and twist, his limbs elongating and morphing. His skin itched and rippled, fur bursting forth from his pores as his face stretched into a snout.

The masked man’s transformation was swift and brutal, his body convulsing with a force that seed to shake the very trees themselves.

As the transformation reached its climax, the masked man’s body burst forth in a riot of color and sound, his wolf form erging from the wreckage of his human shell.

The wolf was massive, its fur a thick and luxurious blue coat that seed to shimr and glow in the fading light of day. Its dark blue eyes burned with an inner fire, a fierce and feral intensity that seed to pierce the very heart of the forest.

The wolf let out a mighty howl, its voice echoing through the trees as it threw back its head and let the forest know that it was alive. The sound was primal and raw, a call to the wild that seed to shake the very foundations of the forest.

Crackle

Boom!

A furious thunder slapped across the evening sky as if in response to the wolf’s call.

Birds took flight, their wings beating wildly as they fled. Small creatures scurried for cover, their beady eyes watching with fear from a far distance. They’d seen wolves shift but never one with such evil, such darkness clinging to him.

As suddenly as it ca, nature settled, and the blue wolf darted deeper into the forest, its speed was a blur as it crossed over to the areas with danger markings – a place where no humans or werewolves should ever cross.

...

Ryder’s eyes flashed open, his gaze drifting towards the window, staring up at the evening sky that had let out a deafening roar of thunder.

His brows creased. This was the second ti he was having this strange feeling. It was a tight, intense feeling of apprehension that seed to be building in his chest, a sense of foreboding that he couldn’t shake.

And he didn’t like it.

He hated surprises. Could there be another creature like him lurking in the shadows?

Ryder had always been different. Even in his past lives, he was different from other wolves, but there was only him. There was never another.

Shadow One said he was different, and he knew he was right.

Ryder could command nature if he willed, reason he could tell that this thunder and the change in atmosphere the last ti was summoned, not natural.

Reana stirred in his hand, prompting him to discard his thoughts and focus on his woman.

She was exhausted, and rightly so. He’d punished her like he promised, and she would need the remaining day and night to rest.

A smile tugged at Ryder’s lips as he kissed her forehead. She mumbled sothing in her sleep and clung to his body.

Ryder chuckled, his chest vibrating with a low, rumbling sound. He wrapped his arms around Reana, holding her close to his chest as he stroked her hair.

His thoughts may have been consud by the strange feeling and the possibility of another creature like him being out there, but his attention was firmly fixed on the woman in his arms.

She was the only thing that mattered. The world could burn for all he cared.

Unfortunately for Ryder, there’s a possibility that the world wouldn’t be the only thing burning.
