Kaelith frowned, as he knew he couldn’t use his royal title, and even if he tried, it wouldn’t matter as it would be him shooting himself in the foot, giving a reason to the Emperor to punish him... worse get him killed. This was because he knew these n didn’t follow princes or nobles. They answer only to the throne and if they saw him, there would be questions... questions he couldn’t afford to answer.

Fighting them wasn’t an option, even though he had distortion. Right now, the best plan is not to draw any attention.

He looked down at his ring. ’With my current stage... I won’t be able to cast a spell strong enough to put them to slumber... so you need to help ."

Kaelith closed his eyes, and he brought the ring close to his mouth. "Mteh tu le ps’ep ".

His eyes lightened almost as if they had turned silvery, and the Drakyn ring glowed with a faint shimring light. "Go." He flicked his wrist towards their direction.

Across the hall, the torches flickered once... and then again. One of the High Mages turned slightly. "Did you feel that? There is sothing here with us."

"Yes... I could feel an ancient and powerful magic," another said, glancing around. His eyes widened in horror. "Do you think it has finally broken free..."

Before he could finish, all four of them staggered and collapsed. Their body lay on the floor, with a red aura cocooning around them.

Kaelith stepped out from the shadows knowing the spell had finally worked. He slowly strode towards the door, as if he had all the ti in the world; his expression was blank but his brows furrowed slightly.

The door was enormous, taller than any gate he had ever seen. The iron was so old it had turned black, and strange symbols covered its surface, glowing faintly.

His eyes landed on a faded seal at the center, a big circle with triangles within it. He recognized it right away. It was a powerful rune opened by only blood.

"It must be the royal’s blood... I happen to be one." he tilted his head to the side.

Without a second thought, Kaelith pulled out a small blade and cut the tip of his finger. Dark blood dripped onto the center of the symbol. Suddenly, the runes lit up at once, rotating with a golden light.

Then an unlock sound echoed before the door creaked open. A gust of hot air blew past him, but he remained calm, with his hand behind his back as he stepped into the chamber.

The space within the chamber was wide and carved from black stone. The rocky ceiling stretched high above, disappearing into darkness. The floor was cracked and burned, covered in old bones, so of which belonged to humans, the others... belonged to animals.

Tall pillars of rock were scattered around the chamber, and they were so tall that they were lost in the fog above.

Then his eyes moved to the massive dark figure chained to one of the pillars. His eyes trailed along the large chains.

The creature opened one of its eyes slowly... and the whole room seed to grow tense.

Kaelith froze in his spot. His eyes widened slightly as a pair of golden eyes locked on him... no they were like burning lava.

"A Primal Dragon," he muttered as realization dawned on him. The dragon had lured him here because it had recognized his soul.

The dragon rose slightly, smoke rising from its nose. Its teeth were bared in a snarl.

"You..."

Its voice was low and harsh. It felt more like a vibration. A ball of fire burned in its throat.

"So you rember ." He asked, taking a slow step back.

"How could I forget the one..." the dragon growled. "...Who wiped out my kind... who had hunted us for power... Dravakhan."

Kaelith’s breath hitched for the first ti, and a glint flicked through his eyes. His body was tense... that na... his real na. He had thought he would never hear it again.

"I prefer Dravak," he muttered with a smirk. His eyes glead with hunger. This was a good opportunity for him to break through. Maybe he didn’t have to wait until he beca a Sage to take his revenge. If he could get the dragon’s blood... he could practice his demonic magic again.

The ground shook as it stepped forward. Its eyes burned with hatred.

"You killed my mate," it snarled. "And my children."

Fire exploded from its mouth.

Kaelith jumped to the side. The flas scorched the edge of his cloak, setting it alight. Muttering spells to put it out, he hissed in pain as the heat burned his side. Another wave of flas followed. Kaelith hid behind one of the tall pillars, his back soaked in sweat. The heat from the dragon’s fire filled the air, burning everything within its touch.

"I won’t be able to make it out if this continues," he muttered to himself.

"I didn’t co to fight," Kaelith said again, his voice steady. "You called here, rember."

"I called you here to take my revenge." it spits out more fire.

"I know you hate ... and I know you want revenge, butt I can offer you sothing better. I can give you freedom" Kaelith groaned, his face dripping with sweat as the flas circled him. It was his Drakyn ring that had ford a protective barrier around him.

The dragon’s glowing eyes narrowed. Its breath ca out in short bursts of smoke. "You’re offering a way out?" Its deep voice rumbled through the stone chamber. "After you hunted us down? After you led the slaughter of my kin?"

Kaelith stood up slowly. Smoke clung to his body, and the ends of his robe were still smoldering. "I did," he admitted. "I rember every battle. Every scream. I won’t pretend I didn’t cause that pain. I won’t ask you to forgive . But if you want sothing more than rage... listen to what I have to say." He said with a tired voice.

The dragon’s body shifted slightly. Red cracks glowed in between its black scales. Its head lowered a little, though fire still burned in its throat.

"I’m listening," it said.

Kaelith looked straight into its eyes. "You’re the last of your kind. But you’re chained. You’ve been sealed here, trapped like a prisoner. I don’t know who did it... or why...But I can feel the power from the seal. I can’t break it now. But if you give your blood, I’ll find a way." he said with a lopsided smirk... one hidden from the dragon’s line of sight.

The dragon gave a low growl.

"In return," Kaelith said, "you get to live. You stay hidden and safe. And one day, when I have the strength, I’ll co back and free you."

"You want my blood," the dragon hissed, "because you want power. That is what you have always been after... You hunted my kin because of our blood... and you want to give you mine." Another powerful roar of fire spread through the air.

"Stop... hear out." Kaelith cried out. If it doesn’t stop, he might suffocate to death. The dragon is at the sa stage as a Sage. How could he fight against him?

The dragon held its fire, letting Kaelith speak. Deep within its eyes, it was not only revenge that burned... There was also a longing for freedom.

Kaelith didn’t deny it. "Yes I know I was heartless." he wheezed. "With your blood, I can break the seal that keeps weak. This body has held back. But your blood will help begin my true training again. The path I used to walk."

Silence filled the room.

Then the dragon let out a sound that was almost a laugh, it sounded like rocks grinding together. "Still bold and proud I see. You haven’t changed a bit."

Kaelith raised an eyebrow. "So is that a yes?" A sinister smirk tugged on his lips.
