Ronan still disagreed. It took a long ti to convince the man because neither of them wanted to give in to the other. For the first ti, Ronan and Arielle slept with their backs to each other.
Arielle was sure that if she found out what happened to Birwick after Princess Cecillia left, they could get so crucial information. They just needed to get Maxieno to open his mouth. From Maxieno’s silent attitude without showing the slightest bit of interest, Arielle knew that the man was keeping sothing and would never want to share it with her.
Arielle turned to look at her husband’s back. However, Ronan got up, grabbed his mask and coat, and left their room, leaving her alone.
Why was the man looking so mad? Arielle still didn’t understand. It was all for their own good. However, why was Ronan so stubborn as if what she did was wrong?
Arielle gripped the pillow. She was busy blaming Ronan. However, her little heart scread at her that all of this was due to her own stubbornness. Of course, Ronan would be mad. Her husband must be worried.
Arielle needed to injure herself to et Maxieno. Which husband wanted to see his wife hurt herself like that? Arielle was speechless. She was the worst. She wasn’t sensitive to this.
Arielle stood and sat by the window while drawing the curtains, looking at the blizzard in front of her. She hoped Ronan didn’t go anywhere and just went to his office to rest. She would give the man so ti and space before apologizing to him in the morning.
Arielle kept looking at the snow until morning ca. She couldn’t sleep all night because she thought of sentences to apologize to Ronan. She would apologize for forcing the man to agree to her idea.
Ronan had given up a lot of things for her, and Arielle couldn’t be more selfish than this. She would obey her husband’s wish to wait until the invitation letter from Thebis arrived and see the results of their eting with the dragon clan. If it didn’t work, Arielle needed to ask Ronan to accept her condition.
"Huft ... I have to be able to deal with it."
Arielle imdiately grabbed her coat and followed Ronan to his office. However, as she just ca out of the door, she t the man who had just arrived.
"Eh? R-Ronan, you are here?"
"Arielle, co here."
Arielle was so surprised when Ronan ca into their room and pulled her to co with him. The man told her to sit on the couch for a mont, then put a basket full of potions and ointnts on the table.
"What is this?"
Ronan took out a transparent gel-shaped ointnt.
"This gel will make the sared area go numb. You only need to apply this gel and wait five minutes before you break the seal of the agreent. That way, when you hurt yourself, you won’t feel any pain. Also, this potion is a blood boosting potion. Even though it won’t hurt, you will still lose blood. Drink this potion after you co back to your senses."
"Ronan..."
"And you have to do it in my presence. You are not allowed to hurt yourself without my supervision. These dicines will help you so that you can do it comfortably. I won’t let you feel any pain. When I say you need a break, then you can’t hurt yourself. Those are my conditions. I will add another one after I look at your condition, whether you need other preventive asures from or not."
Arielle was brimming with emotion. All night, she thought that Ronan was mad at her. She felt very sad because she made the person she loved leave in a terrible mood, even turning his back on her. Arielle also had refrained herself from crying the entire night.
She stood up and hugged her husband tightly.
"Arielle? What’s wrong?" asked Ronan who was confused because Arielle was crying so suddenly.
"Hey, hey, hey, what happened? Does the wound from yesterday still hurt?" He asked worriedly.
Ronan then lifted his wife’s body and put her on his lap.
"Hey, why are you crying? Tell , Sweetheart. What makes my wife cry?"
Arielle loosened her embrace and Ronan helped her wipe away her tears.
"HIks... I thought... y-you were mad at ..."
"Huh? What?"
"Y-you left last night. Our talk didn’t end well because of my selfishness. I thought you were mad because I was stubborn. You went to the office to keep your distance from . So that’s why I wanted to follow you there, but you were already at my door."
"? Keeping my distance from you? Arielle, even when we argue, you know I always hug you in my sleep, right? That is a very unlikely thing to happen! I ca out because I thought you were asleep. I’m out to get the potions as well as the dicines... so you can et that dragon without feeling any pain."
"But..."
Ronan kissed Arielle’s wet cheeks.
"Arielle, you know... out of everything I care about, I only care about your comfort. The reason I rejected the idea was because I knew that doing it was painful and I didn’t want you to feel pain. That’s why I consulted the doctor who also happened to see what you did last night."
"So that ans I can do it?"
Ronan returned Arielle’s hug, then nodded.
"Of course, on the conditions that I gave earlier. Can you do it?" he asked.
Arielle also nodded and returned her husband’s warm embrace.
"Yeah. I understand. Thank you very much, Ronan."
"Oh, Arielle... I still can’t believe you thought I was mad at you. That was the funniest thing I had ever heard."
Arielle buried her face in Ronan’s shoulder. Her ears felt hot from embarrassnt. She didn’t know why she thought like that. This was all because of Ronan’s cold attitude last night. It made Arielle overthinking.
Arielle and Ronan went back to discussing their agreent once again. This ti, the two spoke with a more open mind. They tried to listen to each other’s reasons so they could understand it more until they both ca to an agreent that Arielle was allowed to et with Maxieno every two days under the conditions that Ronan had proposed.
