So people, when not seen, are missed.

Once t, only endless hatred remains.

Stella Grant stared blankly at the person in front of her, her hand hanging by her side unconsciously clenched, fingers digging hard into her palm.

Just as Stella Grant felt the air around her freeze, the door of the ward opposite opened, and Hugh York strode out.

Seeing Stella Grant, Hugh York was stunned for a second, then spoke, "Grant, what are you doing here?"

Stella Grant snapped back to reality, took a deep breath, and responded, "President York."

Stella Grant’s voice was very soft, quite negligible amidst the noisy corridors of the hospital.

Yet the middle-aged man who just pushed a cart past her seed extrely sensitive to her voice, staggering almost to the point of falling.

The middle-aged woman beside quickly reached out to support him, "Take it easy."

Being supported, the man steadied himself, held his breath, looked back at Stella Grant’s profile, and hurriedly fled.

Stella Grant caught the man’s actions out of the corner of her eye, her already clenched hand tightening even more.

Hugh York almost imdiately understood Stella Grant’s intention without much reaction.

He looked at Stella Grant, not angry but amused, "You clever girl, you’ve got so tricks."

He then nodded toward Stella Grant, "Let’s go, talk outside."

A few minutes later, Stella Grant was in Hugh York’s car.

Hugh York took the bottled water from the holder, opened it, drank a few sips, and asked Stella Grant bluntly, "Ca here to catch in the act? Trying to get dirt on to force my hand, make sell the project cheaply to your Sutton Group?"

When dealing with smart people, it’s best not to play petty tricks.

Since she’d been exposed, Stella Grant didn’t lie, first apologizing, then said, "I have to mind my own position, forced by circumstances."

Hugh York sneered lightly, "Hope to gain my forgiveness?"

Stella Grant replied confidently, "I wouldn’t dare."

Hugh York, "If you don’t want my forgiveness, then why apologize?"

Stella Grant awkwardly laughed and said, "I apologize because I was indeed wrong, I shouldn’t have pried into your privacy."

Hugh York raised an eyebrow, "If given another choice, would you still do it?"

Stella Grant answered honestly, "Yes, I’ve no choice, it’s survival."

One must have a kind heart but also a firm hand.

Kindness is the baseline, but kindness doesn’t put food on the table.

After Stella Grant finished speaking, Hugh York stared at her with a serious expression for a while before suddenly laughing, "I indeed didn’t misjudge you; you’re quite interesting."

Stella Grant, "..."

Seeing Stella Grant not speaking, Hugh York leaned back and looked at her sideways, "Co on, tell , what do you plan to do once you catch my dirt?"

While Hugh York spoke, Stella Grant was continuously observing his mood.

Confirming he showed no signs of anger, Stella Grant paused and spoke truthfully, "I brought the acquisition proposal, hoping you would give a chance to take a closer look at it."

Hugh York was skeptical, "Just that?"

Stella Grant calmly said, "Just that, the competition for your project is too fierce. I’m confident in my acquisition proposal but need a ’reason’ from you to view differently."

Hugh York, "Didn’t plan to threaten with anything else? Force to sign this acquisition proposal directly?"

Stella Grant, "Business is about fairness. I resorted to this out of desperation. To be honest, I just joined Sutton Group and desperately need a project to establish myself."

Hugh York laughed, "Then shouldn’t you push to sign this acquisition proposal even more?"

Stella Grant said, "A cornered rabbit will bite. I hope you can ’view differently,’ like giving one more chance when you give others one. At the end of the day, I’m here to ask for your help. This ’asking’ is genuine, not digging my grave."

She didn’t believe that as a re project manager, she could shake Hugh York, a big shot.

After hearing Stella Grant’s words, Hugh York’s appreciation for her increased.

After a while, Hugh York asked Stella Grant, "What’s your take on having a mistress and a child outside?"

Stella Grant didn’t expect Hugh York to ask that and was montarily taken aback.

After recovering, she calmly replied, "I don’t understand, don’t respect, but would keep quiet."

Having said that, Hugh York chuckled, took out his phone, and made a call.

Once the call connected, Hugh York joked, "President Sutton, where on earth did you dig up such a gem?"

The next second, Silas Sutton’s deep, amused voice ca from the other end of the line, "Listening to President York, does this an you’ve compromised?"
