The FBI agents first inspected the slaughterhouse, then took Hard Abbas out of the car and escorted him into the slaughterhouse building, leaning him against a chair.
Armand Hains walked up to Hard Abbas, dislocated his jaw, took out the cloth in his mouth, checked his mouth and teeth, and after confirming there were no hidden drugs, released his jaw.
Armand Hains looked towards Luke, "Consultant Li, do you want to ask the questions, or should I?"
"You do it."
During this operation, the FBI suffered heavy casualties. Hard Abbas was brought to this remote place, and the thods used on him were clearly going to be harsh.
Armand Hains lifted Hard Abbas's chin, making him look up at him, "Who instructed you to carry out the terrorist attack at Steven Community College?"
Hard Abbas glared at him and spat on the floor.
Armand Hains imdiately tilted the chair back, and a bald FBI agent brought over a bucket and a towel.
Armand Hains deftly placed the towel over Hard Abbas's face, the bald FBI agent held him down, and Armand Hains poured water from the bucket over Hard Abbas's face, the water flowing just fast enough to cover his nose and mouth.
"Mmm mmm..." Hard Abbas let out a painful moan, struggling desperately but was held down tightly by the bald FBI agent.
Hard Abbas's body convulsed until he gradually lost the will to resist. Only then did Armand Hains stop pouring and lifted the towel from his face.
"Woo..."
Hard Abbas spewed out a large amount of water from his mouth and nose, gasping for air, his face contorted.
Armand Hains did not speak, rely watched Hard Abbas quietly, as the bald agent fetched another bucket of water. After a while, when Hard Abbas's breathing stabilized, he was held down again by the bald agent.
The towel over his face, water poured down.
Again, Hard Abbas struggled, groaning in pain, with his body convulsing irregularly. Despite his expression being obscured, one could sense his agony and helplessness.
Hard Abbas's strength to resist waned, and when the bucket was empty, Armand Hains lifted the towel from his face.
It was unclear whether he was suffocating or if there was too much water in his nose and mouth, but Hard Abbas was unable to breathe on his own.
Armand Hains tilted the chair sideways, delivering a strong kick to his back, sending a torrent of water from Hard Abbas's mouth and nose. Only then did he start to breathe again, retching violently, howling as if trying to vomit out his very soul.
Armand Hains still did not ask questions, repeating his previous actions. The bald agent fetched another bucket of water, waiting a bit longer this ti. Only when Hard Abbas's breathing was steady did Armand Hains pick up the towel.
"No no no! No more, I'll die, I beg you," Hard Abbas shouted hoarsely, tears and snot streaming down his face, his cheeks flushed from lack of breath.
The stalwart man from the Middle East had finally reached his breaking point.
Armand Hains maintained his previous tone, "Who instructed you to carry out the terrorist attack?"
"Severo Joli."
"Where is he?"
"I don't know, he's very mysterious. I only t him once in the apartnt half a month ago.
After that, he never ca again."
"How do you contact each other?"
"He gave a prepaid phone with only one number, yesterday he called and told to place the biochemical weapon at Steven Community College."
"What's the phone number?"
"909 584 2534."
Armand Hains wrote down the number, "Where did the biochemical weapon co from?"
"A few days ago, a man nad Tapani Reagan delivered it, he told that this thing is very dangerous and to avoid using it if possible."
"Why do you listen to Severo Joli?"
"He has connections in the Middle East, I'm not following his orders, it's just that people over there instructed to assist him in completing his mission."
"What mission?"
"To rescue L338, who is imprisoned at Guantanamo Prison, achieving this at any cost."
"Can you contact Severo Joli?"
"No, he always contacts ."
"Besides Severo Joli and Tapani Reagan, who else is involved in this terror attack?"
"Those involved were all killed in the apartnt by you, that's all I know, I'm just a minor character, responsible for carrying out the attack, I haven't had any contact with the top echelons of terror plans.
I could be discarded at any mont."
Armand Hains spoke to Luke nearby, "Consultant Li, I'm going to investigate Severo Joli and that phone number."
Luke walked over, asked, "Since you know you're just a pawn, why did you follow his orders?"
Hard Abbas sighed and said helplessly, "My family is still in the Middle East."
"Half a month ago, you saw Severo Joli?"
"Yes."
"Can you specify the exact ti?"
"March 15th, around eleven in the evening."
"Did he co alone?"
"Yes."
"How did he co?"
"I don't know."
"Describe his appearance?"
"He wore a black robe, with a headscarf, a tall white man who speaks Middle Eastern languages."
"Describe his appearance further?"
"Hooked nose, slightly gaunt cheeks, so redness to his complexion, his voice extrely deep, very convincing."
"You said his skin was a bit red?"
"Yes."
"What about his veins?"
Hard Abbas recalled for a mont, "I feel the veins on his hands are sowhat pronounced, rather noticeable."
Luke took out his phone, opened a photo of a deceased person with Yagola Syndro, "Does his skin and veins resemble the body in the photo?"
"A bit similar, but not as severe."
Luke wore a pensive expression, he had been pondering one question: there are many ways to conduct a terrorist attack.
Bombings are the most common, with the lowest technical difficulty and good effectiveness.
Yet this terrorist attack used biochemical weapons, a thod with high manufacturing difficulty and susceptibility to issues, and obtaining raw materials isn't easy, it was not the ideal choice at all.
So why did those behind the terrorist attack use this thod?
If Severo Joli truly is the mastermind behind the terrorist attack and also a Yagola Syndro patient, then it makes sense.
This syndro is very rare and lacks an effective treatnt, according to the CDC, so individuals could be immune to this syndro. If one could obtain a blood sample and bone marrow from this person, it might be possible to develop a cure.
This perhaps is the fundantal reason for using biochemical attacks.
Thinking of this, Luke felt a chilling sensation. So people would sacrifice thousands to find an immune body just to save themselves.
From a certain perspective, such individuals are even more terrifying than terrorists.
At this mont, Armand Hains's voice rang out, "Consultant Li, I've found so clues."
Luke walked over and asked, "Did you find Severo Joli's whereabouts?"
Armand Hains shook his head, "No, the phone number cannot be located because it's a prepaid phone, and the owner's identity can't be traced.
But, I found information about Severo Joli's identity."
Armand Hains tapped a detailed dossier on the tablet, "He's a biochemical weapon expert, secretly dispatched to the Middle East in 2018, returned to the US in 2020, and shortly after, he resigned.
Severo Joli was secretly sent to the Middle East while Tapani Reagan was also serving there, they likely t during that ti."
"Can we find his whereabouts?"
Armand Hains shook his head, "It's very difficult.
Two years ago, he resigned and seed to vanish, with no further official records available."
"Ring ring ring..."
At this mont, Luke's phone rang, he took a look at it, showing Reid's number on the screen.
He stepped aside and answered, "Director, what's the matter?"
Reid said, "Hope you can co to the detective bureau."
"What happened?"
"You'll know when you get here."
Luke glanced at his watch, "Alright, I'll be there in half an hour."
