"The company isn't paying a salary, so why should I listen to them? There's a saying, 'The vassal of my liege is not my vassal.'

'What ti the day after tomorrow, Sister Zhou Zhou? I'll get ready.'

'No need, soone is giving a ride.' She feigned composure.

'Huh????' Qi Ting was stunned, looked at Lin Wanzhou, and then pondered for a while with her head down.

Damn! What kind of epic joker?

'Don't get wrong, I'm asking him for so information about the new song, which is part of my job too.' Lin Wanzhou cleared her throat and said with so difficulty.

'Right, Ting Ting?'

Qi Ting: '...'

...

After turning down Li Zhenhong, Xu Qingyan took out his phone to check his balance.

Mu Chan Studio transferred two hundred thousand yesterday, with the remark 'Qing Tian' deposit. After sending two hundred thousand to his mother, he had a total of three hundred thousand left on him.

Originally, he wanted to give his mother four hundred and fifty thousand to have his uncles oversee the demolition and reconstruction of the old family house, but Ms. Zhang Hongi did not agree.

What puzzled him was... his mother didn't seem to ask how he earned the money, how he made nearly a million in a month, whether it was robbing a bank, or sothing like that.

Once, he asked specifically, and Ms. Zhang Hongi vaguely said, 'I don't interfere with you youngsters' work, as long as it's not illegal.'

That's fine, when did she beco so open-minded?

But he didn't go out of his way to ask further, figuring his mother must have had a change of heart after recovering from a serious illness. What's the word...?

Letting go.

Children and grandchildren create their own fortune, indeed there's no need to ddle unnecessarily.

After taking another careful look at the balance, he lay on the desk and silently opened the car browsing app. It's not that he wasn't accustod to driving an Audi A8, but he preferred driving a car he purchased himself.

After looking around, he fancied a moderate car and decided to wait for the 'Qing Tian' royalty or the deposit for 'The One I Miss' to arrive, and then buy it when his funds were more ample.

The big music platforms settled accounts monthly, usually on the second day of the month. He figured it would be today or tomorrow, not too long to wait.

In other words, in a couple of days, his inco was going to skyrocket again. And then plateau... then a stable inco for a while, and then it would gradually decline.

He had estimated in his free ti that these two songs could bring him at least three million in revenue.

Although the cycle to get the settlent in hand was long, he could receive seven or eight hundred thousand in the early stages. This inco was quite impressive among musicians.

In the afternoon, he left the neighboring arrangent room and returned to the office dedicated to the two of them.

Pei Muchan wasn't there; he had no idea where she had gone off to.

Lately, she had been busy preparing her own new album, having to write songs herself, record 'Always So Quiet,' and prepare for the new song's MV.

Although Pei Muchan had casually ntioned him helping with the album before, she beca stubborn when it ca down to it, insisting on writing a song herself.

Xu Qingyan was pleased with this outco; if he really had to work on the album, he would be too busy.

One should eat one bite at a ti. Album production can take months. For now, he would watch and wait. Pei Muchan's songwriting skills were strong, and writing songs was just a matter of inspiration.

He briefly organized his work plan and found that the next month didn't seem too busy.

At around four o'clock, Pei Muchan ca back wearing big sunglasses.

She threw her bag on the sofa and clacked back to the desk in her heels. Xu Qingyan looked up and t Pei Muchan's eyes directly.

'Not going well?'

'Yeah, it's still the MV script.' She took a deep breath, leaned back in her computer chair, visibly exhausted, 'It's not the effect I want.'

Pei Muchan had been struggling with the MV script for 'Always So Quiet' for the past few days, consulting several studios but not getting a satisfactory proposal.

'If there's no script, just make one yourself.' He lounged in his chair, playing with his phone, his voice lazy.

'You make one for to see?' Pei Muchan laughed, provoked, 'You wrote the song.'

'That's a different charge.'

'Money-grubber!' Pei Muchan spat at him.

