The farrs working at the farm in the afternoon worked really hard, despite the scorching sun beating down on them and the heavy thoughts in their mind.

So were weeding, a few were picking fruits, while others planted new seeds. At the animal shelter, Elara and the others attended to the livestock.

But then, they heard a loud shout from a fellow farr, which caught their attention and caused them to look in the direction the young farr was pointing, bringing their gaze to five mighty flying beasts approaching their village.

Their gazes quickly t that of two familiar figures sitting atop the divine beasts — it was none other than their hope, Lord Rowan and Lady Riela.

The farrs could not react properly, rather, they did not know how to respond to the situation — their ntal spheres were blasted with so many emotions that they did not know the exact one to reveal.

"Lord Rowan!!"

"Lord Rowan is alive!"

"Yes!!"

"Hurray!"

A few seconds later, the farrs erupted in loud cheers.

They let go of their farming tools and began jumping around, hugging each other, while so even broke down in joyful tears.

Those inside the shelter were alerted by the shouts, when they got out and saw the cause of the commotion, they too joined in the jubilation.

At that mont, Black Drifter rocketed past the farrs and approached Rowan. It shrunk to the size of a dove and perched on Rowan's shoulder. Rowan gave it a soft pat.

Almost a few seconds later, Blaze shot into the farm area and halted. It began howling loudly, its bestial voice revealing its excitent.

"Wow…"

Eliman and rla were flabbergasted by just how much joy the arrival of Rowan had brought to his people. Both of them were even more surprised when they saw the two unique divine beasts that ca to welco the village head.

Rowan, on the other hand, smiled calmly at the welcoming gesture of his people. It was nice being back in the place where he is celebrated and worshiped.

Nevertheless, he could not be completely happy knowing a monster storm was approaching the village in a few hours.

Dragun and Riela were the sa — they were glad to be ho, but concerned about the monster horde approaching.

The five soon flew past the farmlands. The mages controlling the divine beasts flew lower, giving Rowan the chance to wave at the villagers.

"Lord Rowan! Lord Rowan!"

The chants got louder.

As Rowan flew past them toward the village square, all of them began sprinting after him.

"Damn, I never knew you were this great with your people."

Eliman spoke while looking back at the villagers chasing after them.

"Hehe, this is just a little display of how much love they have for their handso Lord."

Rowan bragged and fixed his gaze on the village square.

At the village square, most of the villagers had already gathered and were jubilating. Their loud chants thundered across the village.

Once the divine beasts arrived and Rowan dismounted, the crowd beca even more erratic, everyone wanted to get closer to get a clearer look at their lord.

It only took the effort of the captains and so soldiers to maintain the crowd.

The others also dismounted and strolled beside Rowan.

The mage from the Castle of Might bade them farewell and wished them good luck with the pending monster storm before flying away.

I have to get my soldiers ready imdiately. The more ti we waste, the closer those monsters get to the village. Rowan thought while looking at the happy villagers.

He would've loved to continue enjoying the scene, but unfortunately he had to cut it short for the mont.

"Everyone, please return to your hos."

Rowan announced with a loud voice that spread across the entire village square.

The chants and noise of the villagers died at once. They all looked at him, curious and surprised.

"The monster horde calamity we have always dreaded is approaching. We need all of you to remain in your hos while myself and my gallant soldiers step out to defeat the horde and return peace to Winterseed."

Rowan continued speaking after the silence died down.

There were several surprised gasps, but he didn't mind and continued with his speech.

"Based on the number of monsters, we might spend more than two days figuring it out. Whilst that is going on, none of you should step out of your hos, as there are flying monsters amongst the hordes. They might penetrate our defense and invade the village, those outside would be in dire danger and no one would be able to help."

His words brought about the expected reaction of surprise and horror. Simply hearing how long it would take made the villagers even more scared.

Rowan spoke more — he instructed the soldiers to gear up while the others returned to their hos.

Rowan sent Riela ho as well, although she was pretty reluctant about leaving his side.

Rowan was not certain about her safety at her current rank.

He might allow her to accompany him in situations like these when she becos a Tier-1 mage and possesses combat spells. One should not forget that she would be able to use Light and Spirit magic once she becos a Tier-1 mage.

Rowan distributed weapons to all of them, as well as the upper-body chainmail armor he managed to craft the previous night. Though it took a lot of work, he had to cook up his own blueprint inside the crafting space. It took him about two days inside the crafting space to completely make them.

The soldiers geared up as fast as they could and equipped themselves with the weapons they were good with.

While gearing up, Rowan was inford by Captain Roland about the strange weather changes that had been happening.

There is going to be a weather-type calamity during the monster horde ones? What would be the third one? Fuck, I might go crazy thinking about how to solve all these. Rowan lanted inwardly.

He told the captains to only focus on the monster horde for now.

If a weather-type calamity like a heavy storm were to happen, he was sure Eliman or rla or even Dragun might be able to work on it.

Eliman and rla were pretty surprised by observing everything.

First, they were shocked by the divine beasts and the rarity of their race, as well as their power levels.

Then they were shocked when Rowan brought out hundreds of weapons from his inventory. Not just the amount of weapons—they were shocked by their grade and just how expensive it was to obtain them.

Even the lord of a developing kingdom would find it difficult to afford all these, let alone a re village head.

The more rla observed the fellow, the more surprised she beca.

Even Eliman was shocked by the prowess of his friend.

About two hours passed, and the soldiers finished preparing themselves.

Rowan arranged them into three assemblies and began marching them towards the monster horde.

The villagers hiding behind locked doors observed their n marching out of the village once again to defend them.

The villagers were laced with so many emotions — they hadn't even gotten to spend peaceful ti with these soldiers since they returned from their hunting trip.

They could only pray fervently that they co back alive and erge victorious in their battle against their inhuman adversaries.

Outside Winterseed, countless monsters approached with bloodlust — the Monster Horde Calamity was about to kick off!
