Brandan was feeling really down, so after work, he sought out Alex to vent his frustrations.

"You have no idea how bad that guy’s temper has been lately!" In the bar, Brandan took a sip of his drink and said to his friend, "Every ti I go to her, she always manages to infuriate !"

"Do you think it’s easy for to go ho after work every day and still get tornted by her?"

"Constantly arguing for a divorce—does she think marriage is sothing you get into and out of so easily?"

...

Unable to hold back, Alex took the glass from his hand: "Brandan, who are you talking about?"

Brandan glanced at him: "Who else could it be?"

"..." Alex wanted to say sothing but didn’t dare confirm, so he asked!

Brandan leaned on the bar counter, resting his chin in his hand, sounding a bit down: "I’ve apologized to her so many tis, but she just won’t forgive ."

Alex said nothing, noticing that Brandan seed sowhat drunk, his deanor carrying a touch of childlike innocence, not as aloof and unapproachable as usual.

"What happened between you two?"

... Brandan pressed his lips together, not answering.

Perhaps, deep down, he knew he had done sothing unforgivable, so he didn’t dare to answer.

"Brandan, do you like her?"

Alex asked gently, "Have you fallen for Iris Harris?"

Brandan was slightly taken aback, turning his head slightly to look at Alex: "What?"

"If you like her, then treasure her." Alex looked at him and said softly, "She deserves to be loved by you."

...

But Brandan remained silent, not speaking further, only to drink more and more.

After several rounds, seemingly very drunk, he finally whispered, "It’s already too late."

The truth he couldn’t admit during the day seed only possible to speak aloud when most intoxicated.

He had long understood that her love for him had already been withdrawn.

No matter how much he acted out or tried to hold on, things couldn’t go back to how they were.

He had done sothing irreparable, completely breaking her heart.

She no longer... loves him.

Right? Deep down, he had known it all along.

No matter how much he tried to deceive himself, he had always been the most clear-headed.

Thinking of this, Brandan couldn’t help but laugh; he took a sip of his drink and seed to choke, coughing as he covered his mouth, laughing softly, "Alex, I don’t know what to do. I’ve never encountered sothing like this, I... don’t know how to keep her."

Amidst the hazy lights, Alex seed to catch a glimpse of a sparkle in Brandan’s eyes.

He paused for a mont, just about to take a closer look when Brandan’s body slumped down softly, collapsing onto the bar.

He had passed out drunk.

Alex gazed at his slumped figure, montarily speechless.

In the end, it seed that the trouble would fall to him!

After much effort, Alex managed to get Brandan into the car, sweating from exertion. He drove him to the Hyde Residence; it was late at night. Alex, being a good friend, searched Brandan’s pockets for the keys and let him in.

He was quite familiar with the Hyde Residence, but he didn’t know where Brandan’s bedroom was.

"Brandan, where do you stay?"

He asked while supporting him.

"This way..."

Brandan pointed in a random direction.

Accepting his fate, Alex dragged him over there.

"Here... right here...!"
