The Third Person’s POV
It has been three weeks since they brought Abby’s body back from the adow. But she has not wakened yet. Her body keeping her in a comatose condition. Matt has not left her side much since they brought her back, and all his tries to get Selene or Ophelia to show themselves has been for nothing. The witches and doctors keep saying nothing is wrong with her, but why isn’t she waking up then? These thoughts have been playing in Matt’s head ever since she landed in that bed.
’You know exactly why she hasn’t awakened,’ Blade comnts tiredly. Matt shakes his head. His guess is that only her body, not her mind, traveled back with the witches’ call. But he can be certain.
Fall is slowly giving away for winter, and today Matt has that eting with Alpha Balck, but he does not want to leave his mate. Even though he knows Ellie, Jason, or soone else will be at her side. He has not left her for long in the three weeks, only for a bathroom break or a nap. The naps don’t really count, seeing as Matt has been sleeping in the room on a sofa brought in by the staff. Thanksgiving has co and gone, but Matt didn’t want to celebrate. He spent the night with Abby and the others ca to visit. Willow demanded them to have dinner together, and they all eat together in the hospital room. Matt was grateful for them. All of them, but he really just wanted his mate to wake up.
Sotis Abby would trash and turn, like she was having a nightmare or inner battle. These tis, Matt would crawl into bed with her, hold her close and tell her how loved she was by everyone. Especially him. His wolf has been eerily quiet ever since Abby ca back from the adow. Almost like he is hibernating until his mate is back. Matt can still feel his presence, but he is not speaking or moving.
"Matt, the Alpha of white mountain is here." Kaiden says from the door. He hates seeing his Alpha like this, but understands. He would be the sa if it was his mate laying there.
"Will you sit with her?" Matt’s hoarse voice asks. Kaiden is torn. He wants to be there for Matt in the eting, but knows Matt wouldn’t leave Abby with anyone else for as long as that eting can last.
"Of course. I will stay by her side until you return from the eting and mind-link you with any change." Kaiden concedes. Matt stands up, kisses Abby on the forehead, and turns. The haunted expression in his eyes was clear. He sighs, looks at Abby one more ti before he leaves the room.
"Alpha Black, if you will follow in here. Is this your mate?" Matt asks the dark man in front of him. The Alpha nods.
"Yes, this is my Sami. She is a hybrid, turned by after I marked her. She is half vampire and half wolf now. Originally born as a vampire princess." Matt sends the girl a tired smile.
"Alpha Blue, we can co back so other ti. You seem distressed and tired?" Sami’s soft voice speaks up. Matt shakes his head.
"It’s just Matthew or Matt. I never was keen on the title thing. And I am tired, Luna Sami. My mate.. She is not well, and.." The words won’t co out. His hope is still that she will wake up, but he knows that by now the chance it is slim to none.
"Matthew, you can call Benjamin and my mate Sami. We are here to help and bring forth an alliance. We stand on good terms with the Hamilton family, seeing as Sami is related to them. But if you need us to co another ti.." Matt shakes his head again. He knows how important this eting is, and Abby would want him to do it.
"I just.. I miss her, and it’s been three weeks already. I know any hope I have left, it’s a small one. Maybe a fool’s one." Tears threaten to spill, but Matt holds them back. This will not help Abby.
"Can I see her? I don’t know if I can help her, but.. Wait, your mate’s na is Abby? What is her wolfs na?" Sami asks, eyes wide.
"Her wolfs na is Galaxy. Why?" Matt answers, not knowing why she wants to know.
"Please take to her. Maybe I can help. If only there were others.. But even if it is just .." The last part was said mostly to herself, but Matt catch on quickly, the star wolfs.
"You are a star wolf, aren’t you?" He asks and imdiately knows he is right. Sami nods.
"Co with ." He says and stands. He mind-links Brandon to bring Morgan to the hospital with him.
When they arrive, Morgan stands outside Abby’s room. Already prepared for the task at hand. She sensed the other star wolf when she arrived on the territory. When Matt, Benjamin and Sami arrive, Sami stops in the tracks. There before her stands another hybrid, another star wolf. Her sister in every way but blood. They lock eyes and know they have to wait a minute before entering.
Ellie has told no one, but she and Jason finished the mating and marking. After her talk with Abby, seeing her sister being kidnapped by a goddess, return and be in a coma left her not wanting to wait. She talked to Jason a couple of days after Abby returned. She told him about her talk, her fears and her doubts. Jason was the sweetest. He listened to Ellie speak for the longest ti before he silenced her with a passionate kiss.
No more words were necessary. They made love and Jason marked her. The pain was nothing like what she imagined, but worse. It started suddenly and disappeared just as suddenly. Her head then hurt a lot, like soone was banging from the inside, and then she heard the voice.
The voice had presented herself as Vega, after the brightest star in the northern sky. She was sweet and sassy, just like Ellie, and not at all disgusted by her counterpart being a demon. Vega was curious, but nothing more. She could see the true nature of her counterpart, and knew how much goodness was inside of her.
About three weeks after Abby returned, Ellie feels a pull towards Silver Mist’s pack grounds. That is not weird, since Abby and Galaxy are there, but this pull is a lot stronger.
Ellie ignores it for so ti, but suddenly Vega howls of joy in her head.
