Sky City.
Rachel’s favorite restaurant was filled with the aroma of various foods, including roasted chicken with golden crispy skin, steak, lamb chops, and fish balls... The main course was real white bread.
Besides, there was an unlimited supply of light beer.
"Cheers!"
Rachel raised her foamy beer mug, looking exceptionally excited, "Today’s on !"
"Cheers!"
Morey Pavilion was also very happy, feeling although he hadn’t carried out that significant deed, things were still progressing in the best direction.
This filled him with hope for the future!
"I think Rachel probably can’t afford it..."
Zhong Shenxiu silently observed the nu and prices, then teasingly said to Zola.
"No worries, at worst I’ll just lend her so."
Zola gulped down a beer with joy and equally cheerfully said, "Li Wei... you’re too... rational, but most importantly, being happy is what matters!"
"Yes... being happy!"
Zhong Shenxiu sipped her beer and suddenly touched her forehead as she felt a severe danger!
It was the kind that could threaten life itself!
The next mont!
Roar!
Each person seed to hear a dragon’s roar in their hearts.
A terrifying shadow seed to erge before their eyes.
It was a symbolic dragon composed entirely of mysterious symbols and patterns.
It had no physical body, yet it seed to enter the hearts of every citizen of Sky City along with the roar of the dragon!
Thump, thump!
Many people’s heart rates sped up, their veins bulged, and those who were slightly weaker imdiately lost the ability to move.
Smash!
Many beer mugs fell to the ground, causing chaos everywhere.
"This is... the Sky Dragon... a god-level Spirit contaminant! The Sky Dragon!"
Morey Pavilion exclaid in disbelief, "It’s attacking Sky City? No... that’s impossible!"
In his past life, the Sky Dragon was also nad among the god-level monsters that caused the fall of Sky City.
But that was supposed to happen years later!
Why?
Why did ngde’s becoming a council mber instead lead to the end arriving earlier?
"Larry Bruce!"
Morey Pavilion thought of sothing and almost gnashed his teeth.
"Ordinary mbers maintain order! The main force, co with !"
Zola’s lips were nearly bleeding as she issued the cold command.
As a mber of the Resource Recovery Departnt and a lower-tier Demon Hunter, she was also one of the combatants of Sky City.
At this ti, there was an urgent need to rally and pilot their chas into battle!
Although facing a god-level monster was terrifying, Sky City definitely had experience dealing with them, having even slain two!
Gorosa’s Eye and the Pale Remnants were monunts to glory and bravery!
Morey Pavilion did not obey the command; he bit his teeth and rushed towards Laboratory 3.
He knew that sothing must have gone wrong with the Pale Remnants, under Larry’s supervision in that laboratory!
If that issue wasn’t resolved, more god-level monsters would keep coming, and then, exceeding the limits of Sky City’s endurance, they would bring about a terrible disaster!
"Morey Pavilion!"
Rachel shouted, "What are you doing? Co back!"
"I’ll go after him!"
Zhong Shenxiu deliberately let Morey Pavilion get so distance ahead before finding an excuse and chasing after him.
"Damn it, one after the other, no discipline or organization—do they think I’m dead?"
Behind him, Zola, like a furious mother leopard, utterly lost it and let out a roar of impotence.
...
Sky City, at its highest point.
Inside the Sky Fortress.
The glaring red warning lights were flashing frantically, but the duty guards and Demon Hunters remained composed, resolutely standing by their posts.
The Supre Council was called to an ergency eting.
ngde, dressed in a fittingly black, gold-trimd, magnificent robe that felt uncomfortably tight, had no ti to care about that. Pushing open the room door, he loudly asked, "What’s going on?"
"The Sky Dragon, for reasons unknown, is attacking us furiously! Its first wave of shrieks has caused us great harm... Fortunately, the Spirit Defense Tower was activated in ti."
An elderly man with graying hair but in very good spirits calmly reported.
He was Councilor Hoff, a bigshot who had risen from the technical departnt and was very familiar with all of Sky City’s technology.
The so-called ’Spirit Defense Tower,’ taken from the ’original canon’ volu one, could help ordinary people resist ntal shocks.
Otherwise, when faced with that dragon roar, ordinary people would not just have rapid heartbeats, but their hearts would burst on the spot!
"With more than two-thirds of the council mbers present, we can start voting. I declare Sky City is now in warti status, any objections?"
Councilor Hoff looked around, nodding with approval, "Good... Activate the wide-range ntal disruption device, force the Sky Dragon to reveal itself, and the cha division of the defense departnt be ready for action at any mont!"
"Where’s Larry? Why hasn’t he arrived?"
At this ti, of the seven major council mbers, the other six were already present, and a middle-aged female council mber asked with furrowed brows.
"I’ve always felt that Larry is hiding sothing, and now it seems that he indeed has secrets... I suspect they’re related to the Pale Remains."
Another council mber sighed.
"Can we only wait here for the outco?"
ngde slamd his fist on the conference table: "You have enough commanders, I need to go back and continue leading the Resource Recovery Division—it’s an important force!"
"Granted!"
The other council mbers passed the resolution without question.
...
Outside the imnse Sky Floating Island.
Silently, a pale blue light screen swept by.
This was Sky City’s ntal disruption device, another piece of dark or rather mysterious technology from the ’original canon.’
Boom!
With a flash of pale blue light, a dark shadowy veil suddenly appeared in the void.
Behind the veil lurked a sinister-looking dragon.
’Its’ shape blurred, like a constantly shifting and twisting fog, within which flickered countless mysterious symbols and patterns, together forming the outline of a dragon—its scales, claws...
The chaotic visage could drive any ordinary person into ntal turmoil or even cause instant death upon sight!
This god-level spirit contamination entity was forced into the real world.
At the sa ti, within Sky City, massive steel gates opened, and squadrons of fighter jets urgently took off, roaring towards the sky.
"Target the Sky Dragon, fire!"
The crew mbers, wearing specialized goggles, roared as they maneuvered the fighter jets to beautifully arc through the sky, suddenly squeezing the attack button.
Swoosh, swoosh!
Streams of bullets, iron torrents, crashed onto the constantly shifting Sky Dragon.
No sparks, no collision.
They silently absorbed into those mysterious symbols and the vast fog as if stones thrown into the sea, disappearing one after another.
Boom!
The fighter jet squadron didn’t stop its attack, releasing rocket missiles with fiery trails that exploded violently as they approached the Sky Dragon.
The intense shockwave swept over the enigmatic dragon...
