Marketplace.

Critic Arley, Critic-Ishire.

************

The owner of the shop felt fear like no other, she wished Stella would just shut up but the woman was unstoppable when it ca to her and her twisted sense of dignity and pride to be upheld.

The Mayor’s wife waited for her proof, her palm on her waist.

Conan’s leg shifted. "You need proof?"

He sauntered towards the mayor’s wife.

"You dare to ask for proof?" he spoke to her face.

The lady took a step back before lowering her gaze.

"Who do you think you are to question the legitimacy of Lady Lydia?"

Stella started to shake under Conan’s threatening gaze. He was a knight after all he was accustod to killing and preying on his enemy’s emotions.

He had been to battles with the Lord of Critic Arley and was a healthy man.

She decided to let the legitimacy of the Lady go today, she could fight the Lady next ti without a knight breathing down her neck.

At her extended silence, Lydia nodded before stepping into the trio’s personal space.

"Tell it to every one of your people, this is Lady Lydia, the Lady of your city and you shall all hear from soon" she whispered, staring Stella dead in the eye.

"Now bow" Lydia ordered.

Abigail bowed first because she knew she was now on the wrong side and Lydia must desire to destroy her, she couldn’t allow that.

Stella bowed next, her hands shaking she quickly placed her palm on her knees.

The shop owner kneeled "Lady Theodore forgive , I had rely been trying to catch a thief" she said looking up at Lydia with an apologetic expression.

Lydia cocked her head. "A thief?"

"It was a misstep on my side, I misjudged you forgive , this is the best shop you shall find in Critic Arley please spend your gold crits here" she continued her face genuine with panic.

"No" Lydia let out calmly.

She gave them her back.

"Let us leave Conan, I suddenly feel so misjudged" she giggled at the end of the sentence, her palm reaching to cover her lips.

Cesita Reyes looked at the ladies for a second too long before she rushed after the knight and the lady.

"Wait please" she called out to Lydia, her face face red from the hurried steps she took to reach them.

"My na is Cesita Reyes the viscountess of Critic Arley, thank you for standing up for earlier" she ended the sentence in a shaky whisper, her eyes tearing up.

"You are not about to cry" Lydia pointed out, eyes wide with panic.

Cesita shook her head. "I am not, it just..."

A male voice interrupted Cesita’s stutter. "What is happening here?"

"Victor" Cesita gasped, familiar with his voice.

He drew her into his arms, and as he noticed her reddened face, he scowled.

He looked at Lydia and asked. "Who are you?"

Lydia ignored him blatantly, deciding the viscount was an annoying husband for letting his wife go through all the bullying.

It was obvious to Lydia that Cesita was always trampled on like that before.

"I shall go look for my husband it was a nice outco eting you" she said her gaze firm on Cesita.

She finally looked up to Victor with a barely concealed glare. "Take care of your wife" she gritted out.

The viscount, narrowed his eyes before taking Cesita’s face in his palm, his eyes closed for the briefest of seconds before he breathed in.

"Cessy" he said wiping her tears, she looked so delicate in his arms Lydia started to miss Theodore again as she looked around.

Where is he again?

She started to ask her husband’s right-hand man. "Conan what did you say happened to-"

"Gooseberry, what happened?"

Theodore’s question cut her off as he reached them with a box in hand.

"Theodore" Lydia breathed at the sa ti as the Viscount said her husband’s na in surprise.

Victor asked imdiately. "This is your wife?"

Theodore narrowed his eyes at the viscount as he drew the eager Lydia back into his arms, she took the box from his grasp before settling in his warmth. "What are you implying with that question?" Theodore asked Victor.

Victor shrugged, his eye t Lydia’s ocean blue eyes. "She is quite genuine for you" he comnted.

Theodore gave out a cold laugh. "I am instead surprised that is your wife, she looks too innocent and fragile to have accepted you" he comnted without actually sparring her more than a glance.

"Theodore" Lydia scolded him with a tap on his toned stomach.

"He poked , Gooseberry" he retorted.

