Back when he was in college, he hacked into the internal system of a leading foreign corporation. Thankfully, it was just a whim at the ti, and he didn’t take any further action. If he had randomly altered so business figures, the whole stock market might have been in turmoil the next day.
Shi Aoju responded with an indifferent "Hmm."
Su Jiuyi and Su Manning walked into the Su Family’s main gate together. Su Manning sneaked a few glances at her, probably wanting to ask her sothing.
The sisters’ relationship was lukewarm. Su Jiuyi wasn’t very talkative at ho, so their communication was minimal; as for their relationship, it wasn’t even as deep as that between friends.
"Sister, was that person just now your friend?" Driven by curiosity, Su Manning couldn’t help but ask.
"Colleague." Su Jiuyi answered simply.
The boss could also be considered a kind of colleague, right?
"What job does Sister have, that her colleague is so rich?" Trying to ease the sowhat awkward atmosphere, Su Manning smiled affectionately, her dark eyes sparkling.
What job? Su Jiuyi smiled self-deprecatingly. Should she say a cleaner or a barmaid?
Neither was a glamorous profession.
Su Jiuyi remained silent, apparently not intending to answer the question.
Seeing her lack of interest in chatting, Su Manning sensibly didn’t ask further. Just then, a servant ca over, breaking the awkward tension between them.
"Young Miss, the master is looking for you."
Ever since their mother passed away, Su Jiuyi had almost no interaction with Su Zhenxiong.
She still rembered when she was seven and got into a fight with a male classmate at school. The boy had said that she had a mother but no father to raise her, and in a fit of anger, she punched him in the nose, causing it to bleed all over the ground.
That was the first ti Su Zhenxiong went to Su Jiuyi’s school. He paid the boy’s dical expenses and soothed the boy’s parents.
Su Jiuyi stood by quietly watching, refusing to concede or to back down, which eventually led to the boy’s parents again berating her as ill-mannered.
Even now, Su Jiuyi still rembered the look that Su Zhenxiong gave her at that ti, like he was looking at a stray cat in a garbage heap with disdain.
Since then, she beca eccentric, unwilling to get close to others and refusing to let others get close to her.
Her father, the only family she had left in the world, had also beco a re figurehead.
So, the relationship between Su Jiuyi and Su Zhenxiong was very shallow as well.
Upon entering the study, as usual, Su Jiuyi didn’t knock. She stood quietly in front of the desk, looking at her father who was smoking. The smoke wreathed around, obscuring his expression.
"Where were you during the engagent banquet yesterday?" Su Zhenxiong coughed several tis, extinguished the cigarette, and looked directly at Su Jiuyi.
"At a hotel." She answered succinctly.
"What have you been busy with lately?"
"Working."
Her eyes glanced at the proposal on the table, the signed client being the Song Family, and she thought to herself that this marriage was indeed related to work.
Since their mother died, everything Su Zhenxiong had done was for work. Now, even his own daughter was a bargaining chip for work.
It was truly terrifying.
"Do you think I don’t know you’re working at Ciaos?" Su Zhenxiong’s voice was a bit harsher.
"Hmm."
Su Jiuyi’s nonchalant deanor made Su Zhenxiong a bit angry. He slapped the table hard, his face turning red with anger, and he began to cough violently.
"I’m already an adult; it’s my freedom to work wherever I choose. Moreover, Father, you never cared about my affairs since I was young, so why bother now," Su Jiuyi’s tone was firm and righteous, "Sorry, I’m tired. You should rest early too."
