Capítulo 1068: Chapter 31: Door of the Bizarre

“What tasks do you have?”

Tang Qi asked directly after the Mysterious rchant finished presenting all his choices.

After quickly weighing the pros and cons, this indeed seed like the most suitable choice for him at the mont.

The Mysterious rchant remained emotionless as he heard these words. A finger, which looked just like a human’s, extended from under his purple robe and tapped the pale, ghostly table. Suddenly, a burst of ghost light exploded, and nurous images appeared around Tang Qi, each one unique, representing different events.

The rchant casually grabbed a cluster of images. Within, a heavily ard planet was shown, with terrifying chanical weapons covering the starry sky, seemingly awaiting a war.

“This planet is called Kao. Not long ago, the Kao people collectively traded with us, willing to exchange Kao Star for a technology package to deal with the attack of a Wandering Giant Beast. They eventually succeeded in repelling the beast, and their species advanced to an interdiate level… Then they decided to renege on their agreent. Helping us reclaim Kao Star counts as one task.”

As his words fell, the rchant threw the images aside and grabbed another cluster.

This ti, it revealed a “Divine” Biological entity frantically fleeing. It looked like a atball covered in tentacles, writhing as it swam deeper into the boundless mystery.

Although separated by a great distance, just by witnessing the species and civilizations it destroyed in its path, one could tell it was a powerful being close to a True God.

“It is a Divine Biological entity that failed in its Ascension. Because it attempted to wield part of the ‘Devouring’ Authority, it provoked several Deities with the sa Divine path. To avoid its demise, it purchased a shelter service from us, with the condition that it would serve us for a hundred thousand years… but it chose to escape after weathering the crisis.”

“Catching it is also a task.”

While the rchant explained the two examples, Tang Qi scanned most of the images at a glance.

Most of the scenarios presented were similar to those two tasks.

Silently, he was amazed by the unexpectedly large number of “Heroes” in the boundless mystery, and how defaulting on agreents seed to be a common trait among many Life forms.

From Divine to ordinary Extraordinary Creatures, once they have overco a crisis, there is a chance they choose to violate their Trading Contract.

If it were any other organization, perhaps it would be a different story.

But given that their trading partner is “All Things Can Be Sold,” why would they imagine they could escape?

Even though this was his first ti there, Tang Qi had already sensed the strength of this Mysterious Organization through brief interactions.

Even if it were Tang Qi himself, if he engaged in so transaction with them, he wouldn’t be confident that he’d remain unscathed after violating the contract. He had not yet clashed with them, but there was a strong intuition that “All Things Can Be Sold” was extrely powerful.

After confirming that these tasks weren’t too troubleso and were within his ability, Tang Qi made his choice.

“Respected guest, I represent ‘All Things Can Be Sold’ to welco you. Henceforth, I will be your exclusive custor service. You may call ‘Ancient Marquis’.”

The rchant’s voice finally showed a trace of emotion as a fair hand extended from under the robe.

She also revealed her face, a face of perfect human beauty.

But it was perhaps too perfect; even though she seed very real, Tang Qi could tell that this “custor service” absolutely wasn’t human, and certainly not a Federation female.

“If you dislike this appearance, guest, I can transform again.”

As she spoke, the rchant began to change into another form.

Tang Qi quickly extended his hand to shake hers, and a new “symbol” slowly appeared on the back of his hand.

It was exactly the abstract, Mysterious black rune he had seen on the “Door of the Box.”

Before Tang Qi could complain about running out of space on the back of his hand, the Ancient Marquis, having successfully invited a new mber, began to get busy.

She casually summoned the contract and prepared to guide Tang Qi in signing it.

“Boom”

The pale, ghostly table emitted a dull noise as if struck by a giant stone.

What actually fell wasn’t a thing, but a half-person tall “Thick Shell Book,” exuding the fresh scent of Extraordinary ink.

“Is this the Trading Contract?”

Tang Qi looked at the fragnts flowing through his mind in surprise.

In front of him, the rchant, who had transford into a perfect Federation female, stood up and smiled politely, showing no sign of her identity as an “Ancient strong entity” immune to most All Spirits attacks. She nodded, unfazed, and responded:

“Respected guest, please forgive us.”

“For other guests, the Trading Contract is of a different kind, but you are different.”

“This is the exclusive contract prepared for you. We believe it ensures absolute fairness… As a token of differentiated treatnt, we promise that if you can still find loopholes to deceive us within this contract, ‘All Things Can Be Sold’ will gift you a present that will be of imnse help to you.”

“…”

Tang Qi, who had been ready to complete the transaction and obtain the Hidden Knowledge of the imprisoned Ancient God, was sowhat dumbfounded by this sudden peculiar turn.

