"But where is Li Xin? She didn't co with you," she inquired, seeing him alone.

He really wanted to learn it because jewel crafting is very different from what its na suggests.
The jewel crafter can create runes to engrave on the jewels.

Just like Emily has one to protect her.
Because of this, he wanted to learn it more as he can have more ways to protect them.
