Chapter 361: Chapter 351 John and the Newspaper

A boundless white fog crept up at an extraordinarily slow pace, from the roiling lake waters, rising into stark white stone pillars, atop which stood yet another white building.

Tang Qi’s figure materialized out of thin air, still with a trace of a smile at the corner of his mouth.

Just monts ago, he had bid farewell to Nidya.

The little girl, having received the assurance from Mr. Principal that she could leave the “Isolation Zone” and attend class with the other children, for the first ti revealed an exceptionally radiant smile.

Even Tang Qi was affected by her smile.

At the sa ti, her smile made Tang Qi utterly certain that her Guardian Spirit, the Netherworld Banshee from the Exotic Realm, would not possibly reject his offer of a Contract.

After all, the Contract only bound the Banshee’s power, but did not restrict her from continuing to be Nidya’s Guardian Spirit.

“Where is this…?”

Tang Qi collected his thoughts and, as usual, glanced at the wooden sign in front of the house.

The characters on it were purely chanically engraved.

John!

When this na surfaced, a sense of realization dawned upon Tang Qi.

Among the ten Level 5 Danger Sources contained under the supervision of Esralda, the only “baby.”

With the authority of a Principal, Tang Qi’s thoughts instantly spurred into action.

The door to the hut was opened right away by a Puppet Maid, who did not look too different from a human. Tang Qi stepped in to see a setup similar to that of a hospital ward, but with no beds. Instead, there was only an Insulation Box, warmly illuminated by soft light.

Inside, lay a very special baby.

Its size appeared as though it had been born only days ago, yet on its body, one couldn’t find a single patch of youthful skin; each part was wrinkled, not with infant wrinkles, but those of the elderly, with folds full of “age spots,” and even the hair was snow-white.

Tang Qi stopped a ter away from the entrance.

Before him, seemingly close, was the Insulation Box sustaining John’s life.

However, in reality, he was still far from the Insulation Box. Unless he utilized his authority or brute force to break through, no matter how many steps he took, he would always be fourteen ters away from the Insulation Box—an intricate Space Magic cast by Esralda.

John’s range of influence was precisely fourteen ters.

However, according to the records, this range was actually expanding.

Tang Qi did not use his authority to traverse the bounds of the magic, for a vague sensation was emanating: it seed John could not control even the slightest bit of his power, allowing his abilities to not just increase in distance but also in Level.

According to the student register, those at Professional Level were exempt.

But at this mont, Tang Qi felt the register needed an update.

Because with Tang Qi’s combat abilities, even through a layer of Space Magic, he still sensed danger.

This ant that if he were to use his authority to enter within fourteen ters, to touch John, he might get hurt or even… die?

Fortunately, the current distance was sufficient for him to use his Special Ability.

Inside the hut, besides the minute sounds of chanical operations, there were only faint breathing sounds drifting from John inside the Insulation Box.

Against this backdrop, Tang Qi’s gaze beca fixed upon it.

“Hoo”

A ghost light surged out, even more intense than when faced with any other Danger Source before.

A unique scene began to form at a slow pace.

[Extraordinary Creature: Dream Eater.]

[State: Normal.]

[Information Fragnt One: An ordinary baby, who by a twist of fate, beca the host of a “Dream-eating Spirit,” and was directly transford into a Dream Eater. Because it was only an infant, it was wholly incapable of controlling the Power of Dream Eating, leading to power overflow.]

[Information Fragnt Two: Any living being that approaches within a fourteen-ter range, failing the judgnt, will imdiately fall into an Eternal Dream, where the victims will live out an entire lifeti in the dream, while their body’s Life Force will be plundered by the Dream Eater.]

[Information Fragnt Three: Most Dream Eaters, due to their longing for life and dreams, lose their sense of self and transition into Extraordinary Creatures of the Chaotic Camp. Those who maintain their sense of self, nearly every one of them can defeat opponents above their Level.]

As the stream of Information Fragnts passed by, Tang Qi’s expression grew increasingly solemn.

The trouble posed by John, Tang Qi had beco aware of it when reviewing the student register.

An Extraordinary Baby!

With almost no autonomous consciousness, yet possessing terrifying powers.

Now, he also understood why Esralda would divine such a result.

The source of John’s ability was an Exotic Realm Creation known as the “Dream-eating Spirit.”

If John were to be killed, this entity might leave the host and engage in secondary parasitism.

Or rather, more straightforwardly, it could spread and contaminate.

Even Tang Qi found it hard to imagine the horror if such a creature, that could consu dreams and plunder life, were to spread—how many human deaths would it cause?

Tens of thousands?

Hundreds of thousands?

Or would it turn Secret Phoenix City…

John could not die!

Almost imdiately, Tang Qi shared the sa thought as Esralda.

At the sa ti, he felt the headache that Esralda was experiencing.

The Dream-eating Spirit endowed John with extrely terrifying powers, but unfortunately, John was a baby.

He could not control himself, resulting in leakage of power, turning the surrounding fourteen ters into a Life Forbidden Zone.

What’s even more horrifying is that John has always been enveloped in dream-eating and plundering. If he hadn’t died accidentally at a young age but had grown up in this environnt, what kind of monster would he have ultimately beco?

