Facing Carson's teasing, Tyce's expression darkened, his brows tightly knit.
He had the skills—but never even got the chance to use them.
From start to finish, he hadn't so much as touched the hem of Zhang Yang's clothes.
Even after retirent, none of them had slacked off. You could tell from the muscle on their bodies.
They could still easily take on ten n each.
"Carson, if you were the one on duty last night, you wouldn't be saying that."
"You can never predict what Kaitō Kid will do next."
Tyce's face was grim. "The director gave three days to catch Kaitō Kid and recover the Tianmu Glazed Bowl."
Jayhan gave a short nod.
"No problem. Let's get to work."
The three of them began laying out a plan.
Outside the British Museum, the crowd watched as Carson and Jayhan were welcod inside by Tyce himself.
Naturally, they started speculating.
[Are those Tyce's friends? Are they here to help catch Kaitō Kid?]
[Wow, looks like we're in for another show. Those two guys are built like tanks.]
[Kaitō Kid's incredible—how co we've never heard of him before? It's like he just popped out of nowhere!]
[That's what you call "silent until the first thunderclap."]
Before long, news started spreading online too.
Two unknown individuals had entered the British Museum—suspected to be Tyce's old teammates.
A trio of retired special ops forming a squad? That ant they could carry out elite-level operations. Their strength was not to be underestimated.
And among the three of them, one had the strongest combat skills—he was now a professional fighter.
While he hadn't had any breakout wins, he was a well-known na in the fighting circuit.
Soon, people online began recognizing him.
[Carson?! What the hell—Carson?!]
[Three ex-special ops guys chasing a thief... this is getting good.]
[Sh*t, did you just call Kaitō Kid a thief?]
[So Carson and Tyce are friends? Kaitō Kid is screwed now!]
[That's if Kaitō Kid shows up. If not, they'll still walk away empty-handed.]
Online chatter exploded in all directions.
Back at ho, Zhang Yang was browsing too—but he didn't take them seriously at all.
Brute force without brains. Just another bunch of atheads.
Around noon, Tyce issued a public challenge online under his own na.
"I'm Tyce, Head of Security at the British Museum. I promise everyone, I will catch Kaitō Kid and retrieve the Tianmu Glazed Bowl!"
"Kaitō Kid—I've got my eyes on you. Get ready."
He clenched his fists, eyes sharp and full of nace.
In the comnt section, plenty of people rallied behind him.
[Tyce, we support you! Bring Kaitō Kid to justice!]
[Whoa, Tyce is so cool—he's definitely gonna catch him!]
[Two reinforcents show up and suddenly you're all cocky again?]
[Oh my god! I still don't get it—why are you all siding with a thief?]
Tyce did all of this with one goal—to provoke Kaitō Kid into showing up.
And Zhang Yang knew exactly what he was trying to do.
So, he gave him what he wanted.
Just after 2 p.m., a white dove flew in front of the British Museum, a letter clutched in its beak.
The guards at the front gate saw the emblem on the envelope and instantly panicked.
The dove dropped the letter into the museum's mailbox, then turned and flew away.
A guard took out the envelope, saw Kaitō Kid's iconic sketch on the front, and imdiately rushed it to the director.
"Kaitō Kid! Kaitō Kid sent another letter!"
Hearing the news, the director's face went pale with shock.
The British Museum couldn't afford to be robbed again. If it happened one more ti, his days as director would be numbered.
He tore open the envelope and pulled out the rectangular card inside. A single ssage was written on it:
"When night falls, I will appear at the place you know best and take the item you treasure most. Are you looking forward to it?"
The mont he read it, the director exploded with rage.
"Get Tyce in here—I want to see him imdiately!"
The security guard nodded and hurried off to the Head of Security's office.
When Tyce heard that Kaitō Kid had sent another warning letter, he was secretly thrilled.
This was exactly what he'd hoped for when he issued the public challenge online. He wanted Kaitō Kid to show up again—and now he had.
Tyce brought Carson and Jayhan with him to the director's office.
The director slid the card across the table for them to see.
"This just ca in. Take a look for yourselves."
Tyce picked up the card and read the ssage carefully, his brows furrowing.
"The place you know best...?"
"Kaitō Kid's coming back to the museum?"
The director took a deep breath and shook his head, face dark as ever.
The only clear part of the ssage was that Kaitō Kid would strike at night.
But what "familiar place" and "most treasured item" ant—he had no clue.
Carson and Jayhan glanced at the letter too, then took a closer look at the envelope.
The na on the recipient line was none other than the museum director.
"Well, this just got interesting. Looks like the target this ti is you, Director."
"Look at the na on the envelope—'Brant.' That's your na, isn't it?"
The director had already noticed—and that's exactly why he was furious.
"Tyce, you've already let Kaitō Kid succeed once!"
"This ti, I expect you to catch him. He cannot be allowed to steal another thing!"
Tyce frowned, deep in thought.
"The place you know best... the item you treasure most..."
The British Museum held over eighty thousand artifacts, all incredibly valuable.
But none of them belonged to the director—and definitely not to Tyce.
Since the envelope was addressed to the director, the ssage had to be understood from his point of view.
"I suspect Kaitō Kid's target this ti... isn't the museum. It's you, Director."
"? That punk wouldn't dare! Hmph."
The director let out a cold snort.
He looked calm on the outside—but inside, he was absolutely panicking.
An hour earlier, the system had sent Zhang Yang his new mission.
[Ding!]
[New mission: Steal Brant's night-luminescent pearl worth hundreds of millions!]
[Reward: Kaitō Kid's Limited Skill Bundle – choose any three tid skills!]
Brant was the director of the British Museum.
So Zhang Yang used his points in the shop to exchange for a ssenger dove, which he used to deliver the warning letter.
"A night-luminescent pearl worth hundreds of millions? A museum director makes that kind of money?"
If it were a private collector with a rare night pearl, that'd be believable.
Private collectors were usually rich and owned tons of assets—it wouldn't be surprising.
But for a museum director to have a pearl worth that much? That definitely raised questions. The origin of that pearl was more than a little suspicious.
anwhile, on Kaitō Kid's hopage, the director's new warning letter had already been posted.
[Interesting. What's Kaitō Kid's new target?]
[Sothing he treasures most? Must be insanely valuable. This guy is crazy!]
[Brant? Isn't that the director of the British Museum? Is he the next target?]
[Hahaha, hope Brant isn't having too bad of a day!]
