Chapter 86: Chapter 86 McGraw’s Intelligence

Although the na was known, it was highly unlikely that one could discover everything just from the na itself. Tang Qi could only search through those bulky tos he had read for so seemingly relevant legends and compare them with the Information Fragnts to roughly guess what sort of Profession it was.

It seed similar to another Profession, the Beast Tar; both involved modifying beasts to obtain Extraordinary Power.

However, Beast Tars mostly lean towards the Justice Camp.

Whereas Beast Shepherds are the opposite, tending towards chaos, evil, and possessing a certain madness as Professionals.

Recorded in the “Monster Records”, before the dawn of the New Calendar, in the dark ages, a terrifying herd of beasts once appeared on the northern Federation’s icy plains. Docile giant moose had undergone so mysterious change. Their bodies mutated, their mouths turned into flexible suckers with rings of sharp teeth upon opening, their hooves into sharp claws, disgusting aty wings grew on their backs, and hard bone spikes pierced through their ribs, forming an armor-like structure.

The most horrifying aspect was their newfound intense interest in human flesh; everywhere they passed, every village and city faced total annihilation, with ordinary firearms completely ineffective against them, even inciting their ferocity.

...

Ultimately, this disaster was eradicated by the Holy Warrior—William Hid. In his accounts to those who ca after, the disaster was caused by an evil Beast Shepherd who received the punishnt he deserved for toying with species.

“A Beast Shepherd should be a Beast Shepherd indeed, who can turn normal beasts into fearso Extraordinary Monsters. Judging from the descriptions of the legends, each mutated moose could easily crush a common demon, and once they gathered, the scale of the disaster is indeed unimaginable.”

“Yet what is even more terrifying may be the warrior who could eradicate such a disaster, a level I currently cannot even grasp.”

Tang Qi silently digested this new knowledge, dispelling his stray thoughts.

Glancing at the ti, there was so to spare, so he continued unraveling the Mysterious Hair Tie.

The once ssy Mysterious Hair Tie had already reduced by a small half, and it was estimated that in so ti, Tang Qi would be able to unravel it completely.

Rembering the two pieces of knowledge he had acquired, the Mohawk Language and the Antya Language, though they differed in nature, they both belonged to linguistic knowledge. Tang Qi couldn’t help but wonder if he would beco a language expert once the hair knot was completely untied.

The victims in Gregory’s Self-portrait were all ordinary beautiful girls; the knowledge they could grant Tang Qi after their liberation would indeed mainly concern language.

However, this wasn’t necessarily a constant; perhaps there would be other surprises.

Before his lunch break ended, Tang Qi untied another hair knot, liberating two girls who had co from a distant land to seek their dreams in the Federation. Although he didn’t acquire knowledge this ti, Tang Qi wasn’t at all disappointed.

With each hair knot he unraveled, Tang Qi also gained so Joy.

Soon, the afternoon work hours arrived.

This ti, Tang Qi did not participate in selecting the cases, which was originally his prerogative.

However, after a quick glance, not finding anything particularly interesting, he delegated the job to Gideon’s team, comprised of so knowledgeable staff.

Indeed, when Tang Qi was absent, it was their responsibility to select cases, then decide on the order of priority and level of danger.

Typically, they would dispatch two detectives to investigate the scene first and deduce based on so traces whether the case involved the Extraordinary, or how dangerous it could be. Although a rough procedure, there had been no casualties so far.

According to their judgnt, the next case to tackle was the Serial Killer case in Rach District.

Initially, the highest priorities would certainly be those few cases in Blank District.

No matter which one, it seed to involve Extraordinary Power, and was very dangerous.

But during the two days when Tang Qi busied himself with concocting Secret dicine, the case in Blank District suddenly stopped in a bizarre manner. The detectives who went to investigate didn’t find any Abnormality, forcing Gideon and the others to temporarily suppress those files.

During one afternoon, Tang Qi and Stanna spent their ti in Rach District.

The population distribution in this area was sowhat scattered, hence the longer investigation ti.

After reviewing all the scenes, Tang Qi found no traces of Transcendent Power. The files were sent back to the police precinct; it was probably a highly skilled Serial Killer who left behind no biological evidence, leading the detectives of Rach District to mistake it for a Mysterious case.

As the police car drove through the streets of various districts, passing neon lights that were beginning to co on, gradually revealing the bustling, sleepless scenery of Midtown Avenue, and arrived at sser Police Station, the city was sinking into an atmosphere that was both strange and enchanting.

Tang Qi and Stanna got out of the car, with the prosperous Midtown on one side and the dangerous, dark Blank District on the other.

Two atmospheres were separated by the classic, austere main building of sser Police Station. Tang Qi stood still for a mont, appreciating the odd and charming scene, then his glance swept inconspicuously over the several streets surrounding the police station and he nodded slightly, almost imperceptibly.

Afterward, using “end of the workday” as an excuse, he straight up bid farewell to Stanna.

Instead of returning to the police station, he walked directly towards the other end of the street.

It seed he intended to take a shortcut straight back to Thorns Campus.

Initially, Stanna wanted to remind this fellow about the dangers of Blank District, but then she quickly recalled the freakish strength hidden beneath Tang Qi’s fragile appearance, muttered “What a masochist,” and turned to step onto the steps of the police station.

Almost every street in Blank District seed gloomy and filthy as soon as night fell, fostering an atmosphere suitable for transactions that can’t stand the light of day.

Although Tang Qi did not see his behavior as sothing that should be hidden in the dark.

He had just turned a corner when he silently stood at the mouth of the second alley. It was relatively clean. After waiting a mont, a figure ran over with so difficulty. It appeared to be a disabled person moving with twisted limbs, limping along. Amidst the shifting light and shadow, a young beggar appeared before Tang Qi’s eyes.

He had a common face with so freckles and the alert young McGraw.

“Si~sir, I’m back, I heard…”

Perhaps worried that his mory might be faulty, McGraw hastily wanted to report his overheard conversation to Tang Qi, forgetting to catch his breath properly.

Tang Qi wasn’t in a hurry, instead, he stepped back lightly, gesturing for McGraw to co into the alley.

As McGraw locked eyes with Tang Qi, a subtle Golden Light flashed, and the previously anxious-looking McGraw suddenly cald down, with the relevant mories becoming clearer in his mind.

“Begin, tell

what you heard?”

Tang Qi said with a calm tone.

“Yes, sir.”

“I managed to get to the pottery studio at noon, that area also has a lot of vagrants, so no one noticed . I hid under a window near the back door of the studio, right where that pair of sisters was practicing. They really like to chat, and I heard them talk about…”

The Information Fragnt that ca out of McGraw’s mouth at first did not provoke any reaction from Tang Qi, until suddenly a phrase made Tang Qi’s slightly drooping eyelids contract, his pupils suddenly narrowing.
