Early the next morning, Veyne heard a loud knock on his door.
Takk takk!
It was so loud that Veyne jolted out of his dreamland.
He heard another knock and a shout from the other side.
Takk takk!
"Veyne... Veyne."
Veyne rubbed his eyes and asked, "What happened?"
Alex shouted from the other side, "Veyne, Senior Roonie has co to et you!"
Veyne grabbed his phone and checked the ti. It was still 8 in the morning. He yawned and said, "Tell him to wait. I’ll be out in a few minutes."
Alex stopped knocking and said, "Okay."
Veyne wasted no ti getting out of bed and rushed to the washroom.
In the next 15 minutes, he was out of his room carrying one suitcase and a backpack.
As he walked out, he saw the trio sitting awkwardly in front of Roonie, talking about college and the ga.
Behind Roonie, he saw both of his bodyguards standing.
Veyne greeted everyone, "Good morning, guys."
The three of his dorm mates mumbled, "Good morning."
Roonie nodded to him. "Good, you’re ready, right?"
Veyne nodded back. "Yup. Let’s go."
Roonie wasted no ti and stood up. As they were about to leave, Roonie turned to the three dorm mates and said, "Okay, guys, I’ll see you at the party tonight."
The three stood up and bowed in unison. "Thank you for the invitation, Senior."
Veyne controlled his urge to laugh and just waved at them. "I’ll send you the address to my new ho. Feel free to visit on weekends."
With that, both he and Roonie walked out of the dorm.
They quietly made their way to the black sedan parked outside the dorm building.
Veyne looked around, trying to see his new car.
One bodyguard noticed it and said, "Sir, your car is already parked inside your new ho garage."
Veyne nodded, kind of disappointed that he didn’t get to drive that thing, but not a big deal.
Not long after, the black sedan was already far away from the college.
The entire ride was uneventful, filled with so random talk, nothing important.
In less than half an hour, they reached their destination.
Veyne stepped out of the car, his mind full of thoughts.
Instead of thinking of this mansion as his ho, he took it more like his training ground.
The place where he would be able to hone himself.
Roonie took him inside, and there he saw a group of four bodyguards standing near the doors, along with a red-haired, poker-faced beauty standing in front of the entrance.
The mont they saw Roonie, all of them bowed.
Roonie waved to them. "No need for all the formalities. Get up."
At his instruction, all of them just stood straight, staring at him.
Roonie pointed to a middle-aged man, the oldest of the guards, and said, "Veyne, this is Casim. He’s a veteran mber of our group. From today onward, he’ll be responsible for your security."
Veyne extended his hand. "Good to et you, sir."
Casim glanced at Veyne for a mont, then shook his hand. "Pleasure is mine, sir."
Roonie pointed to the other bodyguards. "The other lads are all under Casim."
Veyne just nodded to all of them, one by one.
Not caring much, Roonie then pointed to the red-haired girl. "Veyne, et Bea. From now on, she’ll be your personal maid."
Unlike the others, Bea stared at Roonie a second longer before she bowed and greeted him. "Good to see you, sir."
He didn’t think much of it and just nodded his head, but the others’ reaction was far from normal.
Especially Roonie’s own guards, who had their mouths wide open.
One of them even said, "Wait, sir, she’s from that family? This will lead to a ss—"
Roonie just looked up, and that was enough to make the guard stop.
He then looked at Bea and Casim and said in a deep tone, "Let tell you all. I consider Veyne as my younger brother. Any disrespect to him will be disrespect to . I hope you etch this in your minds."
Veyne just stared from the side with interest.
He noticed that the mont Roonie said that, all the bodyguards, including Roonie’s own bodyguards, bowed down in unison. "Good to et you, sir."
It took him a mont to realize they were greeting him.
It was a big shift in deanor.
He raised his eyebrow and asked Roonie, "What’s going on?"
Roonie waved his hand. "Nothing much. Just that these guys have big egos, so I had to make sure they knew they’re not serving so random new lad."
Well, even though the sentence made sense, Veyne felt like it had so hidden aning, which, sadly, he didn’t understand.
He didn’t get to think much about it, as Roonie walked over to the luxury sofa and called him. "Veyne, I want to discuss sothing with you."
Veyne raised his eyebrow. He placed his luggage down on the floor and sat next to Roonie. "What happened?"
