1191: Chapter 1191: Asking the Master into the Urn (Long Chapter for Monthly Votes) 1191: Chapter 1191: Asking the Master into the Urn (Long Chapter for Monthly Votes) Minte City·Northern District

Weiken sat at the table, staring at the communication device before him, his expression grim.

“What’s wrong?”

The man in the red robe beside him raised his head, looking over.

“Has sothing happened?”

“Those bastards on the city wall, insatiably greedy.

They’re deliberately provoking ,”

Weiken gritted his teeth slightly and pressed his hand against the communication device, speaking with restrained anger.

“As we approach opening the gate, they raise their price again.”

“Don’t worry about it,”

The red-robed man smiled, looking at Weiken.

“Once you’ve taken full control of this city, won’t you be able to do whatever you want?

For now, endure it for a while.

One day, you’ll make them pay for what they’ve done today.”

“You’re right,”

Weiken’s gaze darkened slightly.

He glanced at the red-robed man, lifted his hand, and continued typing rapidly into the communication device.

“He still has value for now.

Let him live a little longer.

The only way for him to gain anything from will be to repay it with his life.”

The red-robed man watched Weiken’s slightly flushed, aging face, listening to his voice seething with suppressed anger.

He smiled even wider at the corners of his lips.

“Exactly, leave these greedy fools with a sliver of life for now.”

He chuckled while speaking, but then his movents paused abruptly, as he lowered his head to look at the wristband on his arm.

“Sothing’s up?”

This ti, it was Weiken’s turn to look puzzled.

“Those watchdogs at the City Police Bureau have placed hidden sentries at key points across the city.

If they spot anyone resembling one of ours, they’ll imdiately mobilize for interrogation,”

The man in the red robe stared coldly at his wristband and said, “These sentries have made our original ‘slaughter plan’ much harder to execute.”

He paused briefly, sneering.

“It seems the Minte City Police Bureau has so real talent.”

“The City Defense Army troops dispatched to quell the unrest should be arriving soon,”

Weiken looked at the red-robed man and spoke softly.

“Your ‘cult mbers’—if they’re stopped by those hidden sentries, won’t they lose their effectiveness and end up being slaughtered by the City Defense Army?

Can you even hold off the army anymore?”

“That’s not your concern,”

The man in the red robe replied coldly, raising his hand.

“We have hidden believers that’s far more than what you’ve seen.

I’ve already sent out the summoning order—they’ll be eager to join us for the sake of eternal chaos.”

He looked at Weiken.

“Rest assured about the matters inside the city.

Just make sure the rcenary corps from outside enters quickly.

Everything inside will naturally sort itself out.”

“The outside forces are almost ready as well.

I’ve already agreed to their demands.”

Weiken rasped with amusent.

“Soon, you’ll see armored vehicles speeding down the streets.”

“That’s good news, then.”

The red-robed man smiled again, lifted his wristband, turned away from Weiken, and looked out the window.

Outside, the figure who had earlier recklessly opened fire was now being dragged into a police vehicle by officers who had arrived on the scene.

“This city will soon be completely ‘pacified,'”

he remarked naturally.

“Hmm.”

Weiken nodded softly, his gaze fixed on the communication device before him.

All that talk of extortion and sudden price hikes—he had made it up.

The communication device had received no ssages at all.

Since he had inford the rcenary corps outside the city that “everything is ready,” the device hadn’t been activated, nor had it received any additional news.

He had no idea where the rcenary corps was now or what had transpired in West City.

Everything he had just said was designed purely to appease the red-robed man, making him believe that everything was proceeding “smoothly.”

Weiken turned his head slightly, gazing through another side window at the towering city walls nearby.

West Gate of Minte City wasn’t located in the Western District but in the Northern District, quite close to their current position.

This made it convenient for Weiken to send ssages using communication equipnt, minimizing data loss, and also allowed him to monitor the situation at the West Gate.

At that mont, the West Gate was eerily silent, far removed from the faint commotion of “gunfire” in the north—it was like a pocket of deathly stillness.

Retracting his gaze and turning back again, Weiken stole a glance at the red-robed man behind him.

His eyes narrowed slightly.

He knew full well that the red-robed man had also been “lying” to him just monts ago.

The Church of Chaos didn’t have nearly as many people or as much strength as they boasted.

Clearly, matters had begun spiraling out of their control.

‘Police, how are there so many police?

Does the City Police Bureau even have this many officers?’

The red-robed man seed oblivious to the fleeting look behind him, his attention entirely focused on the wristband, reading one ssage after another about “captured cult mbers.”

His face was flushed with fury, but he suppressed it, angling his body slightly to keep Weiken from noticing his anger.

anwhile, behind him, Weiken had already withdrawn his gaze.

Slowly reaching out a hand, he tapped against his chest.

Then he pressed harder, as though trying to sense sothing through his skin and flesh.

After a brief mont of pressing, he eased his hand down and touched the wooden box in his pocket.

“Everything’s set,”

The red-robed man suddenly turned around, his expression soft and approachable.

He looked at Weiken and smiled.

“A minor inconvenience—the dispatched City Defense Army won’t affect us.”

“Alright,”

Weiken also looked at his “ally” and laughed heartily.

“Clearly, the dawn of our new world is upon us.”

“New world—I like the sound of that.”

The red-robed man pulled out a bottle of wine and two glasses from under the table.

He poured the wine into the two glasses and smiled at Weiken.

“Take your pick.”

Weiken raised his hand and imdiately took the glass on the right.

He brought the rim to his nose and inhaled lightly.

“Good wine!”

“This is wine we brewed ourselves,”

The red-robed man smiled.

“Rich and fragrant—we don’t usually share it.

But, of course, Mr.

Weiken, you’re an exception.”

He lifted his glass.

“To the new world.”

“To the new world.”

Weiken lifted his glass, echoing the sentint with a laugh.

His gaze dropped briefly, scanning over all the believers of the Church of Chaos standing inside the room.
