Bi Fang tightly gripped the spear in his hands as faint scraping sounds and muffled swallowing noises ca from outside the wooden cabin.

The cold wind whistled mournfully, and the strange noises made one's skin crawl, especially knowing that there were over twenty Arctic Wolves outside the cabin. Most people would probably have been scared stiff by now, but only Bi Fang could sit on the kang and calmly converse with his audience.

Fortunately, the wooden cabin provided everyone with a sense of safety, still allowing them to joke around in the barrage of comnts.

The cabin, made entirely of solid wood, was quite thick. Moreover, Bi Fang's construction skills were exquisite—he had filled many gaps with clay, and the joints were all tenon-and-mortise, giving the structure high strength. Unless the twenty wolves outside were turned into polar bears, it would be very difficult to break through.

[Chickened out, Master Fang chickened out]

[Even the King of the Wild is scared?]

[Master Fang didn't rush out, respect]

[Say the wimpiest words with the most hateful tone]

"You go. You do it."

Facing the comnts, Bi Fang made a powerful coback.

[Go out and it's GG]

[All fun and gas, but don't joke with your life]

[Is Master Fang really that generous? Letting the Arctic Wolves eat them all?]

[They can't eat that much, right? Probably just about the sa as one musk ox?]

"That's not necessarily true," Bi Fang stroked his chin.

Knowing the six gluttons around him was enough to understand that, as pure carnivores and wild animals, the Arctic Wolves lived on feast or famine and would only eat more than dostic dogs.

"Arctic Wolves have a thick fur coat to protect against the cold, so they're not afraid of the cold, but during the long winter, sotis they go a long ti without catching food."

"Only when sumr cos, teeming with life, do they have enough food. That's why Arctic Wolves eat more at a ti, consuming over 9 kilograms of at and bones to accumulate enough nutrients and fat. In the winter, they survive the bitter cold and hunger by relying on the fat stored in their bodies."

"Over ti, they've developed this skill, so their appetite is much larger than one might imagine."

Nine kilograms of at in one al!

Eighteen pounds!

Good heavens.

The audience was startled. Although many didn't have a clear concept of how much at that was in one al, there were still quite a few who knew that a normal adult eating only at might consu about one pound per al, and perhaps a bit more if they did physical labor.

Yet the Arctic Wolves, weighing less than humans, multiplied this amount by eighteen tis.

Anyone can do the math, twenty tis nine is one hundred and eighty kilograms. If these wolf pups really went all out, two musk oxen wouldn't be enough; they would need to throw in a bear as well.

All efforts gone in a blink!

Was Bi Fang that generous?

Of course not!

"I'll give them at most half a musk oxen, no more." Bi Fang peered through the observation hole in the wooden cabin, watching the Arctic Wolves that had dug a big hole and were dragging out a musk ox.

"Half an ox is out of my goodwill; life isn't easy for the Arctic Wolves, with just over ten thousand left in the world. But any more would affect my survival."

Half a musk oxen, about a hundred pounds of food, would be enough to satisfy the twenty wolves.

After feasting, their fighting will would plumt to rock bottom, and they would choose to retreat after just a slight loss in battle.

Bi Fang remarked with a sigh, "But their teeth are really in pri condition."

The temperature outside was below negative forty degrees; the reindeer at was frozen as hard as a rock, yet the group of Arctic wolves gnawed at it with glee, clearly having gone hungry for a prolonged period.

Life in the Polar Region is not easy.

Even Bi Fang, with his good teeth, had to soak the at in warm water to soften it before he could eat it raw, truly deserving of being a wolf.

[The natives don't have it as good as Master Fang]

[Is it that tough?]

[Otherwise, why would wildlife generally have short lifespans (laughs)]]

The cold weather, coupled with Bi Fang's excellent hiding, ant the scent did not spread too much. For the mont, the Arctic wolves managed to dig out only one reindeer and did not find the rest of the supplies.

All the wolves in the pack gathered around, but at this ti, only the Wolf King was feeding.

Even in the Arctic wolf packs, there is a strict hierarchy; the upper echelons must eat their fill before it's the turn of those below them.

"The leading male wolf is the dominant wolf within this group and naturally gets first dibs on the food. Then, the subordinate dominant wolves eat, followed by the rest in descending rank order, with no overstepping allowed. The whole process will likely go through about three rounds."

The leading wolf tore at the reindeer at, as hard as stone, with great difficulty.

This wolf was noticeably larger than the others, and its appearance was quite fierce. The Arctic Wolf King indeed should not be underestimated; even on these snowy plains, there were cases where the Wolf King single-handedly took down musk oxen.

"I haven't encountered this group of Arctic wolves for more than a month; they must have road here," Bi Fang mused thoughtfully.

Most wolf packs have their hunting grounds, but the Arctic wolves are different. The Arctic environnt is too harsh.

In the bitter cold of winter, animals that hibernate sleep comfortable, but Arctic wolves are constantly on the move, traveling back and forth to multiple locations over long distances for food.

To catch food and expand their hunting range, they would even roam across areas exceeding 2,600 square kiloters.

[Sounds really rough]

[A miracle of evolution indeed]

The Wolf King ate quickly, and only after it had its fill did the second batch get to eat, the number of wolves increasing significantly to seven.

Once these seven had finished, it was finally the turn of the old and weak in the pack, a dozen wolves, who gathered around a reindeer to tear at it, the younger ones not even able to bite into it, gnawing at a piece of red at on the snowy ground, licking it and eating whatever little at they could after it lted.

When the third batch had nearly finished eating, more than half of the entire reindeer had disappeared, but the satiated pack of wolves was not content. Several wolves stood up and circled the spot where Bi Fang had buried the musk oxen, clearly in search of sothing.

"Just as I thought," he said.

Bi Fang knew he shouldn't have been optimistic; watching the wolves ready to strike again, he grabbed his weapon and pushed open the wooden door.

"Gah!"

Goudan lifted his head, just waking from a dream and still sowhat groggy, unaware of what had transpired, his eyes scanning his surroundings.

Is it daylight already?

A faint burnt sll lingered in the air, seemingly emanating from his own head, but Goudan paid it no mind—it was likely a side effect of heating. Every ti he lay completely against the self-heating stone, this sll would waft from his body.

However, very quickly, the sled dogs present realized sothing was amiss, each alert and shaking off their fur.

The atmosphere... was off!

The sound of the wooden door opening also caught the wolves' attention, and without exception, they all stood up and growled lowly at Bi Fang.

Bi Fang shut the wooden door and licked the corner of his mouth, listening to the wolf pack in front of him.

"If you've eaten your fill, it's ti to scram."

The wolves' response was to charge.