Victor shook his head as he addressed Lydia properly. "Lady Theodore, thank you for looking after my wife in there, I shall deal with them"

Victor is a stunning man with sharp edges as refined as the lord of Critic Arley’s his onyx black locks reach his lower back glowing with attraction. His orbs are the greenest of green, similar to his wife’s but different in the emotions they carry.

As Lord Theodore is a mysterious, ruthless and dangerous man.

Victor is an impenetrable monster.

He has been friends with Lord Theodore since Theodore ca to settle in Critic Arley but their friendship wasn’t one of the average kinds.

They were two monsters containing themselves in one city.

"What trouble did they cause?"

Theodore asked his wife after hearing Victor intended to take care of sothing, he had felt sothing was wrong when he saw the rabbit in Victor’s arm looking down with reddened eyes.

Conan cleared his throat suddenly active. "They wanted Lady Theodore to prove she was Lady Theodore" he confessed, toning down the rest of the happenings that he had watched.

Theodore’s gaze darkened. "Oh? And they breathe still?" he questioned Conan with a raised brow.

Theodore within a mont started to give off a murderous aura. His shoulders tight and Conan stood straighter too.

"Give my blade," he said to his right-hand man. One who quickly reached for the sword tucked in the sheath connected to his attire.

"Theodore" Lydia whispered panicked, but he had moved her away from his body and was now holding her free palm in his left and his blade in the right.

He started to march for the shop but Lydia tugged him.

"You ca too late Theodore, just pacify my aching heart" she whispered.

He paused.

His expression changed instantly. "What does my wife want?"

She hugged him again, he faced her. "Let us go ho I suddenly miss that mansion" his eyes heavy with emotions, dangerously swirling to the surface.

"Okay, Gooseberry" he agreed in a growl.

Theodore glanced away from Lydia and t Victor’s empty green eyes and they seed to have a silent conversation till they ca to an agreent.

Without another word, Theodore took his wife away.

Victor and Cesita watched in amazent as Theodore followed his wife’s wishes like a charming husband.

"I am sorry Cesita" Victor whispered and suddenly the jewellery shop was on fire, the occupant rushed outside coughing with eyes wide as saucers.

The opulence jewellery shop burnt down to ashes while the couples then back to their hos.

Theodore smirked as he tightened his hold on his wife’s delicate palm.

He hated Victor’s hobby but this once.

He shall let it lead.

Outside of the marketplace.

Critic Arley, Critic-Ishire.

The couple reached their awaiting carriage, Blanc jumped down from his church seat to greet Lydia he hadn’t been able to earlier because Lydia had looked dangerous, but now he saw her smiling as they approached.

"Lady Theodore" he bowed slightly.

Lydia smiled, the box she had taken from her husband tightly in her grasp "Good day Blanc, how is your day going?"

"It just got better Lady Theodore thank you" Blanc admitted. Her emotions affected the Lord significantly so he would prefer she remain bright.

"I am pleased" she confessed while he went back to his position.

"Conan you shall get a cart to travel the chandeliers we purchased ho" Theodore ordered handing a paper of the address to the chandelier shop to the knight.

"Yes, Lord Theodore" Conan agreed.

"Please tell the labourers to treat them with care" Lydia pleaded with Conan, her shawl had fallen and she was yet to put it back up.

"Yes, Lady Theodore"

Lydia smiled, Conan must feel apologetic for so reason, it is making him overly gracious, she thought.

Theodore approached his smiling wife, he helped her into the carriage before following her in, her smile dropped when he took them into his mouth.

Within the intimate confines of their horse-drawn carriage.

The atmosphere charged with anticipation. A soft breeze drifted in, causing goosebumps to coat Lydia’s arms, while Theodore explored her mouth.

His eyes reflected genuine affection.

Lydia has her eyes closed as she lets her husband guide her into the pool of affection and passion.

The box she had been clutching tightly dropped onto the carriage floor as her fingers suddenly beca jelly. she t his gaze with a subtle smile while he took her lips again.

As the carriage ambles through the early evening, the two draw closer, sealing their connection in the quiet embrace of the carriage.
