The man cleared his throat and slamd his hands onto the table, creating a loud bang.

"We don’t have ti for all this charade; get on with it now!"

"Yuki and Ryu, head to the church as early as tomorrow. Get so rest, because it’s going to be a long day!"

The two nodded in reply, while the other two pairs remained as they exited the room.

"You four, I have different and specific places to send each of your pairs. I hope it won’t disrupt your daily lives tomorrow; those other two have no choice anyway..."

...

Ryu stood by the expansive glass wall of his apartnt, looking out at the heart of Osaka - Namba.

The city buzzed with activity; pedestrians hurried along the busy streets, couples strolled hand in hand, and cars sped by, their engines humd in the morning air.

The traffic light at the intersection switched from red to green, setting cars to move after workers and students crossed.

His one-bedroom sanctuary gave a view of this lively panorama. Paying ¥150,000 a month allowed him to live here.

Dawn broke, sunlight poured through the glass, shedding a incandescent glow across the wooden floor and illuminating the contemporary furnishings.

Ryu squinted against the brightness, the dark circles under his eyes revealed he had a night of restless tossing and turning. Dressed in blue-dotted pyjamas and soft house slippers, he cradled a steaming cup of coffee, taking a leisurely sip. The rich aroma enveloped him, but fatigue lingered.

Suddenly, he heard the sound of a pin code being entered. Ryu glanced towards the door just as it swung open with a cheerful ding.

Yuki stepped inside.

She wore a trendy cropped denim jacket over a fitted graphic tee, paired with high-waisted jeans that hugged her curves perfectly.

A chic belt cinched at her waist, adding a touch of flair, while her elegant handbag was swung onto her shoulder.

"You sll awful! Go and have a wash!" she exclaid, wrinkling her nose at the sight of Ryu. In her hand, she held a white nylon bag containing three cans of beer.

Ryu eyed the nylon bag as she placed it on the centre table, positioned before a plush three-seater sofa facing a 56-inch smart television.

"Don’t tell you’re planning to start drinking? It’s barely 8 AM!" he replied, raising an eyebrow.

"Indeed... I need a little refreshnt before we head off to that ’Catholic Church’," she said casually.

With a resigned sigh, Ryu set his coffee cup down on the table and ambled towards his room, heading for the master bedroom.

Yuki wasted no ti.

She grabbed the first can of beer, popped it open, and brought it to her lips. The crisp, cold liquid flowed down her throat, leaving a refreshing sensation in its wake. She savoured the taste, a delightful mix of bitterness and sweetness.

"Mmm," she sighed contentedly, reclining back into the sofa, her legs resting on the table as she took another sip.

anwhile, Ryu entered his room, the en-suite bathroom called to him - he actually reeked. He prepared for a much-needed bath, the sounds of an animal docuntary on the television filling the apartnt as Yuki relaxed, enjoying her drink and the soothing background noise.

A couple of minutes later, Ryu erged from his room in a picture of casual elegance. He wore a distressed, cream-colored cashre sweater over a charcoal grey t-shirt.

His dark jeans were paired with pristine white sneakers – designer, of course, but comfortably worn. He sighted Yuki sprawled on the sofa, already halfway through her third can of beer, srized by a nature docuntary displaying the mating sequence of so obscure species of frog.

Yuki was the type who could drink eight cans of beer and remain as lucid as a judge. Ryu, on the other hand, would be snoring soundly after owo.

He called out, "Yuki, I’m ready."

With alacrity, Yuki dropped her half-empty can, then she switched off the TV, and leaped to her feet, clapping a hand on Ryu’s shoulder.

"Now, you sll quite good!" she exclaid, her breath slled faintly of hops and sothing floral.

Ryu shrugged off her hand.

"Your breath is uncalled for..."

Together, they left the apartnt, their footsteps echoed down the hallway. The elevator ascended smoothly, delivering them to the ground floor.

Yuki’s sports car was parked by the road side of the highway – a sleek, obsidian black car.

Its body had sharp lines and a bold stance. The headlights were narrow and angular. Large, well-crafted wheels filled the fenders.

"You brought your car?" Ryu asked, the question was rhetorical.

Yuki nodded, and sprinted to the driver’s side. The car’s doors, resembling wings, gracefully rose upwards, revealing the luxurious, minimalist interior. They slid into the plush leather seats, and with a soft whoosh, the doors closed, sealing them in.

Passersby stopped to stare, their heads turned to the car. Whispers and excited chatter followed them – comnts like, "Did you see that car?" and "Wow, that’s got to be a million-dollar ride!" rippled through the small crowd.

Yuki started the engine. She pulled onto the highway, accelerating smoothly and swiftly. The car practically lted into the road, leaving a trail of admiring stares.

"Just don’t kill with your crazy driving," Ryu said with a note of genuine concern in his voice. "It’s a miracle you don’t have thirty body counts a week."

Yuki pressed the accelerator, pushing the car to 120 km/h. Ryu’s eyes widened as he watched her skillfully weave through traffic like a seasoned racer.

She deftly darted past vehicles with precision.

Then, Yuki glanced at Ryu, her excitent was infectious. She reached into the compartnt between the driver and passenger seats, retrieving a pair of black sunglasses.

Slipping them on with a grin, the lenses reflected the sunlight.

"You really need a therapist... It’s quite concerning..." Ryu remarked, attempting to mask his anxiety.

Yuki simply laughed.

"Co on, live a little!" she replied, pushing the car even faster.

After a thrilling ride, they approached the Catholic Church, its tall spires rose majestically against the clear blue sky. Yuki expertly manoeuvred into a parking space just in front of the entrance, the car ca to a smooth stop.

They stepped out, the cool air refreshing after the warmth inside the car. Ryu took a mont to admire the church.

Then he turned to Yuki with apprehension in his voice. "When we’re heading back, I’m taking a taxi!"

"Do whatever!" Yuki shot back.

The building had a glass façade, reflecting the surrounding skyline. Tall, pointed steeple stood elegantly. The exterior was fixed with stone carvings and large arched windows, allowing natural light in.

A courtyard surrounded the cathedral, filled with lush greenery and pathways.

They proceeded into entering the building, opening the large wooden door. Sunlight was thrown across their path.

Spacious nave adorned with stained glass windows that depicted biblical scenes and saints, coloured in blue and red.

Light filtered through the colourful glass, shedding patterns on the wooden pews. The celling was high vaulted.

At the front, the altar was beautifully decorated, flanked by candles and floral arrangents.

Suddenly, a haunting lody filled the air!

The grand piano, perched on the left balcony, played an ominous tune—"Lacrimosa" from Mozart’s Requiem.

Yuki furrowed her brow, glancing around.

"Isn’t the place supposed to be empty today?" she asked.

Ryu squinted towards the balcony.

"I can’t see the person playing the piano."

Yuki fixed her gaze on the wooden balcony rails and appeared there, standing steadily on the rail.

Instantly, she gasped and hastily leapt back from the edge, crashing onto the altar below.

At that mont, a powerful gust of wind swept through the cathedral, slamming the large wooden doors shut with a resounding thud, locking them in.
