Valery didn’t answer and suddenly just beca silent.
Thinking that he might have said sothing wrong, Jay was about to tell her to forget about his question.
But just then, Valery opened her mouth and started talking.
"...I told you as well yesterday, right? I’ve been stressed and everything with my life back in Cebu."
"Actually, school is just a small part of the cause of my stress."
Turning her eyes back into the horizon, Valery continued,
"What’s really causing stress back ho is my family."
Hearing that, Jay’s curiosity was piqued.
From what he noticed with Valery, he concluded that she is soone from a wealthy family.
For her to be having problems with her family, it sounds just like a story you’ll see from a tv series.
While Jay is having such thoughts, Valery doesn’t stop talking.
" and my dad actually don’t get along. My dad owns a company in Mindanao and most of his ti was spent there."
"As for my mom, she’s also busy with her own company. Because of that, I actually grew up with my grandparents."
"These caused to be distant from my own parents. But it didn’t matter to . My grandparents showed love and care as I grew up."
"It was thanks to them why I didn’t feel the need for my parents."
For a mont, Jay saw a smile appear on Valery’s face with a lancholic look.
Then suddenly, her face beca sad and she said,
"But not long ago, both of my grandparents died. I was devastated because for , they were the only ones I have."
"They were the only people who cared about . And they were gone."
Valery’s eyes beca tearful and it seed like her tears would fall down in a second.
Jay hurriedly took out a tissue from one of his paper bags and handed it to Valery.
Looking at him with gratitude, Valery wiped her eyes gently before continuing.
"It was around that ti that I happened to stumble upon your live stream. For so reason, your attitude in front of the cara attracted my attention."
"At first, I watched you because it keeps distracted. But one day, you said sothing that made smile involuntarily."
"It was from that day on that I decided to stay with you. To keep on watching you. And sohow, even if you don’t do anything, I still find watching you entertaining."
"Because of that, you really helped get over my sadness after I lost my grandparents."
A bright smile could be seen on Valery’s face at this ti as she looked straight at Jay.
On the other hand, hearing her words made Jay fall into a daze.
Honestly, it was one of Jay’s long ti questions.
Why is YourBibi or Valery always in his live stream room?
So it was because of this.
Jay can’t help but feel happy inside.
Unknowingly, despite thinking that he, himself, was boring, there’s actually soone who finds him entertaining.
And to learn that he was able to be of help to soone, Jay felt a fuzzy feeling in his heart.
Jay can’t help but look at Valery differently. He felt closer to her now than ever before.
"Val..."
Jay softly called out her na.
With a smile, Valery said,
"Even if it was not intentional, thank you for being there with in my darkest tis, Jay."
The heartfelt words of Valery ca to Jay and the two of them just looked at each other in silence.
After a while, the mood of the two of them recovered and Jay rembered sothing.
"By the way, you didn’t tell what’s stressing you out in your family currently."
Hearing that, a frown appeared on Valery’s face and she sighed.
"Well... it’s actually because of my dad. He’s been introducing to so n and wants to go out on dates."
Jay raised an eyebrow, "He’s introducing them?"
Suddenly, Jay thought of sothing and asked, "Hmm, are those n from reputable families or sothing?"
Valery watched the kids playing on the sand and answered.
"Yeah. So of them are sons of my dad’s business partners while so have families involved in politics."
After hearing that, Jay understood what’s happening.
"Your dad is trying to use you to build or strengthen connections with those people?"
Valery nodded without saying anything.
Jay stared at her face that was illuminated by the orange glow of the sun at this ti and saw emotions.
Hesitating for a bit, Jay asked,
"Does your dad plan to marry you off?"
Valery slowly shifted her gaze back to Jay.
With a sad smile, she said,
"What’s the fastest way to build connections between two families if not marriage, right?"
Jay fell silent after hearing that.
After a while, he opened his mouth again and said,
"What do you plan to do?"
Taking a deep breath, Valery said,
"In all honesty, I also don’t know. I’ve been thinking about leaving behind my life in Cebu and just forgetting about everything."
"But I still can’t make a decision."
"All of my expenses are still coming from my parents. If I leave everything behind, I’ll have to start working for myself."
"Then, do that. If that’s what will give you your freedom, do that."
Jay said without hesitation.
Valery seriously looked at Jay with a hint of sadness in her eyes.
"But I don’t know how to, Jay."
"All my life, I’ve been cared for by my grandparents. All I had to do was study and everything will be provided for ."
"So now, I really don’t know what steps I have to take to really manage to stand on my own two feet and that scares , Jay."
"I might not be soone that can be fully called a flower in a greenhouse, but I’m not far from them."
In her voice, Jay could hear the cry for help full of worry and anxiousness.
It’s like looking at a kid who’s lost and doesn’t know what to do.
Jay thought for a mont and said,
"Would you like to teach you?"
