Aurora’s words choked in her mouth, as she couldn’t help but beco emotional. Maybe it was because of so many things she had witnessed in just a few hours or maybe she was simply touched by how Max was willingly sacrificing himself for her.
"Don’t make that face," Max scoffed lightly. "I’m harder to kill than you think, so leave now; otherwise we both will die and coming here would be in complete vain."
He smiled weakly and sighed, "I’ll be happy if even one of you survives. Now go, I’ll find a way to get out of this situation."
Aurora wanted to argue but realised that her pursuers were already very close to them. She bit her lips once again, as clarity flared in her mind.
She tore apart her top, wrapped it around Max’s face and said, "This will protect your identity so make sure you get out of this alive."
It was dark, so nobody had noticed their faces properly, but if they did recognise Max, he would have a harsh life ahead, sothing Aurora did not want.
After that, she quickly stuffed her Escape Talisman in his hand and stood up.

However, they were a bit late as a burst of light sparks surrounded Aurora before she vanished completely, leaving Max bleeding on the ground.
While she felt guilty, she also understood his words and her desire to survive was very strong. She didn’t want to die before she killed every last one of those people who had murdered her entire clan.

"Hmm, I haven’t taken any disciples yet, right?" The woman grinned and clicked her fingers as both of them disappeared along with Aurora’s wounded body.
On the other hand, the Soldiers of the Corelhelm clan were trembling in fear of their superior. It was an order directly from the King that they couldn’t let any escape and they had failed in doing such a simple job.
"Useless! You all couldn’t even handle a weak girl whose Cultivation was already abolished? Go and find her!" Their superior scolded them, as his voice grew louder in anger.
His head then snapped towards Max, who was still sitting there and watching everything with an amused gaze.
He had already accomplished his goal for coming here, so he was now free to do whatever he wanted.