Roonie dropped the bomb on him. "Actually, I’m thinking about entering the ga."
Silence!
It took Veyne a couple of seconds to fully comprehend what Roonie had just said.
Then he looked around and saw all the guards and Bea standing just a few ters away from them.
He couldn’t help but ask, "Don’t you think we should talk sowhere quiet?"
Roonie waved his hand. "Nah, these people might have big egos, but I believe in them. They’re trustworthy."
Veyne raised his eyebrow, not sure if Roonie had blind trust in them or if there was sothing more behind it.
Well, whatever it might be, it wasn’t his place to poke, so he focused on the big news itself.
After so thought, he raised his eyebrow and asked, "What happened suddenly? Don’t tell my pep talk actually worked."
Roonie shrugged his shoulders. "Maybe it’s because of your pep talk."
Veyne rolled his eyes. "Dude, no need to butter up so much. Just ask what you want to know."
Roonie glanced at his guards and said, "Actually, I’ve been thinking about the upcoming stuff in the ga. For that, I’m considering bringing my bodyguards and maids into the ga. They are all professionally trained. They’d give a big boost to Kiyon’s strength."
Veyne raised his eyebrow. "What about the security, though?"
Roonie waved his hand. "I have too many guards around my mansion, anyway. I’m thinking of leaving the minimum number outside and taking all the extras into the ga."
Veyne just stared at Roonie.
He knew that even though Roonie was acting casual, sothing big must have happened behind the scenes for Roonie to shift so suddenly.
He glanced at Bea, Casim, and the others.
Just by how toned their bodies were, it was clear they had trained in so kind of martial arts.
Even in the worst-case scenario, their martial skills would make them more useful in the ga than the garbage currently playing inside.
He nodded. "Well, if you think it’s safe, then why not? In the short term, this might be the force that changes the trajectory of our Kiyon guild."
Roonie smiled. "You think so too?"
Veyne nodded, but then pointed at himself. "But don’t get too excited. I an, having a couple of decent players is better than nothing, but the key lies in ."
Roonie raised his eyebrows. "What do you an?"
Veyne smiled. "You’ll realize it in the future."
Roonie burst out laughing. "Haha, that gut of yours." He stood up. "Well, in that case, I’ll enter the ga in a couple of days."
Veyne tilted his head. "Why wait?"
Roonie paused and explained, "I an, I was thinking of providing so ga-related classes to the others. So of them have no experience in the ga."
Veyne rolled his eyes, picked up his phone, and said while searching few things on it, "The best way to learn the ga is by playing the ga. As for the beginner village, just target the butcher quest; nothing else is worth wasting ti on."
Roonie raised his eyebrow. "But I heard people gain hidden classes in the beginner village."
Veyne nodded. "Well, they do, but most of those require you to et so random condition. It’ll take too much ti and isn’t worth it. You can get them in your first city as well. Here, I just sent you so of the best tutorial videos. They cover everything from quests to stat distribution."
Roonie checked his phone and said in shock, "What, there are more than 50 videos here!"
Veyne waved his hand. "Oh, it’s part of a beginner-to-advanced guide. For starters, just show everyone the first six videos. That should be sufficient."
Roonie opened one video, but just a minute in, he paused. "Nah, this won’t work. All these videos use gaming terms that are foreign to soone like Casim. I think it’ll be better to have a teacher."
Veyne shrugged his shoulders. "Well, if you think so, then sure. But it’s better to start the ga as early as possible. The more ti you spend in the ga, the more chance you have to get better."
Roonie nodded. "I’ll keep that in mind. First, let finalize the list of people I’ll take into the ga."
Veyne nodded and pointed to Bea. "Also, take her into the ga with you."
Roonie froze. "Ah, what about your food, then?"
Veyne rolled his eye. "Don’t worry. I don’t need her presence all the ti. As long as she cooks the food, I can eat on my own. Also, with spending so much ti in the ga, she wouldn’t have much to do anyway. As for the guards, do as you see fit."
Roonie nodded. "Cool. I’ll install a couple more ga pods inside your house for the others. See you inside the ga, then."
Veyne smiled. "Sure."
With that, Roonie walked out with his two guards, like a kid eager to try his new toy.
Veyne just smiled and turned his focus back to the house.
