The ssage was sent, but there was still no response from Stella Grant.
Silas Sutton knew Stella Grant wouldn’t be asleep at this hour. He looked down at his phone with a slight smirk and continued typing: The Sutton Family’s kidnapping case from years ago has uncovered sothing related to your uncle, Zeke Adler. Don’t you want to hear about it?
Stella Grant indeed wasn’t asleep at this ti.
She had just co out of the bathroom, having taken a shower, when she received Silas Sutton’s ssage.
Seeing the ssage from Silas Sutton, Stella paused her hand that was toweling her hair.
Zeke Adler related to the kidnapping case from years ago with the Sutton Family?
Stella pursed her lips, recalling Zeke’s situation from the past few years, trying to find so clues.
Unfortunately, after thinking for a long ti, she found nothing.
Just as Stella was about to give up, she suddenly rembered sothing.
A few years ago, Zeke Adler did indeed experience sothing out of the ordinary.
That year, Zeke made an outstanding effort and bought a Passat with his own work.
This might be quite normal for others, but for Zeke, it was like finding greenery in the desert.
Not quite a spectacle, but close enough.
While Stella was lost in her chaotic thoughts, suddenly her phone rang.
She snapped back to reality and, seeing it was a video call from Sue Woods, swiped her finger across the screen to answer.
As soon as the video connected, a face with disheveled hair and a red hue suddenly appeared.
Yes, the face was red.
If the person hadn’t started speaking the mont the video connected, Stella would likely have thought it was so supernatural event in the middle of the night.
Sue Woods didn’t notice Stella’s bewildernt, muttering to herself, "How is Auntie?"
Stella, "..."
Sue continued, "I bought so supplents for Auntie. They should arrive around noon tomorrow. I’ve sent them directly to the hospital; rember to pick them up."
Stella, "..."
Sue’s chatter was incessant, "How long are you planning to stay in Brynnfield? If you’re staying long, I’ll fly over the day after tomorrow to see Auntie."
After Sue’s long rambling, seeing Stella wasn’t responding, she leaned closer to the screen, "Why aren’t you saying anything?"
Stella remained silent and still, with no expression on her face.
Sue blinked her eyes, "Frozen?"
Just as Sue finished speaking, she reached for the phone on the coffee table. Her fingers barely touched the edge when Stella suddenly spoke, "Do you have so grudge against society? Planning to take revenge on society?"
Sue was so startled by the comnt that her hand shook, nearly knocking the phone off the stand.
Sue, "It’s not frozen? If it’s not frozen, why weren’t you talking?"
Stella couldn’t help but laugh, "I didn’t dare say anything, afraid of being haunted by a ghost."
Hearing Stella’s words, Sue was montarily stunned. Once she realized what Stella ant, she burst out laughing while peeling the red face mask off her face, "This is imported volcanic mud mask. What do you know?"
Stella smirked, "I’ve seen plenty of volcanic mud masks, but it’s the first ti I’ve seen one with such bright color like yours."
Sue replied earnestly, "Those are all fake."
Stella, "You got them tested?"
Sue, "Think about it, what color is a volcano? Isn’t it red? But a lot of brands sell black volcanic masks. I’m telling you..."
Sue had just said, "I’m telling you," when her eyes suddenly widened.
Imdiately after, Sue cursed and ended the call.
Stella hadn’t yet figured out what was happening when she received a WeChat ssage from Sue: Ben Lawson, that maniac, is asking to go to Southcross Road to buy fried chicken for him in the middle of the night.
Southcross Road was two hours away from Sue’s apartnt.
Ti wasn’t the issue; the issue was that at this ti, even if Sue drove, it would be early morning before she got there.
Stella’s mouth twitched slightly: Does he often do this?
Sue: He’s a total maniac; I’m telling you, a purebred maniac.
Before Stella could reply to this ssage, Sue sent another: Stella, I’m not trying to be suspicious, but I seriously doubt Ben Lawson is your benefactor. With his character, forget helping others; if he’s not the last straw that breaks soone’s back, that’s only because he hasn’t completely lost his conscience.
Looking at the second ssage from Sue, Stella pursed her lips. Just as she was about to respond with a voice ssage, she was interrupted by a knock on the door.
Stella froze for a few seconds before stepping forward to open the door.
Lynn Adler’s door was an old style, without a peephole; you could only see who was outside by opening it.
Stella turned the lock and opened the door, and upon seeing the person outside, her lips ford a slight line.
Silas Sutton stood there with a suit jacket draped over his arm, one side of his shirt tucked into his slacks, the other hanging loose, giving off an air of casual ease, "Manager Grant, is it okay if I stay over?"
