The basics of the Thousand Illusion was quite simple to grasp.
It worked by using a martial practitioner's genuine energy to alter the shape and color of muscles and skin to change one's appearance. It could also modify one's aura and realm.

After exiting the Burial World, they could feel the world was full of evil aura. Everywhere was barren and dark.
The whole world was in deathly silence, with the occasional roar of Corpse Demons coming from a distance.
When they released their Divine Sense to evaluate the environnt, they could see skeletal remains scattered everywhere.
"Corpse Demons are devouring each other. It appears that it would be hard to find any human alive in this world!" Qiong Qi witnessed the fights among the Corpse Demons.
Soon afterwards, Ye Liuyun also noticed the devouring situation of the Corpse Demons.
Corpse Demons couldn't find any humans and the foreign race wasn't managing the world, so they instinctively grew stronger by devouring each other.
They observed for quite a while but saw no signs of any living creature.
Ye Liuyun sighed and told Qiong Qi, "You should set up an exit. I'll wander around and see."
"Don't rush! Let's find any hidden martial practitioners. We might be lucky." Qiong Qi said.
"With the world in such catastrophe, would there be any survivors?" Ye Liuyun didn't hold out any hope.
"Without martial practitioners, how did those foreign races die? Was there infighting? The Corpse Demons wouldn't dare to kill the foreign race, right?" Qiong Qi reminded Ye Liuyun.
"Exactly!" Ye Liuyun suddenly realized, "That ans, there are humans resisting the foreign race in this world!"
Qiong Qi inford Ye Liuyun, "The remaining martial practitioners are likely guarding around the Power of Origin of this world, doing the final battle with the foreign race!"

On the way, they encountered many wandering Corpse Demons.

Even the Corpse Demons of the lower realm would follow the instructions of Ye Liuyun and his group.
When Ye Liuyun and Qiong Qi disguised as foreign race, those Corpse Demons of any realm were even more obedient, completely following orders.
However, when Ye Liuyun and Qiong Qi were conveying orders, they could only communicate through Divine Sense and could not directly control the minds of the Corpse Demons like how the foreign race did.
They also couldn't communicate with the foreign race since they didn't understand their language.

As for those lower realm Corpse Demons, Ye Liuyun also directly used spells. He was too lazy to take action. Spells could directly annihilate those lower realm Corpse Demons, turning them into ash.

Ye Liuyun then let his clone out and let him practice the curse technique as well.
"How about you go back to the Spatial World and help craft two more sets of armor?" Ye Liuyun asked Qiong Qi.
"Sounds good. You broke too many armors! This ti, I'll make a few extra sets for you." After Qiong Qi finished speaking, he went back into the Xuankong Stone to help Ye Liuyun craft armor.
Ye Liuyun practiced the Thousand Illusion and the curse technique simultaneously, eliminating Corpse Demons along the way.
This world had entirely beco the domain of Corpse Demons. Occasionally, Ye Liuyun would pass a city only to encounter a large contingent of Corpse Demons.