Even the most optimistic person would feel their scalp tingle at this thought.

In Tang Qi’s mind, he envisioned the future: an old man who seed aged to the extre, his eyes filled with an eerie non-human quality. It was as though everything was operating under his watch, and wherever he went, be it humans or other forms of life, they would fall into a deep sleep and then age to death in an instant.

The creator of this monster would very likely be the rada Special Education School.

“Big trouble!”

Tang Qi, just a step yet actually ten-odd ters away, muttered silently.

Knowing the truth inside John’s body, Tang Qi had already started to select from his abilities or Curios.

However, regrettably, aside from Diana’s Corpse which was still “Transforming”, Tang Qi’s other abilities simply couldn’t solve the problem inside John.

Even the first step: to isolate the influence and let John beco a real baby and grow normally.

Body Control Spell, Illusion Spell, or Red might be of so use.

But the prerequisite would be to touch and make eye contact.

The mont Tang Qi stepped into the Isolation Zone, he would imdiately face the risk. For that sliver of success, the risk was not worth it.

After contemplation, Tang Qi still couldn’t find a way out.

Without lingering any further, Tang Qi turned and left John’s Hut.

And soon after that, he also left the Isolation Zone.

There was not a trace of discouragent on his face; in fact, he had anticipated this outco.

Tang Qi had now encountered four “Danger Sources” that even Esralda could not handle. Three of them had been resolved by Tang Qi, with John being the first challenge he encountered.

This was normal. Had Tang Qi arrived and all the Danger Sources in the Isolation Zone were resolved, that would have really caused so ripples.

At root, it was still a matter of strength.

He had seen the relevant data; John was troubleso, and the remaining Danger Sources likely wouldn’t be any less challenging.

With Tang Qi’s current strength, he might be able to discern the truth, but to solve the root cause, it was still not quite enough.

“Promote to Professional Level at the fastest speed!”

This thought crossed his mind as Tang Qi left the Lake Heart Island Secret Realm and began his nightti hunting.

Compared to sser City, Secret Phoenix City was a true tropolis.

In all aspects, including the prosperity of the Mysterious Side and the number of monsters, far surpassed that of sser City.

Tang Qi just needed to carry the Black Mountain Beech Wood Plate and make his selections.

Before his hunting actions caused a complete outbreak, he would clear as many polluted creatures as possible.

To align with his dayti reasoning, Tang Qi’s selections still centered around Green Dragon Ridge Lake, without venturing too far into distant realms.

Just for those Extraordinary Creatures that lingered near Green Dragon Ridge Lake, leaning toward chaotic and evil, and indeed tainted with human Resentful Souls and blood, it was going to be a very morable night.

That night, many of them saw the sa figure.

Then, they lost their lives as well as their souls.

“Phew~”

In the early morning, within the Lake Heart Island Secret Realm shrouded in a white mist, Tang Qi’s slightly exhausted figure appeared, but the divine light in his eyes was almost inextinguishable, and within him, there was a faint sensation of restlessness and an explosive energy brewing.

However, the next mont, the sight of Dragon Heart Castle reflected in his eyes cald him sowhat.

At this ti, the magical and interesting special school life was about to begin.

As the New Principal, Tang Qi, the previously turbulent school, would once again enter what may be a long period of “stability.”

Thus, inside Dragon Heart Castle, there was a cheerful and peaceful atmosphere everywhere.

It was only here that these children with “Extraordinary Power” wouldn’t be treated as monsters, but as ordinary students. All the courses here, and the sights that t the eyes, were filled with magical colors.

It was exactly like those novels and films that people yearn for, a “Magic School.”

In fact, this place was indeed a magic school.

It’s just that its na wasn’t sothing like Magic Castle but the sowhat rustic and bizarre rada Special Education School.

Before taking office, Tang Qi had thought about how to manage this school.

Now, he had a very clear answer in his heart.

With a happy mood, Tang Qi headed towards his “Principal’s Office,” which was also the fourth floor of the Library Tower.

Along the way, all the students he t greeted him politely, most eyes filled with admiration, while the younger students, in addition to admiration, also squeaked out warnings to Tang Qi, saying that the Principal brother is handso, but the prepared Extraordinary Cooking is so hard to swallow…

Tang Qi, recalling his source of joy, found that so teachers and caretakers he encountered looked at him with strange eyes.

Just as doubtful thoughts arose in Tang Qi’s mind, he saw Professor Eva, who seed to have been deliberately waiting for him, in front of the Library Tower.

He didn’t speak yet, and Professor Eva handed him a newspaper.

A magical newspaper!

Before Tang Qi touched it, the familiar silhouette outline on the first page caught his eye.

Most conspicuous was the shadow of a suit*case.

Without a doubt, it was “Gluttony.”

And the owner of the silhouette was naturally… Tang Qi.

When Tang Qi took the newspaper with a hint of confusion, the newspaper suddenly shook violently, and then all the content and text on it instantly disintegrated, turning into vivid, three-dinsional streams of information that appeared before Tang Qi.

Even an extrely charming figure suddenly appeared next to Tang Qi, a magnetic voice ringing in his ears.
