While the rest of his minions unleashed terror on the treant dungeon, Ethan calmly watched the scene and summoned his current test subjects, his slis. This past week, he had continued to use Arcane Synthesis on seven of his slis, and surprisingly it had been a success on all seven tis, though on varying degrees.

The first to wiggle forward was Blaze, the fire sli. Its surface shimred like molten lava, heat radiating off its form in visible waves. It left behind scorched grass wherever it moved, and flickers of ember occasionally burst from its core. It was a fire bullet specialist.

Azure was the water bullet specialist, one of his first mutants.

Then there was Green, the healing sli.

Other than these three, the rest of the slis were pretty much similar. They all failed to awaken any special skills. Instead, they gained the ability to digest stuff faster. This did not help with anything as they didn't expel anything after eating things. They just simply ate faster. Ethan nad them Eater 1, 2, 3, and 4.

There were still 13 more slis left in his army, but he now felt like trying this skill on sothing different for a change.

Ethan sat down on a mossy stump, watching the treants get overwheld in the distance while his more eccentric creations wobbled and bounced beside him.

Blaze belched a small puff of fla at a passing insect, and Azure lazily squirted water into the air like it was enjoying a sunny beach day. Green glowed faintly, its body pulsating with a slow rhythm as if humming to itself.

The four "Eaters" flopped around nearby, attempting to munch on random roots and pebbles like mindless toddlers with an oral fixation. Despite their unimpressive ability, Ethan had hopes for them. Perhaps in the future, they might evolve into sothing interesting.

But for now, his curiosity was shifting. What if he applied the skill to sothing more… complex?

His mind drifted toward potential targets when he finally landed on his wolves. He wanted to try the skill on his wolf, and this ti, he wanted to try sothing different. He wanted to use Arcane Synthesis twice on the sa wolf.

Slis were low-complexity creatures, amorphous and adaptive. The wolves, on the other hand, were structured, efficient, and already well-optimized for combat. If he could push one beyond its limits with a double synthesis... the result could be terrifying in the best possible way.

Ethan's lips curled into a faint smirk as he considered the idea. He was very interested to see the results.

He turned toward the pack, whistling sharply. A lean, dark-furred wolf trotted toward him—one of his faster and more cunning beasts. Ethan knelt, eting the beast's glowing eyes. "You ready to beco sothing more?"

The wolf let out a low growl—not one of threat, but recognition. Ethan placed his hand gently on its head, focusing his mana as he activated Arcane Synthesis.

A surge of energy rippled through the wolf. Its body convulsed slightly, glowing lines of arcane script etching across its fur before vanishing into a blinding light.

The mutation and evolution then began—a subtle thickening of its limbs, claws lengthening just a little, eyes becoming sharper and brighter. Ethan could feel it. The beast was brimming with increased agility. Did it awaken so sort of wind affinity?

His question was answered when a system prompt flashed in front of him.

[Ding! Arcane Synthesis successful.]

[Ding! Mutation Successful.]

[Forest Wolf has mutated into Wind Wolf (Uncommon Variant)]

[Abilities gained: Passive wind affinity enhances speed and agility. Can execute short-range burst dashes with wind displacent.]

Ethan read the system prompt with a flicker of satisfaction in his eyes. The mutated wolf—now a Wind Wolf—shook its fur, which shimred with pale streaks of silver that hadn't been there before.

The beast dashed forward without warning, vanishing in a blur, only to reappear a few ters away in less than a second. Leaves spiraled upward in its wake, caught in the sudden gust it left behind. Even Shadow blinked in surprise and gave a low, impressed mrrrrow.

"Definitely faster," Ethan muttered, watching as the Wind Wolf zigzagged through the trees, every motion fluid and ghostlike. He made a ntal note to test its limits later—its endurance, agility in combat, and whether the wind affinity had any ranged applications.

Maybe with the second mutation and evolution, it could acquire new skills. Or maybe with just simple level up, it would be able to learn new skills. For now, though, he'd hit his synthesis limit for the day. He would have to wait and see the results tomorrow.

He reached out, petting the wolf's sleek head as it returned to him, its eyes shining with sothing that resembled pride. "We'll call you Gale," Ethan said. "You're going to be fun to train."

Ethan had half a mind to use Convergence with Gale but he was also very close to learning sothing from the water sli. He did not want to lose this feeling and went along with his intuition to stick to the water bullet, despite the new target being a lot more tempting.

A few minutes of back and forth later, he ended up activating Convergence with Azure and practised his Water Bullet technique for the next half an hour. In the an ti his minions wreaked havoc on the dungeon and completely cleared every last one of the treants.

Now only the last two unconscious treants were left. After practising for a while and confirming that he was not breaking any fucking records, Ethan decided to end the dungeon run finally. He was just about to order his wolves to finish off the last two treants when suddenly he thought of an idea.

What if he simply exited the dungeon with the two treants still roaming around? Will the dungeon still reset?

He dismissed his minions, stepped out and stepped back in. He was correct. The dungeon was still just as he left without anything disturbed. Even all the loot was right there for him to claim.
