Lin Wanzhou's stint as a temporary guest on the show "Love Hunter" was organized by Wen Yun. The plan was to let Lin Wanzhou have so fun and relax for a few days before returning to focus on her songwriting.
There were many reasons contributing to this decision, one of which was the company's unfair treatnt, withholding resources from Lin Wanzhou for the final half year of her contract unless she agreed to renew for another ten years, at which point they would promote her.
Of course, Wen Yun wouldn't agree to such terms. A ten-year contract is sothing offered to newcors as a buyout guarantee. With Lin Wanzhou's current popularity, a three-year or even a two-year contract would be more reasonable.
But without the company's support, production of the new album was impossible. As the release date for the album drew closer, there wasn't even a shadow of a lead single.
The popularity of her last album was also gradually decreasing, and endorsents were hitting walls. With new artists constantly erging, if things continued like this, she would inevitably follow in the footsteps of Pei Muchan.
But to actually go to Chen Laogou to buy songs was out of the question, not to ntion Lin Wanzhou's reluctance, Wen Yun also had no desire to deal with that man.
Still in his forties but never acting his age, not only did he ask for sky-high prices. He also fantasized all day about fooling resource-less young girls into accompanying him to silver parties.
Next, at the critical mont, the strategist Qi Ting pointed out a clear path.
"Sister Yun, I have a plan."
....
In the black Audi car, Qi Ting wore an exquisite won's suit, looking mature and capable.
The car was from the branch company, delivered to her upon landing. She was not used to driving it. The speed limit on the island's roads made her feel even more frustrated.
By sheer coincidence, Qi Ting just happened to see Xu Qingyan driving a girl away. She was shocked at first, but also took pride in her own cleverness.
The rubbish company fails to act, Sister Zhou Zhou obsesses over love, and Sister Yun is helpless, only getting anxious. It seems I'm the only one who can take action, holding the advantage at this point.
That so-called old fla turns out to be nothing special, just an ordinary person. Unless a man doesn't breathe, there's no such thing as a faithful heart.
She believed Sister Zhou Zhou was simply carried away by a temporary infatuation with the old fla filter. Sister Zhou Zhou had lived such a hard life in recent years, which is why she had idolized a particular image of soone.
The most impressive thing about the old fla was that, even when the person themselves showed up, they could not beat the impression from the past. But as one gets closer, the filter will be shattered.
The best old fla is not the one that goes bad, but the one that dies.
Qi Ting also rembered her own old fla, which still moved her whenever she thought about it, until one day she ca across his cringy video on social dia.
She didn't want to dwell on the embarrassing past; now she wouldn't dare to contact her past crush even if she had the guts. She knew her romantic obsession was incurable; she blad herself for being foolish and feared being reminded of the embarrassnt.
With a screech of the brakes, Qi Ting turned to Lin Wanzhou, who was napping in the backseat, and said,
"Sister, we've arrived."
The love cabin, day four.
Xu Qingyan, having finished breakfast, was racing back in the car, while Shen Jinyue, with her belly full, leant against the backseat looking like she was at death's door, the two of them having managed to devour enough to make up for the six hundred-dollar ticket price.
The car was equipped with the show's car-mounted caras, and the live comnts kept the mood light and humorous along the way. The focus of the teasing was mostly on Shen Jinyue, with many viewers already claiming they had switched to being her fans.
"Shen Jinyue, you're amazing, you finished everything on the table."
"What are you saying!" Shen Jinyue puffed up in anger. "There are many ways to insult , but you chose the most cruel one!"
"Don't get wrong, this is a complint," Xu Qingyan said casually.
His driving style was sowhat lazy, steering with one hand, resting the other on the gear lever, and habitually coasting in neutral down long slopes—a typical experienced driver.
Shen Jinyue glanced at him through the rear-view mirror and noticed that he looked quite handso in a dark gray sports shirt over black pants.
Xu Qingyan was fair-skinned with a tall and well-proportioned body, and his facial features were clean and smooth. He had thin eyelids, and when he looked at soone, his gaze was deep; his dark pupils were like sharp needles.
He wasn't particularly unusual when joking around, but when he was silent, his eyes seed cold and detached. His emotions appeared sowhat numb, giving off an unapproachable aura.
Shen Jinyue suddenly beca curious about this man's past and blinked before asking,
"Xu Qingyan, what did you do before joining the show?"
"Odd jobs."
"What do you an?"
"Go to interviews, beat the competition to death, snatch a job."
"Huh????" Shen Jinyue looked bewildered and even took the ti to search on Baidu if 'odd jobs' ant that, then abruptly raised her head, "You're lying to !"
The corners of his mouth curved, "In my past life, I committed murder and arson. In this life, I'm working off the debt."
The island highway was wide and straight, filled with the sounds of seagulls and the tide, with few people around. Blowing in the sea breeze, Shen Jinyue squinted her eyes and then suddenly said,
"Xu Qingyan, after the show is over, will you go to Jianye for fun?"
What responded to her was a slightly prolonged silence. He continued to lazily handle the steering wheel as if he hadn't heard Shen Jinyue speak, his deanour remaining languid.
At the steep turn by the cliff, the tires rolled over the wet pavent. His eyes shifted slightly, and he glanced at Shen Jinyue through the rearview mirror before replying,
"I'm busy, no ti."
"You're lying again!" Shen Jinyue was sowhat unhappy, gazing out at the seascape through the car window, frowning.
Xu Qingyan didn't continue speaking. He didn't want to bother explaining to the young lady why so people are destined to work their whole lives. Why, no matter how hard so people try, they can't overco the fickleness of fate.
If life deviates even one in ten thousand, it becos suffering. Fate is like a narrow gate on a cliff's edge, through which a few pass, while the majority fall.
"Fine, don't go then!" Shen Jinyue turned her face away, "With only three days left after today, I won't get angry with you for now."
"Uh-huh."
He saw at the end of the road the Love House, with a large green tree at the front. The car slowed down, even parking was done by maneuvering the steering wheel.
He stopped the car with one smooth motion, stamped on the brake, and pulled up the handbrake with a clack.
"Get out."
Shen Jinyue seed to have a naturally forgetful nature. After getting out of the car, she skipped excitedly toward the Love House. Xu Qingyan followed unhurriedly behind. He knew that the two of them were simply not from the sa world.
Once the show was over, let alone hanging out together, even becoming friends would be difficult. Shen Jinyue needed amusing friends, to experience carefree drifting and indulgence everywhere.
Xu Qingyan was nearly going insane from poverty and certainly didn't have the mood to accompany the young lady on her pleasure-seeking.
Walking past the little garden of the Love House, he noticed a black Audi parked on the vacant lot nearby, which looked familiar—it seed to be the sa one from the morning.
A guest parachuted in by the production team?
He paused for a second, carefully recalling the young woman's appearance from the morning. Hm... Was she soone the production team selected from their internal staff?
After a mont's thought, Xu Qingyan continued walking toward the living room on the first floor of the Love House. Along the way, he took out his phone and discovered a ssage from Lin Wanzhou.
Upon opening it, the content sowhat puzzled him.
"Long ti no see."
Hm? Haven't we been talking all along?