'Just kidding.' Xu Qingyan put down his phone, 'I do actually have a draft, but it might not be possible to shoot the whole MV.'

```
"What script?" she blinked in surprise.
She had only ntioned it in passing, but it turned out there really was a script.
"Xianxia."
"Huh??" Her head began to ache instantly, figures...
This was clearly a love song about unrequited love, and the scenes she could imagine were of a modern urban love triangle. Yet the original author blurted out two words, xianxia!!
What did this have to do with xianxia? Was it a tale of heartbreak set in a xianxia world?
"Yes, just a vague idea for now, a three-minute MV, so the plot could be kept simple," Xu Qingyan scribbled on a piece of paper as he started to jot down so ideas.
He had a few options in mind, with Immortal Sword coming to mind first. But with his current abilities, writing a full script was still a challenge. Fortunately, Pei Muchan only needed a three-minute script.
Actually, MV scripts didn't require extensive storytelling, nor did they need a logically structured narrative—they just had to make a strong impression, clearly conveying the story in the shortest ti possible.
In other words, while filming a drama needed to follow a strict sequence, an MV could be anything. The audience wouldn't look too closely; they just needed to be deeply impressed, using it as a tool to kindle their emotions.
"The core idea is being the underdog, and the only principle is the order of appearance," he said.
"How about writing about the daughter of the Martial Arts Alliance Hierarch who marries the Chief of Shushan, in search for the protagonist's old fla... but that doesn't seem quite right, let's write about a princess who threw herself into a sword furnace a thousand years ago."
Pei Muchan stared blankly at him, and it took her a while to snap out of it.
"Is the order of appearance really that important?" she asked.
"Huh?" Xu Qingyan looked puzzled. "It's not that important. Anyway, the script is only three minutes long, we could make so changes, and it wouldn't be a big problem."
"Are you going to act in the MV yourself?"
"Of course not, I can't act." Pei Muchan shook her head. "Let's hire actors, find a professional company to take care of it, they'll handle everything."
"Then the script can be even wilder, hey, what kind of styles do you like?" His ideas were getting more outlandish as he spoke, and Pei Muchan couldn't help but cover her face.
"Why do you have so many bizarre ideas in your head?" she asked.
"It just so happened that you asked, so I ntioned it offhand." Xu Qingyan put down his pen, realizing he had gotten carried away, and lay back down again.
Costu dramas are tricky; even a little fuss with the costu can cost a small fortune, not to ntion a princess jumping into the sword furnace from a thousand years ago—the costus would probably need to be custom-made.
Let alone hiring actors, if we cast aside all sorts of miscellaneous expenses, just the special effects alone could make the MV so expensive that we might lose money even after releasing the new song.
Forget it.
He had planned to adapt the storyline of Immortal Sword III, and with so minor changes, it could beco the story for an MV. If he couldn't film Immortal Sword, just getting a taste of the experience through making the MV wouldn't be too bad.
But the tragedy of Dragon Hollyhock jumping into the sword furnace was the essence of the story; it was unavoidable.
Best to just stay put.
"Could you tell more about this script?" Pei Muchan hesitated before asking, "Is there a more detailed script available, not just a two or three-minute one?"
"Hmm." Xu Qingyan raised an eyebrow. "Do you really want to hear it?"
He was currently only writing songs for two major investors' moms, basically working half a day and resting the other half. His daily life consisted of studying and transcribing music, quite monotonous.
He was idle anyway.
"I do."
"Alright then, the story starts with a small country a thousand years ago..." Xu Qingyan narrated the plot bit by bit, sticking to the original brother-sister version.
The next day.
An unfamiliar number called Xu Qingyan's cell phone while he was eagerly waiting for takeaway in his studio. Seeing a local Xinghai number, he casually answered.
"Hello, is this Teacher Xu Qingyan?"
It wasn't the takeaway delivery guy's call, a soft female voice ca through the phone.
Uh...
"Teacher" was an odd way to be addressed; few people called him that.
"Who is this?"
"You should have been contacted by Sister Hong. I'm Jiang Ling from Cloud Wing Entertainnt," she said.
