CHAPTER 252
Rushing up to get to the elevator, Jade placed a hand on her chest as she waited for it to pen. The second it did, she jumped in and press the floor on which she was going.
Her mind and heart were one in this stance. All she wanted was to apologize to him and she was going to be okay. With those thoughts in mind, the elevator opened and she raced to the room door.
As she ran, her gaze did not fail to glance on the other four doors opposite of their room. She felt warmth creep into her heart when she did.
She was in love and no longer was she going to hide it from him. Not anymore.
Finally, she reached the door and stopped. The designs once more pulled her mind to the fact that she was dating the richest bachelor in Star Cross City and the Dragon Lord for that matter.
All of this should be unbelievable, yet he still chose her. Her heart was thudding fast in her chest as she took in a deep breath as her left hand clutched on her chest while the right hand lifted to land a knock on the door.
Just when her hand was about to touch the door, she heard the elevator sound and snapped her head to the side.
Ding!
It opened, revealing a young man in a butler uniform. At one glance one would think of him as no more than twenty-three but since this was Xander's secret mansion, she did not need a second telling that he was a dragon and would be older than that.
"Greetings, My Lady."
"Evening."
"I am sorry for the disturbance but Lord Xander asked to leave you with a ssage."
Ba-DUM!
The sound of her heartbeat was almost making her eardrums burst but she did not move much and waited patiently for his ssage. If only he knew she was anything but patient in her mind.
'Wait a minute, did he leave ? Was he angry because of today? I ssed up big ti, didn't I? I should have not left him like that in the first place. Should I just shit the butler up? I do not think I want to hear this ssage. It would break my heart.' Jade thought within her.
"Umm, Lady Jade, I think... No, are you following ?"
"Huh? I do not get."
"Sorry." He smiled brightly at her. "I would recap."
'No, no, no... Please do not say.' She chanted, ntally.
"I said, Lord Xander, asked to inform you of his early departure. He is not in and went back to the city to have a look at so things about the earlier attack you and Lord Sky and Lady Jenny faced."
"Oh..."
"Yes. He may return every late so he asked that you do not wait up for him and please have a lovely night rest."
"How does he expect to have a lovely night rest if he isn't here with ?" Jade lashed out, shocking the butler.
"Umm," he lifted his hand to scratch his head a bit before placing both hands behind his back. "I am not so sure about that I think he wants you to stay in here yourself."
"Huh..." she was shocked. She had least expected for him to respond to that because she never thought she said it out until now.
Her brows kneaded as so lines of wrinkles ford on her forehead but it did not hide the beauty of her lovely blue eyes that looked on in anger and both confusion. "Did you read my thoughts?"
"No, Lady Jade. Except you call you speaking out loud your thoughts then yes. Other than that, nope. I dare not interfere in your privacy."
"Wait. You an to say that you, dragons in general can read other people's thoughts?"

It felt like a brick was thrown on his head. How was he going to explain things to her without her opening* up to Xander later? From one look t her, he could tell just how curious she was. And if Xander had not told her so things then it would be bad if he did.
"I asked a question umm... I didn't get your na."
"Ah, it's Drake, My Lady. And the answer to your question. No, we cannot read minds, but mates can read each other's minds. Also," he raised his pointy finger in a lecturing manner. "We can sense your fear and feelings if you let it out. Be it anger, jealousy, love, lust, hor..."
He had not gotten the chance to complete his words when Jade cut him, silencing him abruptly and keeping him from saying the word.
"Stop. I think I understand."
"If you say so." He painted his smile with her while looking more charming and relatable. 'Tsk, I bet Lord Xander had been able to sense her around... Shut it, Drake. She is going to be queen. You shouldn't think in that direction. Father is going to be mad and scold you if he finds out. Now leave before your naughty brain does more.'
After scolding himself ntally, he looked up to her again and smiled before bowing his head. "Now, my lady if you would excuse . I'm an open the door for you to go in and keep the keys with you."
"No. There would be no need for that. I would return to my room."
'But that is for guests. The master instructed that I let you in. Tsk, I cannot tell her that anyways. I thought net coming here ant she was coming back to him. Sigh my mind. If only I hadn't heard this conversation, in the afternoon.' He let out another sigh before nodding his head.
"As you wish. I would let Lord Xander know when he returns."
"No. Do not inform him that I ca. Do not disturb him either. I am fine."
"Are you sure, My Lady?"
"Yes. I would head back now. I do not want to occupy his privacy when he is not around."
'Co on! Why are ladies always stubborn, no matter the race? Lord Xander loves you and does not consider anything private with you. Why can't she just loosen up a bit? Urgh! I wish I could just say my mind. She is his mate. Sigh!'
He shook his head in his mind as an eerie thought ca to mind.
'Drake, rember you are to take care of his majesty and not allow him to suffer. Also do not pocknose into his love life but shoo away those stupid girls from him save for the one he would love.'
Those words said by that person was like a constant reminder in Drake's mind.
'Sigh, the father he has found the girl but you didn't tell she would be this stubborn. I feel for Lord Xander. He doesn't deserve this hurt.' He facepald himself ntally but outside, he maintained his charm.
"Very well. As you wish," he managed to pull a nice smile.
"Thank you, Drake."
"Welco, My Lady.."Saying that he watched as she took her to leave before departing as well.
