"You are right, I don’t. I only care about my family. I will do anything to keep them safe. But Africa, being in its current state, puts them at risk. And I cannot wait until soone from the continent gets Africa’s shit together to do sothing about it. So here I am."

Those were the words I said to Pierre before. While the objectives we had slowly morphed, there were only a few things that mattered to . The first was to return the favor to Amari. I have already finished with that.

The second was to save Zanele and her husband for Robyn. Technically, I could already do that and leave. But as I learned more about what was going on, that thought had changed. To help Zanele, I had to cut away the disease plaguing the continent.

For so fucking reason, despite being here for hundreds of years, Hannibal Mandela did nothing to fix the situation. As I didn’t really know how hard it was to be a Revenant, I couldn’t comnt. But cleansing him and then leaving was not enough.

I had no idea how bad the situation was, but it started with Onye. He was the royal chief who colluded with the won in Hannibal’s harem to divide the continent. Originally, I planned to leave after just killing him, but as I learned more, that changed again.

It was like a rabbit hole that got deeper and deeper. When Zanele shared the nature of malice, the "true" history of the world and the Successors, my priorities all changed. If I truly wanted to keep my family safe, I had to strengthen all seven battlefronts.

By leaving a gap in Earth’s defenses, the world slowly walked to destruction. I didn’t know how long it would take until the snake bastard woke up, but I had no ti to waste. Thus, for this reason, I now had to think about what happens after I leave.

And out of all the outcos, the one I chose was to wipe out all opposition and create a new faction. The one to lead it had yet to be chosen, but I figured Amari would take it. He was a filial son and wished to protect his mother from the burdens of position.

But regardless of who led my force in Africa, its goal was quite simple. It had to strengthen its Reapers and begin assaulting Hellsgate for real.

’Of course, even that would have so issues. For one, unless soone corrects Asia’s asinine tactics, Africa still needs to protect its flank. But once that changes, we would strengthen our Earth’s position as a whole.’

It was sothing I learned from Exa’s analysis of the situation. Even if I wiped out all the undead from North Arica, it didn’t matter. So long as South Arica and Africa still got invaded, we would too.

The current situation reminded of a tower defense ga. No matter how much we protected our side of the floor, we needed everyone else too. It was not possible to win this war alone; all the battlefronts had to get their shit together in order to win.

When I realized I had to fix the situation of every battlefront, I felt exhausted. With Revenant’s being complete dicks, I had my work cut out for . As I learned more about their abilities and strength, I knew it was not going to be an easy task.

But just because it was hard, didn’t an I could give up. For the world I wanted, I was willing to do anything. That was the bottom line.

This particular line of thinking was what caught my interest in Pierre’s reasoning.

"Because you ca here for your family," the Mauritian said confidently.

"Tell more," I replied.

"I understand, my lord. But this would be better spoken in private."

[My lord, although, as we already have [Cipher], there are no issues with security, there is a private room available. It is at the end of this space; you may discuss there.]

’{Day by Day}. Got it. If it were anyone but Pierre, I would probably ignore them. But this bastard is soone Blanche sent to . Considering how that woman operated, there should be sothing special about him.’

[That is a reasonable assumption. A little caution would be advisable when dealing with IRIS. Or more specifically, the Astrologer.]

"Nandi, Zinhle, catch!"

As I unsummoned my avatars, I turned on the safety of my guns of Sunday. I then lobbed them to Nandi and Zinhle. Surprised at my actions, the two frantically tried to grab the guns. Both breathe a sigh of relief when they managed to catch the guns.

"Take over for ; just shoot them all in the head. Exa will do the rest."

"Yes, Successor!" x2

Jo, who noticed we walk away, said nothing but gave a thumbs-up. I then gestured to Pierre and Zanele.

"Let’s talk over there."

Zanele tilted her head while asking, "Should I be allowed to listen to this, Successor?"

I nodded in response, "Yeah, you’re spying on for Robyn, right? Better just bring you along; besides, the matter relates to you."

The matriarch bowed her head in sha at my reply. Although I knew her loyalties lay with Robyn, I didn’t hide the barb in my words. Regardless of why she acted that way, I had to let her know I wasn’t happy about it.

"I apologize, Successor. You know how devoted your harem is to your safety. Anyone affiliated with a Siren squad would have the sa behavior."

I didn’t bother to answer and just walked toward a door located at the theater’s edge. When I opened it, I saw a separate room. The three of us entered. As everyone else was busy, I didn’t call for the others and just pulled out a simple table with a few stools.

"Alright, talk. Why do you think I should keep the royalty alive?"

Pierre nodded before he began to speak. His current air was that of an intellectual. It was completely unlike how he seed during the fall of Kismayo.

"My lord, I will try to keep it short. You should keep the princes alive for three reasons. First, it will help stabilize Africa. Second, it will avoid complications with His Majesty the Immortal. And finally, it will reassure the world and protect you."

"Explain," I grunted as I crossed my arms.

"My lord, if you kill the princes, you will need new leaders. Frankly, apart from the Immortal’s won, only Specters have pedigrees enough to beco local lords."

"And I should give a crap why?"

"You need the Specters more than the princes. If the princes survive, the Specters can continue to remain warriors, but with them gone, they will be forced to beco governors. And a lot of the Specters are not even descendants; it will lead to civil war."

"Again, I fail to see why I should care. I already planned to make them fight a civil war, didn’t I? These word gas are troubleso, Pierre. Stop wasting my ti, or I’ll shoot you."

"I am aware, my lord, you already shot before. Nurous tis, I might add. To put it simply, if Africa is led into a civil war, she cannot fight on Hellsgate. The resources of the Reapers will help Africa back on her feet. If you kill them all, it doubles the work."

It was true. Civil war had a massive cost, both to Reapers and humans. This was sothing I also considered. But it was the only thing we could think of to stop the Specter princes from interfering.

"Then how do you propose we stop the Specter Princes? There are already nine in the city of the dead. If we cannot keep them busy, they will move to help. Besides, these bastards are not even Hannibal’s true children; wouldn’t killing them be better?"

Knowing that most princes might not be Hannibal’s children made it easier to decide to kill them all. Most fathers, myself included, would not forgive those who hard their children. But not many would care about soone else’s.
