Lin Xuanze very reluctantly put the bowls and chopsticks into the dish cabinet to be sterilized before wiping the sink dry.

Everything was neat and spotlessly clean, as if to say to Yun Yue, "See, I told you I could do housework! Look how well I did!"

Yun Yue raised an eyebrow, taking a sip of sparkling water that fizzed delicately in her mouth, sweetly surprised that he had managed the household chores, and managed them quite well.

Lin Xuanze strutted like a proud peacock as he took off his apron, washed his hands, and humd as he passed by her, intending to go upstairs but then he hesitated and ca back.

With his height of six feet standing in front of her, he eyed her bandaged head and smirked, "The doctor said you can’t wash your hair for a week, so Mom told to keep an eye on you. If you dare wash it, I’ll imdiately tell..." tell Mom.

Then he thought about it and felt like telling Mom might be useless.

"I’ll imdiately tell Grandma you’ve been eating candy at school, lots and lots of candy!"

Knowing she had a habit of washing her hair every day, it was sothing his mom could entrust him with.

Yun Yue: "..."

Her eyes instantly frosted over, the wicked gleam staring down his smug, utterly punchable face.

Look at him, actually daring to use Grandma as a threat.

Her smirk instantly knocked the triumph off his face.

If looks could kill, he thought he would have died a hundred tis over.

Her voice was malicious yet hoarse, "I don’t care, go ahead and tell! At most I’ll get a talking-to, but I can’t guarantee the sa for you."

Even though he was the taller one, she exuded a domineering presence that made him feel utterly crushed underfoot.

He had to admit defeat!

After all, who made her the boss!

"Fine, I won’t tell, just don’t wash it, I’m doing this for your own good! I’m your brother, you have to listen to !" Lin Xuanze’s ears turned a shade of pink.

It was the first ti he acknowledged in front of Yun Yue that he was her brother, having said that, she should be satisfied.

Yun Yue: "Tch! Who cares if you’re my brother, you who falls short in every aspect, have the nerve?"

Lin Xuanze: "..."

If he had to have a sister, could he exchange her for another one?

Being her brother was so frustrating!

"I am still your brother," Lin Xuanze grumbled and turned to head upstairs!

Yun Yue glanced at his proud retreating figure and followed upstairs, after sending a quick ssage, she took her clothes into the bathroom.

Aunt Xiang had gotten her a few days off, so she didn’t need to go to classes.

She stood in front of the vanity, instinctively reaching to comb her hair when she realized the bandages were there. Rembering Aunt Xiang’s words, she rolled her hair up with resignation and put on the waterproof shower cap she had been bought.

...

After the shower, she habitually checked her phone to assure no one had ssaged before setting it aside, then noticed a glass of milk on the bedside table and knew Aunt Xiang and her Grandma had returned.

She finished the milk and, out of habit, flicked her tongue over her lips. Her pajamas fell open, revealing most of her collarbone, seductive and charming. She threw off the covers and walked to the balcony to continue painting.

There were two pictures left, and since she didn’t have classes the next day, she planned to co up with the concepts in a burst of inspiration, ready to color them together the following day.

By the ti she finished painting, it was already one in the morning, and she felt no hint of sleepiness.

Grabbing an unfinished sketch from before, she hesitated not a mont to select a portrait of Xiao Chen from a pile of paper.

She hadn’t finished it yet, so far it only showed a prideful and aloof face.

Looking at that face, she couldn’t help but rember the last ti in Beiyang when he, without any hesitation, picked her up in front of so many people, her ears flushed with a touch of red, suddenly feeling a little stuffy; it wasn’t until she opened all the windows that the sensation dissipated.

She didn’t know why, but suddenly inspiration struck, compelling her to paint him.

The person in the painting seed as real as if alive.

For soone as stunning as Xiao Chen, every detail mattered, from hair strands to collar, overall attire and body proportions, to the expression in his eyes. Missing even a single detail would fail to capture his uniquely prideful and aloof temperant.

Her interest piqued, she picked up her phone to send a ssage to Xiao Chen.

"Master Chen, do you want to know what color you are?"

Xiao Chen, who hadn’t fallen asleep, imdiately replied to her.

Seeing that he had sent over a question mark, her interest grew, and she suddenly wanted to tease him.

"Mr. Yu Guangzhong’s poem: Between the color of the sky and the color of snow, you are the third kind of stunning beauty."

Xiao Chen’s thin lips curved slightly, forming a handso arc; the deep contours of his eyes softened, his pupils warm and smiling.

His clear-knuckled fingers tapped the screen.

"There is a beauty, unforgettable upon sight, one day without seeing her makes one mad with longing, ten days without sight of her, utterly insane."

Yun Yue’s eyes widened silently. Did he an he was thinking about her?

It turned out that since he left Beiyang last ti, it had already been ten days. He rembered so clearly.

"Sister Yue, how can two months pass so slowly?"

He couldn’t wait any longer; not seeing her for a day was enough to drive him mad, let alone ten days.

He had been numbing himself with work these days, but he really wasn’t in a position to go to Lan City anymore.

His uncle still suspected another hidden force was investigating him; he couldn’t go to her side, fearing it might bring her danger.

At least, let her finish her college entrance exams smoothly. Once she ca to Beijing and was under his watchful eye, those people wouldn’t be able to stir up any trouble.

Yun Yue felt that it wasn’t slow anymore; in the blink of an eye, more than a week had passed.

Yun Yue decided to end this topic; she feared that if the conversation continued, she might embarrass herself to death: "Did you go back to Beijing?"

After waiting a while, he replied, "I will return tomorrow. You should go to bed early; I still have so things to take care of over here."

"Wait..." Yun Yue called out to him, her mind suddenly conjuring up a bold idea, her cheeks turning as red as a waterlon.

Xiao Chen: "?"

"Send a photo of your bare bones."

She felt the request lacked sensation and planned to redraw it. Perhaps looking at his photo, she would be able to draw it better.

Maybe he didn’t have ti to type; he sent a voice ssage over.

She clicked to play it directly.

"Didn’t think you were like this, Sister Yue, huh?" The man’s voice was low and magnetic, seductive, and the final "huh" had an intentional lilt that electrified her, leaving her feeling all tingly.

Fuck!

She really had no other intention!

She just wanted to draw a portrait of him!

Moreover, it’s common for portrait artists to use people as models, and there are even nude models. She just wanted a photo that showed so skin; what was wrong with that?

Show a bit of bone, a wrist, or even abs—it wouldn’t be a problem!

Where was his mind going?

"I don’t an... don’t get the wrong idea, I just want..." She had typed out a line, realized she was requesting a risqué photo and then to draw from it, which made her seem like a pervert, and so she deleted everything. Then she re-edited and sent out a new line.

"It doesn’t have to be bare bones, just a full-body shot will do."

Another voice ssage ca over.

"Oh, so Sister Yue, you want to see the full-body, huh!"

Yun Yue felt like she might go insane. The initial "Oh" made her almost drop her phone. Who could tell her why this man had suddenly beco so frivolous!

It seed impossible to clear up the misunderstanding.

The confusion was growing bigger and bigger.

She really, truly just wanted a photo!
