Hunting is a ga of patience.

All afternoon, Bi Fang lay in the snow waiting for an opportunity, but fortune did not favor him, and no good chance presented itself.

Yet Bi Fang was not discouraged, for compared to the ultimate catch, spending a few days was completely worthwhile.

Hunting large animals belongs to the type where if you don’t open for half a year, you feast for half a year when you do.

The audience, however, appeared sowhat restless. Nearly two days had passed since they spotted the musk oxen, but they still had nothing to show for it. On the contrary, they gained three big eaters instead of profits, a clear loss-making business.

It was particularly worrying that they might fall into a vicious cycle once again.

This type of resource scarcity was sothing the Scoia’tael could not accept.

Bi Fang’s livestream was known for its imrsive experience. The greatest characteristic of live broadcasting is the uncertainty of the future; no one knows what will happen next.

Maybe you’re enjoying hot pot and singing, then suddenly you’re... well, there won’t be any bandits in the deserted wilderness, and if there were, they’d starve to death and couldn’t rob anyone, but accidents would certainly not be few.

So whenever they watched Bi Fang’s livestream, whether it was a deep forest, a barren desert, or the vast snowy plains he was on now, the sense of insecurity about the environnt always lingered around the audience.

Bi Fang himself was very brave and skilled. He used to share the sa apprehensions, but after many experiences, he no longer found it as frightening. However, the audience found it thrilling, hence any change in the environnt was particularly sensitive to them.

They finally understood why Scott had given up his sled dogs and opted to bring ponies instead—there was no other reason; they just ate too much. And most crucially, they didn’t graze!

All the supplies Bi Fang had prepared before departure were gone, and along the way, he could only gather so lichens left over from the musk oxen.

Anyone who has raised a dog knows that the appetite of a large dog is much greater than that of a human, even though they may weigh less than a person, they still eat more.

"This is mainly because dogs have a faster tabolism than humans. Canines have body temperatures around thirty-eight or even thirty-nine degrees Celsius. Just maintaining this temperature requires a lot of food. Moreover, a dog’s stomach is different from that of other animals, it has strong digestive capabilities, which is another main reason why they eat so much."

Bi Fang patted Fugui on the head.

This Alaskan’s fur was extrely lush, making it feel great to the touch. Its eyes slightly squinted, it rubbed Bi Fang’s palm and licked it with its tongue.

At first, Fugui and Wangcai were quite scared of the huge creatures on the snowfield, but after half a day of adaptation, they grew accustod to following this herd of fierce beasts.

[Too small-minded, you’re thinking too small. You think Master Fang is making a losing deal, but in fact, he has gained three reserve sources of food.]

[Hiss, so that’s the case.]

[Is Master Fang out of food now?]

Bi Fang leaned against a snowdrift, took out his dagger, and dug up the lichen on the ground.

The place they were in was precisely where the musk oxen had just fed. Bi Fang picked so intact ones and simply boiled them before considering it his dinner for the day.

These half-eaten lichens and moss could serve as food, but obviously, the calories they provided were pitifully low. The only advantage was probably the convenience of collection, sparing Bi Fang the trouble of digging through snow layers in search of his own.

The herd’s walking pace was outrageously slow; they moved so little that Bi Fang wondered if they had covered five kiloters all afternoon, walking a bit, feeding a bit, then sleeping a bit, which even made him sowhat lax.

Seeing Bi Fang eating, Goudan imdiately perked up and squeezed in front of him, pushing away Bi Fang’s arm. But after slling for a while and realizing it was just weeds, it barked discontentedly and ended up being hit on the head twice with a tree stick by Bi Fang.

Erha, having been reprimanded, ran to one side and buried its head in the snow in a sulk.

After waiting until dark and "wasting" a day, Bi Fang finally saw the opportunity he had been waiting for.

Bang!

The loud impact echoed and reverberated across the vast snowy plain, abruptly awakening Bi Fang, who instinctively rolled to the side and grasped the spear behind him, but after scanning the area, he noticed nothing unusual.

The sound of the collision ca again, and this ti Bi Fang heard it more clearly; it was like two enormous rocks smashing into each other, producing a dull yet powerful noise.

[Damn, they’ve started fighting!]

[There are two musk oxen fighting.]

[Shit, they’ve left the group. Isn’t this a good opportunity?]

[Old Fang, go for it! The chance for a lavish al is today!]

The audience, who had the perspective of an unmanned drone, could undoubtedly see the situation much clearer.

Sensing the content of the ssages, Bi Fang used his hands and feet to slowly climb up the snowbank, his view transitioning from pure white to half black and half white.

Luckily, there were Northern Lights in the sky today.

In the darkness, the reflected light from the snow-covered ground brought unexpected brightness and caused the sky to display distinct layers of rose pink and light blue, sparingly dotted with golden evening stars.

Before arriving in Greenland, many viewers had longed to see the Northern Lights, but after finding out that they appeared here every other day, their enthusiasm waned slightly; still, a night scene as beautiful as today’s was rare.

Pleased with this, the drone didn’t even need to activate night mode, offering a very clear view.

The two musk oxen clashing against each other were obviously males.

"Although both female and male musk oxen have horns, there is a difference. The horns of musk oxen are bulbous at the base, but it’s particularly pronounced in males, almost covering the entire head, and overall, they are thicker and stronger than those of the females."

At this mont, Bi Fang was very close to the herd of musk oxen, rely fifty ters away, hidden behind a snowbank and pointing at the fighting musk oxen.

Though both female and male musk oxen, like reindeer, have antlers, males in musk oxen differ even more, being typically a quarter larger in size and weight than females.

The two musk oxen in the fight, compared to those in the nearby herd, were also larger, and Bi Fang suspected their weight neared four hundred kilograms.

[Four hundred kilograms, holy crap, that’s eight tis my weight.]

[Why are so females bigger and so males bigger?]

"Well, that’s a bit complicated to explain, but all questions about living organisms can be traced back to evolution, and in the end, you’ll find that production capacity determines production relationships."

"There are three common physical dinsions between males and females in the animal kingdom: one where they are the sa size, one where the female is larger, and one where the female is smaller and the male is larger, and the fundantal reason has to do with the environnt and competition."

"As species competitiveness continues to rise, the male evolves from a simple ’seed provider’ to a ’selective seed provider.’ In this transformation, size increasingly becos an advantage."

"The explanation is a bit complex, and I’ll talk more about it later. They are close to deciding a victor, and once that’s done, we can make our move."
