Queen Rosalie and the king’s concubines always said that a wedding that happened outside the palace’s Cathedral never counted as a legal marriage. So they always thought of the white-haired woman as a servant. They made her life suffer.
The woman told King Hugo that she did not want to live in the palace. She always asked King Hugo to return her to their old manor, but King Hugo didn’t listen. He didn’t want her to be out of his reach. Especially when his wife was pregnant with their child.
The more the woman asked to return to the manor, the colder King Hugo’s attitude beca. Heartbroken by the attitude of the people of the palace, the woman finally fled.
King Hugo searched for months until one day, he received the news of a white-haired woman who died after giving birth in a Cathedral in the border area of Nieverdell.

A friend of his wife, who was also a servant at the manor nad Tania, was also willing to take care of Arielle because she reminded her of her old friend. King Hugo never once spoke of this to Arielle or his other children.
Maybe if he brought Arielle to his manor, so people there would think that his wife had been reincarnated into a new life, but King Hugo never did.
The man opened the last page containing his wife’s last letter before she died. There was a bloodstain at the end of the yellowed paper. It was a sign that his wife was in a very bad condition at the end of her life.
If only he had found her sooner, maybe he could have saved his wife. Or at least ease her pain. But it was too late. He could only see his wife, who was lifeless in a coffin. The man only read his wife’s na without rereading the contents of the letter because he knew if he started reading it again, he would only sink back into sadness.
There was a knock on the door, and a servant appeared.
"What is it?" the king asked coldly.
"Queen Rosalie wishes to see you, Your Majesty."
King Hugo let out a long breath. He returned to his work chair and returned the book he had kept for twenty years to its original place, locked it tightly.
"Send her in," he said.
The door to the room opened wider.
"Husband, what exactly is going on in the North? Why do Alexis and Andrea look so restless? When I asked, they don’t want to talk at all. I, as their mother, am very worried about them."
King Hugo grabbed his pen and then pretended to read the report in front of him. Looking completely uninterested in his wife’s worries.
"Maybe they’re just tired," he replied casually.
"Husband..."
Queen Rosalie just looked at her husband sadly.
"You seem very busy. Maybe I’ll co back another ti," the woman said and then turned to leave the king’s study.
King Hugo just shook his head and continued to busy himself to forget his confused feelings from rembering his past.

The next day, the palace was shocked by the arrival of Northendell’s representatives. The envoy had stood in front of the palace gates on their horses.
The dining table suddenly beca silent. Alexis stiffened, and the rest of his siblings looked at each other and started whispering. The man glanced at his father, who looked unperturbed by the presence of the northerners.
"About Arielle-"
"Later, Alexis." King Hugo took a sip of his wine and then wiped his lips with a napkin.
Queen Rosalie looked at Alexis and her husband in turn. She had a bad feeling about this. Since yesterday, she couldn’t get any information even from Andrea. She glanced at her eldest daughter and furrowed her brows in confusion.
Weirdly enough, Andrea looked enthusiastic. She had a big smile on her face.
"Is His Majesty King Ronan coming along?" Andrea asked in a whisper to Alexis. The whisper was also heard by Queen Rosalie’s ears.
"I hope the man cos along so I can bring him to his knees in the South," Alexis said curtly, making Andrea chuckle in annoyance.
"I will welco them. Alexis is coming with ," King Hugo said, leaving the dining table followed by Alexis from behind.
Although unsolicited, Andrea also walked beside Alexis, making the man roll his eyes.
"Don’t get your hopes up, Andrea. I won’t agree."
"It’s none of your business," Andrea replied curtly back. She did not listen to her brother’s warning.
Alexis and Andrea followed King Hugo into the palace hall to welco the Northerners. Their presence was quite surprising, especially after it was only yesterday that Andrea and Alexis arrived at the palace.
This ans the envoy might have caught up quickly a few days after Alexis and Andrea left the Northern palace.
While walking towards the palace hall, King Hugo wondered about the purpose of the Northerners visiting them unannounced. Did this have anything to do with Arielle? What did they want from her? The man put on his official golden robe and sat on the throne.
Alexis sat not far from him.

William was accompanied by two advisors, and several knights arrived early. They rode without rest and were now waiting in front of the palace gates.
From the corner of his eye, he caught a black hooded figure hiding in one of the groves of trees. The man was Ronan himself in disguise.
