"Huh!... You said get your daughter pregnant, your majesty," Ethan asked again, just to be sure he wasn’t hearing things wrong.
"That’s exactly what I said; the mating season is in two weeks, and the kingdom has already begun the distribution of males around to villages and other smaller cities under my kingdom, so I had to let all the males in the royal palace go, though I kept one" the queen spoke without any care.
Maria didn’t say a word; she just kept a poker face, not showing any emotion.
"The one I kept is special, and since you’re in the academy, I can’t really keep you here, so once you get my daughter pregnant, that’s all, and also, you’ll be compensated, of course, and it’s not a request" the Queen spoke as she stood up.
Maria imdiately stood up, and Ethan followed, "I’m not hungry, so go ahead and eat, you over there, co and feed him," the queen spoke as she walked away.
Both of them remained standing till the door was opened, and the queen left before sitting down.
Imdiately the maid who was told to feed Ethan walked towards the table and placed an empty plate in front of Ethan.
"What would you like?" The maid asked with her head bowed.
Ethan pointed to almost all the dishes there, even the ones he hadn’t tasted before, and the maid placed all of them in small portions in front of Ethan and began feeding him with the spoon.
The smile on the maid’s face was evidence that she was enjoying feeding Ethan more than he was enjoying the food, while Maria also had so to eat.
"Thank you," Ethan said to the maid, and she bowed her head and left with a smile on her face.
"Maria, are you afraid of the queen?" Ethan asked.
"Who isn’t afraid of the queen? She’s the queen," Maria replied.
"No, not that’s...if you and the queen were to fight who would win?" Ethan asked.
"Probably the queen; I don’t know where you were given birth to, but I’m sure you know we all fought in a bloody war, right? It’s been ten years now," Maria muttered.
"That’s right, the war"
"I’m sure you were affected, but in so villages, males were stolen especially by demons who don’t have male species, demons are made up of only females, that’s probably why there were so powerful, and if a demon mates with any of the species, she would give birth to a complete demon, there are no half-demons in the world" Maria explained.
"How was the war won?" Ethan asked.
"Which village were you in during the war, everyone in the world knows how the war ended, the elves were the first to surrender to humans and began helping humans fight, then the beastkin, then the vampires, then the dark elves, and then demons"
"I totally forgot about vampires" Ethan muttered.
"I don’t think I’ve seen one in over 7 years; they don’t associate well with others or walk under the sun; I think they’re only active during the mating period, and no one likes to mate with them because of their habits," Maria muttered.
"Habits, drinking blood while mating?" Ethan asked.
"Yes"
That was the only reason he could think of from the top of his head; from books he read, female vampires usually drink male blood during sex and are unable to stop themselves because of the pleasure till the male is dead.
"I’m leaving, it seems the princess wants so alone ti with you, you are to return to the academy today or you’ll be punished for a week after your hands heal" Maria spoke as she stood up and Ethan looked towards the door and it was closed imdiately but he caught a glimpse of a girl.
Maria walked towards the door, and it was opened by the maids, while Ethan stood up and also walked towards the door but gestured to the maids not to open it. Instead, he stood in front of the door.
After a while, the door opened a little, and once again, the girl peeked through the door, but this ti Ethan was in front of the door, and she ended up looking directly at Ethan’s face.
"Arrggh..." The Princess scread as she stumbled backward and fell to the ground.
The maids quickly rushed to attend to her, and Ethan opened the door, but she stood up imdiately and ran away; she was quite fast.
(That is Isabella’s sister, is she shy or what?)
’I think she’s shy, or why would she be peeking through the door when she’s a princess, I’m sure she knows what the queen wants to do, maybe she suggested it’

(Oh that’s true, she might be a virgin, but she’s the elder sister of Isabella and she stays in the palace all day where she has access to n if she wants)
’Well, there’s no harm in talking to a princess’
"Hi there, can you show to the princess’s room" Ethan spoke.
"Yes, follow ," the maid spoke as she bowed her head and led Ethan through the vast hallway in the palace till they arrived at a room where the maid pointed towards and then left Ethan.
*Knock Knock*
Ethan knocked on the door with his foot.
"It’s open; I thought I told you to leave alone; what’s the matter now?" the princess muttered as Ethan walked inside her room.
Her room was just magnificent, it was big and bright, with pink walls. A large, soft bed was in the middle, covered with light cloth.
The floor had a soft white rug, and there was wooden furniture like a dresser and a mirror. The tall windows let in lots of light, and the light curtains move in the breeze. The room felt warm and special, with pretty lights, flowers, and a small light hanging from the ceiling.
"Hello there," Ethan spoke, and imdiately the princess turned around as the voice she heard definitely wasn’t her maid.
