Mortal Tribulations are much more unpredictable. So are simply ordinary tribulations, like an enemy calculating your position and slaying you with a sword before your Daoist Skill matures—easy to pass if you survive.
However, Mortal Tribulations are unpredictable and hard to foresee, often catching one unaware even as disaster looms.
Even people close to a Cultivator, such as their Dao partners, children, or disciples, might beco their Mortal Tribulation. Even if you kill them, you’d still be left with a Heart Demon.
As for Fate Tribulations, they are impossible to resist.
This is because Fate Tribulations often originate internally and cannot be resolved with Protective Dharma Treasures, nor even with the support of a ntor.
For instance, the second and third disasters of Primordial Pill Formation, Fire Tribulation and Wind Tribulation, both start internally within the Cultivator, like demonic possession, and are extrely difficult to resist.
By the ti of the fourth tribulation of Primordial Spirit, it becos even more inscrutable, such as falling in love with a woman beset by karmic debts. Even after revolving through three lifetis, one cannot escape, leading even masters to sigh that it’s a ’fated tribulation destined in one’s life!’"
