Veyne soon opened his eyes inside the gaming pod. He was confused for a mont when he felt the liquid around his body draining away every second.
It hit him—he was using the gaming pod.
Inside the ga, he had been so engrossed in the skill that he’d forgotten he was using the new pod.
Now that he thought about it, he didn’t even sense much difference in the ga world.
Well, all he did was stay still, so that might be the reason. Also, after 90% synchronization, there wasn’t much difference in the ga world.
From what he’d read in his past life, the improvent in ga world experience was so minute that many didn’t even notice it.
The biggest advantage of synchronization was during rapid skill execution.
The higher the synchronization, the smoother the transition and usage of skills.
But those were things he’d just read in his past life. So far, he hadn’t noticed any improvent.
Well, it didn’t matter. He would be grinding his skill next ti, so if there was any difference, he would notice it.
He focused on the last bit of liquid that was draining. It was the special nutritional fluid designed to supplent the player’s body.
Not long after, all the liquid was drained from the bottom, and he found himself dry. Not even his clothes were wet.
Veyne just opened the ga pod in fascination.
In his past life, he’d only heard about the mysteries of the nutritional liquid from the internet, but this was his first ti experiencing it.
As he stretched around, he felt no discomfort or stiffness, which he used to experience after using headsets and his old pod.
This must be due to the ripple movent massage—another feature the new gaming pod was equipped with.
Basically, from ti to ti, the pod would produce vibrations that slightly moved the player’s body. This would help avoid the stiffness that ca from staying still for too long.
He wasn’t sure about the other features right now, but this ripple massage was really great.
As Veyne was stretching, he heard his stomach grumble. He looked at the ti—it was already 5 PM.
He picked up his phone from the bed. In his excitent to try the advanced gaming pod, he hadn’t connected his phone to the pod, and once he was inside, he forgot about the pod itself.
Veyne just smiled—it had been a long ti since he experienced such great news both inside and outside the ga.
It was the complete opposite of his past sewer-life self. He shook his head and walked out of the room while scrolling through his phone.
As he walked down to the bottom floor, he heard a big commotion going on there.
Bea was shouting at Casim and the other guards, "No, move that table here and those sofas to the side."
Casim asked her, "What about the big dining table?"
Bea said, "Place it in the right corner. That way, it’ll be next to the kitchen and away from the washroom."
Zayn walked in from outside with a bunch of lights wrapped around his body. "Where should I put them?"
Bea pointed to the ceiling, "Just arrange them in a line across the ceiling. They’ll give the perfect disco vibe."
Jaxson walked in with a few guys and said to Bea, "Here, the DJ is here."
Bea started ordering them on where to place the speakers and other stuff.
Just looking at all of this, Veyne felt a headache. Now he really regretted postponing the party.
Everything would’ve been much simpler if they’d just held the party at that bar.
As he walked down, Casim spotted him first. "Oh, sir, you ca out of the ga."
As Casim spoke, the others turned to look at him.
Veyne just nodded and asked Bea, "Yeah. Is there anything for to eat?"
Bea nodded. "I already prepared food at noon. From tomorrow, do tell what and when you want to eat." She pointed to the sofa. "Just give a few minutes. I’ll heat the food."
With that, she gave a few more instructions to others and rushed into the kitchen.
Veyne followed her instructions and plopped onto the sofa.
Not long after, he slled the hot food as Bea started placing it on the dining table, which had been moved next to the kitchen door.
Veyne picked up a chair and sat there to eat. Before taking his first bite, he looked at Casim and the boys. "You guys eat?"
All of them nodded. "Yup."
Veyne then glanced at Bea. "You?"
Bea nodded and rushed back out again, continuing to give instructions to the others.
Not bothered, Veyne took his first bite, and his eyes widened in surprise.
This stuff was surprisingly much tastier than the canteen food he’d been eating these past few days.
He started stuffing everything into his mouth like a starving beggar. In less than five minutes, he wiped off even the last grain of rice from his plate.
He just closed his eyes, savoring every last bit of the flavor inside his mouth.
As he looked at the empty plate, he felt regret that it had all ended so quickly.
He rubbed his stomach—even though he was full, he still wanted more of it.
Not wanting to be swept away by his emotions, he gave Bea a thumbs-up. "Great food."
She nodded to him and picked up his empty plate, heading back to the kitchen.
Veyne just sat at the table for a long ti, watching everything going on around the house.
He still found it a bit hard to believe that all of this was real—
especially when, from ti to ti, scenes of him sleeping on the roads, or hiding in the sewers to protect himself from the cold, flashed through his mind.
Both scenes overlapped before his eyes, giving him this surreal feeling. He just sat there, processing everything that had happened to him since this morning.
The warm food in his belly clashed with the cold he used to feel in the sewers. It was too much of a contrast. Too fast.
After a long while, he walked to the washroom to clean his mouth and hands.
Veyne was walking out of the washroom when he saw Roonie walking in with around a dozen people behind him, all dressed in casual clothes.
As Roonie saw him, he waved. "Veyne, co here. I want to talk to you."
