Chapter 177: Expelling the Heavens
.
The appearance of the man brought a visible change to everything.
From the woman dressed in blue, who had welcod him, to the creature that recognized at a glance who it was, its expressions beca only more furious and enraged, yet tinged with a mix of extre fear and trembling.
The entire environnt seed to shift as if to welco him; the heavens, already agitated for so ti, beca even more frenzied.
The clouds grew turbulent, and soon above the area where the three stood, a gigantic vortex began to form among the dark spiraling clouds, its depths dark yet starting to emit an intense golden glow.
In the next mont, a massive pillar of light was hurled from above toward the ground, long and thick, engulfing the three figures present, but despite the dangerous situation, none of the three showed any signs of distress.
The creature, though cautious about the event, did not seem too worried, while the man resembling Zhu Rong watched the scene with a serene expression, as if witnessing not the wrath of the heavens, but an entertaining spectacle.
The sa applied to the woman, who watched the pillar of light descend like a mighty torrent and made a simple gesture with her hand, releasing small yellow sparks that flew towards the man.
It reached the forest in no ti, or more precisely what remains of it, and it hit it, the earth trembled once more.
The pillar persisted for several seconds before finally fading and vanishing, leaving a deep yet perfectly shaped giant hole in the ground, how deep, no one could tell.
Yet as for the three figures above, none of them seed to bear wounds, not even scratches or traces indicating that they had just been struck by the heavens’ punishnt.
"Tch, I’ve barely just returned, and you’ve already tried to eliminate .
You never disappoint. A sha your own laws restrain you, though it wouldn’t make much difference even if they didn’t," said the man resembling Zhu Rong, addressing to the sky itself, which, feeling his provocation, flared in anger, preparing even more destructive attacks, this ti, they carried far greater power, evident from the overwhelming pressure radiating even before their descent.
The man watched the sky before ignoring it and turning his attention to the creature, which had protected itself by enveloping its body in a strange, transparent reddish veil.
Its posture clearly indicated that it had no intention of worrying about them, and this was an automatic signal for the woman behind him to take care of them.
Without being told, she rose higher and moved her hands through the air.
At first glance, nothing could be seen, but on closer inspection, invisible thin threads moved at the contact of the woman, and the mont they did, the sky began to lose its ferocity. Within a couple of seconds, the approaching storm of attacks disappeared into nothingness, causing the clouds to withdraw from the sky.
For those who didn’t know what had happened, it might have seed as if she had sohow forced the heavens to retreat, but for those who knew her, it was clear that she had directly expelled the influence of the heavens from this secret realm, preventing it from affecting anything in any way.
It goes without saying that this was a true affront to the heavens, which erupted in fury outside the secret realm, but with everyone already gone, there was no one left to witness their wrath.
The various faction groups had withdrawn so ti ago, and this was because as soon as everyone had been expelled, shortly after, the vortex that served as the entrance to the secret realm dissolved before the incredulous eyes of all.
Usually, the entrance to a secret realm would only disappear if it could no longer sustain itself and collapsed, resulting in a massive explosion whose intensity varied according to the realm’s grade, or because the secret realm had been closed from within.
The first option scared many to death, but since they saw no anomalies or signs that it might explode, they cald down and breathed a sigh of relief.
This left only the latter, which was even harder to believe, since the secret realm could only be closed by its creator.
Sealing it was one thing, and anyone could do that as long as he had the knowledge and the necessary ans, but making its entrance completely vanish was not sothing anyone could do, especially without control over it.
It goes without saying that this sent everyone’s minds into a frenzy over the implications of what had happened, especially when considering the situation of those expelled. Everyone realized that sothing was seriously wrong inside the secret realm.
The groups retreated while the various faction leaders decided to hold an ergency eting to assess the situation and discuss anomalies related to the secret realm.
They hoped that that woman who had gone inside the secret realm might erge and answer their questions, but knowing her, she had most likely already left for who knows where.
Thus, the area was cleared, and when the fury of the heavens struck there, the only thing it did was cause so panic in the surrounding territories.
Inside the secret realm, however, the man with the appearance of Zhu Rong examined the creature and imdiately determined that it was weakened.
It was clear that part of its power had eroded over the millennia it had been trapped here.
It was still a being that could have caused chaos and destruction if released, but compared to when it was in its pri, such a level of destruction was nothing.
He had been the one to trap it and had ensured that the place remained hidden for far longer than had passed, but it was clear that sothing had gone wrong. The creature had managed to take possession of the secret realm to so extent, even drawing the attention of outsiders to help it free itself and escape from here.
If it hadn’t been for an event that occurred at that ti, he would have killed it directly instead of bothering to trap it here, but there was no point in crying over spilled milk.
"Well,it’s been a long ti since I fought seriously. Without my full powers, this fight should be interesting,
if I had them, it’d end in a blink, and that would be no fun at all," he said, stretching slightly before turning to the creature with a challenging gaze.
Imdiately, a crimson black aura began to emanate from him, and it was imdiately noticeable that his cultivation base was at the Body Tempering stage, basically at the start of the mortal realm.
With the destruction of Zhu Rong’s body, his cultivation had also been lost, so when he rebuilt it, he returned directly to the first stage.
Though he appeared ordinary, his aura surpassed that of every cultivator in the mortal realm, regardless of whether they were just beginning or at the peak of it.
He had practically rewritten Zhu Rong’s already solid foundations, raising them to an even higher limit that only a few beings could ever imagine reaching, beings who did not even belong to this plane of existence.
’And to think you left such a good thing unused... don’t worry, I’ll put it to good use’ the man thought ntally as his newly reford dantian was filled with a strange red mist.
He hadn’t been able to fully preserve the dantian, but he managed to save sothing, and that was the red mist, which had a very high concentration of pure spiritual Qi.
Zhu Rong had constantly refined it to elevate his elental cores, and although the process took ti, the amount of Qi provided compensated for it.
Even then, he had only used a fraction of it, leaving much behind ready to be used.
When the man noticed this, he recognized what it was and managed to save it from being dispersed into the environnt, which would have caused more complications.
He smiled as the intensity in his eyes grew ever stronger. Soon, they changed color, shifting from deep black to bright red.
Consequently, the red mist seed to sense the man’s control; instead of remaining there inert, ready to be refined, it seed to co alive and react actively. A powerful vortex ford in it, and soon a dark crimson core was consolidated.
It was very different from any elental core Zhu Rong had ever created because it did not resemble any previous one, it was sothing completely different.
It was strange but powerful, far more than a newly ford core should be.
Examining its power, one would find that it was already at the fifth stage, but as if that weren’t enough, the process did not stop there.
The presence of the core, now at the center of the vortex, began to swallow the red mist like a black hole, and soon perceptible changes occurred within it.
