Hearing what the system had said, telling him that the battle he had undergo in the first place was actually just a tutorial made him almost insane.
[From this mont onward, real training will comnce. Which ans death will now be added]
[Note: Death within the White Room is a controlled psychological reset, it will strengthen the host’s ntal resistance and accelerates neural adaptation]
[Repeated deaths will gradually desensitize the host’s fear response and improve instinctive combat precision]
[In short, dying is now part of your growth cycle an essential process to forge both body and mind under extre stress]
"What the heck system! Are you serious about this?" Jeff felt like he wanted to scream in agony but he cannot vent it out.
Even though he wanted to curse and argue with the system, he knew it wouldn’t care no matter what he said.
"Then let ask you this. Are you telling that before, when I was still at the first level, death wasn’t included, but now that I’ve reached the third level, I actually have to face death itself?" he asked, his expression was grim.
[Yes Host. Death was excluded from both levels one and two. However, since you advanced by skipping a level, the function of death has now been activated.]
"I see," Jeff muttered with a sigh.
"So it’s just my luck for progressing too fast in cultivation."
He had thought reaching level three was sothing to celebrate, but it seed that luck wasn’t exactly on his side after all.
"Then, if the tutorial has ended, shouldn’t there be a reward?" he asked, hoping that at the very least, he would be compensated for everything that will go from now on.
[Yes there is]
Then the system glowed and a new panel appeared.
[Hidden Mission: Complete the White Room Tutorial Phase
Ti: 2 years
Reward: Upgrade Capsule]
...
"What the two years? Are you serious it’s not eve hard at all," he muttered since the difficulty that this hidden mission set was very easy.
[You are simply very lucky, Host. In this world, finding a treasure filled with kinetic energy is nearly impossible. If it weren’t for your luck in discovering that necklace, which has stored kinetic energy for over three hundred years due to its strange craftsmanship, reaching the third level within two years would have been impossible.]
[Normally, it would take at least three years to reach that stage, and you call it easy?]
Hearing the system’s explanation, Jeff was left stunned.
The necklace had actually been storing kinetic energy for the past three centuries, no wonder its effects were so powerful.
"Well, since luck is one of my skills, I guess it really is easy," he said, nodding with a smile.
[Well, I can’t argue with that. Go ahead and check your reward.]
When he received the reward, it appeared inside his system inventory.
However, he quickly noticed sothing strange he couldn’t take it out.
That confused him, since this kind of inventory worked differently from what he had seen in gas or read about in novels.
He couldn’t store anything inside it, and he couldn’t take any item out either. With a puzzled look, he asked,
"System, how do I use this Upgrade Capsule?"
[Just go to your skill and choose what to upgrade]
Following what the system had said he went into his skill panel, but it was locked.
[Currently in training]
Seeing that his skill panel was locked, he didn’t ask any further.
It was clear that the restriction existed because he was still in the middle of his training and couldn’t afford any distractions.
The system noticing that he understands, seed to nod in approval.
With that, the battle began once again and this ti, he died multiple tis.
Each fight ended within seconds, but through those countless deaths, he gradually learned how to control his strength.
When the ten hours of endless struggle finally ca to an end, he exhaled deeply, feeling a wave of relief wash over him.
After it all ended, he was more experienced than ever before. The childish expression he once carried had completely disappeared.
He had grown more mature, his eyes sharper, and the aura around him now resembled that of a warrior who had survived countless life-and-death battles.
Calling out to the system once more, he opened his skill nu to see which of his abilities he could upgrade.
...
Skill:
[Perfect English] [Godly Programming] [2x Earning] [Kinetic Vein Art]
...
Without a mont of hesitation, he selected "Godly Programming" and pressed the upgrade option, excitent building within him as he imagined what it would beco after the enhancent.
But his excitent quickly faded when the system replied.
[The Upgrade Capsule level is too low]
Hearing that, he froze in confusion. He had thought there were no limits to upgrades, but it turned out there actually were.
Staring at the red capsule in his inventory, he couldn’t help but sigh, starting to think that maybe this reward wasn’t as great as he had hoped.
"What about Kinetic Vein Art," he muttered, selecting it next.
But the sa ssage appeared, making his face darker than charcoal.
"This upgrade capsule is more useless than I thought," he said, shaking his head in disappointnt.
With a sigh, he looked at another option, "Perfect English."
When he clicked it, the system showed that the capsule was compatible.
His brows furrowed instantly. What could possibly happen if he upgraded this?
Would it make him able to talk to animals or sothing ridiculous like that?
After thinking it over for a while, he suddenly rembered his "2x Earning" skill.
When he clicked on it, the system showed it was compatible, which made him a bit happier. After all, anything related to money was far more useful than "Perfect English."
[Upgrade?]
Without hesitation, he confird it. The system panel glowed brightly, and a wave of light spread before his eyes as the new skill began to take form.