He first felt “discrimination,” even though he knew it was a side effect of one of his titles, “God Deceiver.”

But Tang Qi still felt discriminated against. He seriously reflected on the fact that while he had deceived so contract targets, it was always the other party who harbored malice first.

If the contract target was well-intentioned, Tang Qi hardly ever used any tricks.

Just as Tang Qi was thinking about arguing, his words suddenly stopped as the rchant casually summoned what was called a “gift.”

It was a mass of misty light and shadow, seemingly wrapped in so thick liquid, enveloping the actual gift which Tang Qi could not fully perceive.

But he imdiately sensed that the gift should be a “Divine Authority,” and it was a type of authority that would greatly enhance his current abilities.

“This is an insul… challenge!”

Tang Qi promptly corrected himself, though most of his focus was evidently not on the yet-to-be-acquired gift or on the study of the contract.

These could occasionally serve as distractions.

But they were not enough to make Tang Qi abandon the truly urgent matters. He glanced at the rchant and casually said, “Since I can owe a debt, can you give the information in advance?”

“As for the research contract challenge, I can have my subordinates take care of it first.”

“No problem, esteed custor.”

The Mysterious rchant seed to be especially agreeable with Tang Qi, readily agreeing to his request.

Of course, it might also be because “All Things Can Be Sold” was entirely unafraid that Tang Qi would dare to snatch the intelligence by force. They had the strength to handle any conflict.

The next mont, in Tang Qi’s sowhat surprised gaze, the rchant known as “Ancient Marquis” directly conjured another “Thick Shell Book” from thin air, roughly the thickness of a human skull, with both the paper and the cover seemingly just extracted from a Blood Pond, emitting horror and stench.

The surface of the Thick Shell Book was also entwined with dark chains, from which a mighty Divine Aura surged.

Tang Qi didn’t doubt for a mont that this book, if casually thrown onto any planet, would be enough to trigger an Apocalypse Level Disaster—this was a “Divine Artifact” of the Chaotic Evil Camp.

But with Ancient Marquis holding it, it posed no threat to her.

Tang Qi looked over, and the symbols on the book’s surface seed to co alive, writhing and intertwining, gradually forming a face of extre ferocity, its pain grotesquely distorted, emitting sharp wails and fierce smiles, attempting to break free from the chains and rush towards Tang Qi.

Tang Qi’s expression remained unchanged. He casually summoned the Beckfast Chair, tossing the “Trading Contract” half a person tall to Fak, instructing it to read.

Then, Tang Qi seriously gazed at the terrifying Thick Shell Book.

A rich red light exploded in his mind.

[Divine Entity: Book of Knosaus.]

[State: Sealed.]

[Information Fragnt One: This is a Divine Artifact Book that has a high correlation with Weird Town and the mad Ancient God “Knosaus,” recording most information about Knosaus, including His full title, His origin, the disaster He caused, the reason for His fall in stature… and everything else.]

[Information Fragnt Two: It is both a key and a surveillance item. It can open the “Door of the Bizarre,” within which Knosaus is imprisoned in the depths of the otherworldly underground. It can monitor Knosaus’s state in real-ti, and through it, one can temporarily communicate with Knosaus, provided one can resist the pollution.]

[Information Fragnt Three: Reading it requires enduring a judgnt every ten seconds, failure to pass will lead to becoming Knosaus’s servant.]

[Information Fragnt Four: For each judgnt passed, there is a chance to obtain related Magic or Divine Arts, or certain Hidden Knowledge.]

As Tang Qi viewed this information, Ancient Marquis Marx directly handed it over.

anwhile, she added so additional explanation.

“Guest, all the intelligence you seek is in this book, and if you wish to et Knosaus, you can also use it as a key at any place in Weird Town to enter the Compulsory Narrative Domain [I Shall Return], in which a Door of the Bizarre will appear in the story.”

“Open the portal, and you can see the imprisoned Knosaus, what happens afterward is unrelated to us…”

Listening to Ancient Marquis Marx, Tang Qi did not hesitate, reaching out directly to take the book filled with Divine Pollution.

The mont it was in his hand, a multitude of wails and fierce smiles, as if suppressed for countless years, fully exploded in that instant.

Tang Qi’s mind was bombarded, endless negative emotions surged to tornt him, ravage him, enslave him.

In his mind, corresponding fragnts flowed past.

“Enduring judgnt of Divine Entity [Book of Knosaus]… Judgnt passed!”

“Pollution exempted, next judgnt in ten seconds.”

Tang Qi ignored the information and the fierce face of the Evil God bound by chains attempting to bite his palm on the hard shell cover, and directly opened the first page.

Previously untouched, terrifying yet entirely new Hidden Knowledge now began to flow in.
