Looking at his friend’s faint smile, Brandan rolled his eyes at him: "You find my jokes amusing?"
"Cough," Alex Hawk cleared his throat, "Not at all. Since you’re going ho tonight, I won’t disturb you. I’ll be heading back."
Brandan rolled his eyes toward the ceiling, ignoring him.
This guy barges into his office during broad daylight for so fun, who knows what’s on his mind.
Brandan sat alone in his office, twirling a pen in his hand, his brow slightly furrowed and a bit upset thinking that, if he went ho tonight, he’d have to see Iris Harris, right?
It’s truly annoying!

Brandan drove slowly back ho, where Lady Hyde was pruning her roses in the garden, and upon hearing the servant’s report that Brandan had returned, she rely responded with a soft "Mm".
After finishing the pruning, Lady Hyde handed the shears to a servant, washed her hands, and slowly made her way to the hall.
Brandan was sitting on the sofa, and seeing Lady Hyde, he greeted her: "Mom."
Lady Hyde glanced at him, "Finally decided to co back ho? If I didn’t call you, were you planning to stay holed up in the company for life?"
"..." Brandan pressed his lips together, staying silent.
Of course, he knew Lady Hyde was angry, but he was angry too! Who’s going to understand his feelings?
He looked around and asked, "Where’s Iris Harris?"
Lady Hyde walked in slowly and upon hearing Brandan’s question, replied, "She’s not off work yet."
"She’s still working, huh..."
Brandan said, a bit surprised.
He thought Iris Harris would just stay at Hyde Residence.
Lady Hyde’s slender brow furrowed slightly, sighing as she said, "I’ve advised her not to go to work and to take care at ho, but she doesn’t listen."
Brandan kept silent. Although he didn’t like Iris Harris, he was aware that Iris Harris was a workaholic.
"You should advise her too," Lady Hyde turned to look at him, "She doesn’t listen to , but she’ll listen to you."
Brandan thought, why should he advise her? He couldn’t care less about her wellbeing.
"Why are you so good to her?" he asked, sowhat annoyed, "Am I your child or is she?"
Lady Hyde furrowed her brow and looked at him: "Brandan, don’t forget, you two are already registered. She’s now my daughter-in-law!"
Brandan grew furious and stood up from the sofa: "What daughter-in-law! It was clearly her who forced ! If I had another option, I’d rather die than marry her!"
As soon as he finished speaking, a figure suddenly appeared at the door. Lady Hyde turned to look and saw Iris Harris standing there.
Her expression changed slightly, she glared at Brandan and quickly walked over, "Iris, you’re back? Are you tired? Want to eat first?"
Iris Harris’s pale face remained expressionless. She just slightly shook her head, "Auntie, I’ll go upstairs to rest first and co down for dinner later."
After finishing the sentence, she gently pushed Lady Hyde’s hand away and went upstairs alone.
Brandan watched her back, feeling inexplicably uncomfortable. He ignored the feeling in his heart and thought, he hadn’t said anything wrong. If Iris Harris hadn’t forced him in that way, how could he possibly have married her?
Their marriage was a mistake from the start!
Just thinking this caused the image of Iris Harris’s dim eyes to flash in his mind, and his originally calm heart now seed slightly tense, a feeling inexplicable rising slowly within him.
What’s happening to him...
Brandan confusedly rubbed his chest, not understanding where this heartache was coming from.
